WALTERS, Christina (HAPON) (1950-2006)
Christina WALTERS passed away at home on October 26 in the arms of her husband Vernon after a courageous battle with cancer. Her family and many Friends will miss the joy she brought to their lives with her warmth, wit and beautiful smile. Christina leaves a wonderful legacy in the students and staff she inspired in 32 years of teaching at Richard W. Scott, St. Aloysius and Canadian Martyrs elementary schools in Toronto. A true Renaissance woman, her passion for life was reflected in her love of art, film, music and literature. Her family of Friends will remember an engaging, vibrant, caring person, who was always there in a time of need. Beloved daughter of Czeslawa and Stanley HAPON of Oshawa, sister of Edward, sister-in-law of Patti, Anne, Joan, Larry and Wayne and cherished aunt of Paul, Jennifer, Alison, LaRee, Sean, Jeremy and Luc. A private service will be held Saturday, November 4, at Pine Hills Cemetery, 625 Birchmount Road, Toronto, starting at noon. A reception will follow. A celebration of Christina's life is being planned for all those who were blessed by knowing her. Details will be announced on her CarePage website. Donations in lieu of flowers are being accepted for the Christina Walters Fund, which will be used annually to enhance student arts appreciation. Contributions (c/o the Christina Walters Fund) can be made payable to the Toronto Catholic District School Board, 80 Sheppard Ave. E., Toronto, M2N 6H8, attention Deanne FOIDART.

Beloved husband of the late (Peggy) Margaret Elizabeth (MEEK) JOHNSON (2004.) Loving father of Phillip and Cynthia JOHNSON of Calgary and Mary Ellen and Fred PARSONS of Owen Sound. Proud grandfather of Paul, Eric, Brian, Daniel and Adam and great-grandfather of Eve. Dear brother of the late Florence JAPP, Mary HAPPER and Isabel THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON. Beloved wife of the late Robert HAPPER (1991.) Loving mother of Louise McQUEEN of Sarnia and Barbara ROSE (Alex) of R.R.#1 Ailsa Craig. Special Grandmother of Scott (Lea Ann) and Michael all of Sarnia, Carolyn (Wayne) of Zurich, Dave (Heather) of Strathroy and Jeff (Marion) of Strathroy. Great-grandmother of Kirstie, Sarah, Stacey, Chad, Branson and Sheldon and Step Great-grandmother of Sabrina, Vanessa, Nathan, Jessica and Jennifer. Dear sister of Gordon JOHNSON of Owen Sound. Predeceased by sisters Isabel THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON and Florence JAPP. Resting at the Stephenson and son Funeral Home, Ailsa Craig where the funeral service will be held on Monday November 6 at 2 p.m. with Reverend Larry AMIRO officiating. Interment Nairn Cemetery. Beloved husband of the late Molly (HILTON) TOPPING and the late Mabel (HAPPY) TOPPING. Dear father of Clarice SARGENT, Gloria McKAY and Iris WAITE and her husband Bob all of London. Dear brother of Ruth MALES and Marjorie RALSTON both of London. Much loved Papa of, Cindy and Neal, Sandra and Jeff, Deanna and Bryan, Wendy and Dan, Paula and Jeff, Tara and Bill, Brent and Marcie and Robin and Joe. Also loved by his great-grandchildren, Amber, Lindsey, Tori, Brittany, Kylie, Emy, Marley, Cassandra, Jessica, Jesse, Taylor, Chris, Nicholas, Ethan, Noah and Hailey.
