SCHROEDER,
Robert
John "
Bob"
Of London, in his 62nd year, died Monday, February 13, 2006,
in his 62nd year, after a short and difficult battle with cancer.
Survived by wife and best friend Beth of 39 years, daughters
Wendy (and Steve
SCHARGER) of Parry Sound, Erin (and Hootan
HEYDARI)
of Melbourne, Australia, and Leslie, of London, England. Also
survived by brothers Rick (and Heather) of Black Creek, British
Columbia and Ron (and Rose) of Troy, Michigan. Also nieces and
nephews, Matthew, Chloe, Rachel and Rebecca. Bob grew up in Exeter,
Ontario, then attended the University of Western Ontario on a
scholarship from The London Free Press. Upon graduation, he began
his full time career with the Free Press. Bob was passionate
about his family spending time with them whenever possible; about
golfing with his buddies at Sunningdale (no, he wasn't retired,
it just seemed that way); about reading, his winter sport (the
Westmount Library can close now) and about beer -- especially
served in a British pub. Bob was my husband, my best friend,
my companion, my sometimes sparring partner, but above all my
rock. I will miss him terribly. He lived in a house with four
women, a formidable task, but did it with patience and always
with love. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 21, 7: 00-9:00
p.m. at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, where
the memorial service and celebration of life will be conducted
on Wednesday, February 22nd, 2006 at 11 a.m. Private family interment
of ashes at Woodland Cemetery. Those wishing to make a donation
in memory of Bob, are asked to consider the McCormick Home-Rebuild
campaign, St. Joseph's Hospital Foundation (Parkwood) or London
Health Sciences Foundation -- Cancer Centre. On-line condolences
can be made at westviewfuneralchapel.com.
