MacKENZIE, Evelyn
Surrounded by her family, Evelyn Mackenzie passed away peacefully at home in Gateway Haven, Wiarton at the age of 92 on June 26th, 2006. Predeceased by her loving husband James in 1985, her daughter Sally GILBERT in 1980 and her twin sister Ethelwyn (Eccy) PATTERSON in 1977. Also predeceased by two brothers Charles and Donald MacGREGOR and several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. Beloved mother of Barry and his wife Nancy of London. Proud Grandmother of Debbie MacKIE (Jerry), Robert GILBERT (Melanie), Tracey HEPBURN (Don) and Tara PHILLIPS (Trevor.) Cherished Great-Grandmother of Amber, Jenna, Kaley and Paige MacKIE, Kyle and Daniel GILBERT, Barrett and Justin HEPBURN and Ashley PHILLIPS. She will be missed by her son-in-law Gail GILBERT and sister-in-law Jean CARSON. Evelyn was a respected teacher and mentor, positively influencing the lives of many young people. She was active in the Clavering church community, loved golf, bridge, travel and was on the winning team of the 1984 Ontario Seniors Curling Championship. A special thank-you to the staff of Gateway Haven for their gentle care and compassion for Evelyn and her family during her final days. Beloved mother of Francis (Lorna) EDMONSTONE of Orangeville, Sharon (Keith) PEER of Owen Sound, Donna (Reg) HEPBURN of Wiarton and Bill (Debbie) EDMONSTONE of Shallow Lake. Cherished grandmother of 12 and great-grandmother of 12. She will be sadly missed by sister-in-law Margaret ROUSE of East Linton. Laura was predeceased by her husband Erven, her parents Margaret (KING) and Melville YORK, one granddaughter and one great-granddaughter. Laura worked at the Wiarton Hospital for many years and was a long standing member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 208 Ladies Auxilliary and the Oxenden Women's Institute. The family will receive Friends at the George Funeral Home, Wiarton on Wednesday, October 11, 2006 from 2: 00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9: 00 p.m. The funeral service to celebrate Laura's life will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, October 12, 2006 at 2: 00 p.m. with Rev. Dear sister of Carman and his wife Marg HINDLEY and Calvin HINDLEY, all of Saint Thomas and Glenn and his wife Karen HINDLEY of Port Stanley. Predeceased by a sister Betty HEPBURN and a brother Wayne HINDLEY. Loved grandmother of Tyler, Darren, Bradley and Elizabeth. Sadly missed by a number of nieces and nephews. Donna was born in Saint Thomas on August 15, 1929, the daughter of the late James and Kathleen (MILLMAN) HINDLEY. She owned and operated McLaws Gravel with her husband. Grandmother of Tricia HORTON (Dale), Craig ETHELSTON (April CAMPBELL), Janet WILSON (Blair), Stacey KER (Jordan ARTHUR), and Scott KER. Great-grandmother of Brody ETHELSTON, Tori and Logan WILSON. Sister of Bertha CAUGHELL (William,) William CRAIG (Rhea,) late Ruth BAUGHMAN, late Jack and late James CRAIG. Sister-in-law of Ona CRAIG, Kay CRAIG, Gwendolyn and Lyle HEPBURN, Marion McKENZIE, and Jean and James BROKENSHIRE. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Born in Saint Thomas, October 1, 1930, the daughter of the late William and Hazel (CLUNAS) CRAIG. Marie was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church and a former member of Supreme Rebekah Lodge #251, Saint Thomas. Peacefully at the Perley and Rideau Veterans Health Centre, Ottawa, in his 92nd year. Dearly loved husband of Myrtle (STEVENSON.) Proud father of Sandy and John. Art is greatly missed by grand_son Kerry, and Yvonne BICKERSTAFF. Also survived by his sister Ruth (Murray) GREEN and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sister Elsie HEPDITCH and his grand_son Lee. Friends may call at the Valley Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 115 Rivington Street, Carp, on Thursday, May 25, 2006 from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Friday from 3 to 5 p.m. A graveside service will take place at Torboltan Cemetery at a later date. Art graduated in Forestry Engineering from the University of Toronto in 1937. During World War 2 he taught navigation with the Royal Canadian Air Force. He worked for the Canadian Forestry Service until retiring in 1974 to his beloved "Riverwood". Art will be fondly remembered by his Friends and neighbours in the Woodlawn area. Dear father of Robert and Linda TOWNSEND, Beth and Ken JACKSON, John TOWNSEND and his partner Joanne HEPPNER, and Bruce and Jeniffer TOWNSEND. Peter will be cherished forever by his 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by sister Alice JANES. Peter generously gave his time volunteering with numerous organizations in the Collingwood area and will be fondly remembered by many. A memorial visitation will be held on Sunday, June 25, 2006 at Fawcett Funeral Homes -- Collingwood Chapel, 82 Pine Street, from 2-4 and 7-9 in the evening. Memorial contributions in Peter's name may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of the donor's choice. A Celebration of Peter's Life will be held at the Craigleith Ski Club at a later date. Peacefully in Montreal at home in his 90th year on Thursday November 30, 2006. Beloved by Dodo for 58 years. Cherished by his children Martin HEPPNER and Judith TIMSON, Erik and Alison HEPPNER, Maxine HEPPNER and Christos GIOTIS, Sara and Danny WALDSTON, his sister Roberta POLLOCK of Ottawa, and grandchildren who always brought a smile to his lips, Emily and Jonathan; Alexis and Andrew; Dalia, Nikki and Tessa. son of the late Sara and the late Max HEPPNER of Winnipeg. Dear brother-in-law of Sheila and the late Alan FINESTONE, and the late Sidney POLLOCK. A man of great integrity, his intelligence, hearty laugh, compassion for others, dedication to their welfare and unstinting love of family earned him the respect and loyalty of those who knew him. On September 12, 2006 at the age of 78 years, passed away peacefully. Mr. Fernand BOISJOLY, President of Hydro-Mac Inc., and former President of Fluid Power Society. He leaves to mourn his wife Suzanne CROISETIÈRE and his four children Louise (André CHÉNARD,) André (Marie-Josée FILION,) Christiane and Luc (Jean-Louise HEPWORTH,) as well as 8 grandchildren who cherished him: Guillaume, François, Laurent, Simon, Caroline, Geneviève, Anne and Isabelle. He also leaves to mourn his sister-in-law Marthe CROISETIÈRE (René PAQUIN,) his nephew Pierre PAQUIN (Marie GÉLINAS) and niece Elyse PAQUIN (Robert CANTIN) and numerous other relatives and good Friends.
