Formerly of London passed away peacefully April 20th, 2006 at the age of 77 in his hometown of Lamia, Greece. Beloved husband of the late Katherine LAZOS. Loving father of Sophie VILOS and her husband James, Bessie HAVARIS and her husband Peter. Dear grandfather to Jennifer and Christa VILOS and Katherine and Dana HAVARIS. Gus was the eldest of 6 siblings. Predeceased by his sister Marianna PAPPAS, formerly of Stratford. Survived by sisters Voula CHRONOPOULOS of Toronto, Joeanna KASTRINIES of Stratford, Sophia SZGIUS of Greece, brother Tony LAZOS of Greece, and many nieces and nephews. Gus will be sadly missed by many relatives and Friends. He will always be remembered as the loud, proud and good hearted man with the screwdriver in his shirt pocket. His body will be laid to rest Tuesday, April 25th, 2006 in Lamia, Greece.

Passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2006, with his family at his side, at Sunnybrook Hospital, at the age of 80. Beloved husband of Agnes (née DOCHERTY,) for over 60 years. Loving father of Dianne HAVERCROFT (John), Eric (Kathryn) and Thomas (Fauzia). Cherished Grandpa of Jennifer (David KOMLOS,) Bill HAVERCROFT (Sara Lynn), Kirsten (Michael KOOP), Erin DAVEY, Aimee DAVEY, Jeffrey HAVERCROFT, Nicole (Brad BOW), Ryan DAVEY and Zulfa. Great-grandfather to Sam, Abby, Jack and Zoe. Dear brother of the late Joe (Verna). Friends may call on Saturday, February 11, 2006 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding, south of Steeles). A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel at 3 p.m. Cremation. CHAPMAN, Ian Douglas
Ian Douglas CHAPMAN, 72, professor emeritus, Trent University passed away peacefully on Monday, December 11, 2006, at Kingston General Hospital, from complications arising from pancreatic cancer. At his side was his loving companion of 24 years, Bernard HAVERHALS and their daughters Renée and Jennifer. Ian will be fondly remembered by his sister Denyse and her family, as well as many Friends and colleagues. A memorial service will be held at Old Christ Church (974 Sydenham Road, exit 613 off Hwy. 401) Kingston, on Thursday, December 14 at 11: 00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Doctors without Borders, 720 Spadina Ave., Unit 402, Toronto, Ontario M5S 2T9 or call 1-800-982-7903. Passed away suddenly at his home in Toronto on Friday morning, April 14, 2006. Reunited with Bride, his devoted wife of 49 years. He will be dearly missed by his loving family: Marie (Paul) NUGENT of Toronto, Colleen (John) FITZPATRICK of Calgary, Gerard (Joan) POWER of Mississauga, Regina (Phil) DU TOIT of Kingston, Brian (Krista) POWER of Edmonton, Elizabeth (Kevin) HAVERTY of Toronto, and Geoff (Sarah) POWER of Brampton. He will always be loved and remembered by his grandchildren: Adam, Ben, Christopher, Kaelan, Katie and Nicole. Predeceased by his parents Edward and Sarah POWER and brothers Raymond, Ted, Kevin, Joseph and Matthew. He leaves behind his brother William POWER, his sisters-in-law Alice DOWER, Mary DOWER, Elizabeth (George) HAWCO; brother-in-law Ron (Shirley) DOWER and their families. He also leaves behind extended family and a large circle of Friends in Newfoundland. In his 91st year, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 25, 2006, at Houses of Providence, Toronto. Beloved father of Cathy and Marv HAVERY, Kilian and Loretta O'DONOVAN, Diarmuid and Kathy O'DONOVAN, Con and Sue O'DONOVAN, Neave and Ted GREIG, Emir and Jim POELZER, Mora and Marc OUELLETTE, and Grainne THORSBY and the late Jim THORSBY, and his two stepsons, Rick and Gary JOHNSON. Cherished by 32 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren, his niece Pauline O'DONOVAN and many other nieces and nephews. Diarmuid was born in Cork, Ireland and emigrated to Toronto from Dublin in 1954. He was predeceased by his first wife Rosaleen (née CREANER,) his second wife Lidy JOHNSON, his daughter Roisin and brother Donal. He is survived by his brother Don and sister Peggy in Dublin. His loving presence, his wit and gentle humour, will be sadly missed by all his family and Friends. Friends may call on Tuesday, March 28, 2006 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding, south of Steeles). Suddenly at Alexandra Hospital, Ingersoll on Friday, September 22, 2006, Jim HAVLIK, of Thamesford, in his 64th year. Beloved husband of Marianne (SANDHAM) HAVLIK for 24 years. Dear brother of Melanie WILYMAN, uncle of Cory, Scott and his wife Melissa PLUCH and great uncle of Owen and Olivia WILYMAN all of Toronto. Predeceased by his parents Jim and Stephanie HAVLIK of Brandon, Manitoba. Dear son-in-law of the late Howard and Betty SANDHAM of Thamesford. Predeceased by two sons Jay (1975) and Jimmy (1992). Cremation has taken place and a private interment of ashes will be held at a later date. A Memorial Visitation will be held at the HAVLIK home, 224 Delatre Street West, Thamesford on Sunday, October 1, 2006 from 1-3 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by calling McBeath-Dynes Funeral Home, Ingersoll (519-425-1600). Jim will be remembered for his love and commitment to his family. He treasured his time with his son Jimmy and loved to have quiet time at home with them. His nephews will remember his humorous stories and adventures metal detecting and his remarkable sense of wit about life. Jim will be sadly missed.
