Don taught at the old Owen Sound Collegiate and Vocational Institute
also serving as a guidance counsellor retiring in 1979. Don's
long time memberships included the Grey Granite Curling Club,
the Owen Sound Golf Club and fifty-eight years with the Royal
Canadian Legion. Don served from 1939 to 1945 as a gunner in
the army. Friends may call at the Breckenridge-Ashcroft Funeral
Home on Wednesday from 2: 00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted at Division Street United
Church on Thursday afternoon at 1 p.m. Reverend Cathy
HIRD officiating.
Members of the Royal Canadian Legion Owen Sound Branch #6 are
requested to attend a memorial service at the funeral home on
Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery.

the community. Reg was an avid photographer seen around town
with his camera in hand and enjoyed feeding "his children" the
ducks at Southside Park and looked forward to a friendly game
of tennis every now and then. One of Reg's hobbies was collecting
flags from around the world and would share his hobby with all
who were interested by raising his flags in his backyard or displaying

Charles E. Hirn, 77, of Bainbridge, OH died 8: 39 PM Friday, April 7, 2006.
He was born December 14, 1928 in Ross County, OH, the
son of the late
Charles and Marjorie Smith Hirn. He is survived by 2 daughters, Melissa
"Missy" (Marty) Hirn-Pulliam of Bainbridge, OH and Julie Frisch of Ky. 4
grandchildren, Ki and Silas Pulliam and Callie and Sarah Frisch. He is also
survived by a cousin, Jack Matson of Chillicothe, OH. Chuck was an Army
veteran, a member of the American Legion Post 14 of Bainbridge, OH and a
member of the Bainbridge Lodge 196 F and AM. He was also a retired farmer and
business owner. Funeral services were held 11 AM Tuesday, April 11, 2006 at
the Bainbridge United Methodist Church on the corner of 2nd and Maple
streets, with Pastor McClellan Nicholson Officiating. Burial followed in the
Grandview Cemetery, Chillicothe, OH where the Ross County Honor Guard
performed a Military Graveside service. Visitation was from 4 to 7: 30 PM
Monday at the Church. Where there was a Masonic service following
