Surrounded by her family at Middlesex Terrace Nursing Home on Monday, May 29, 2006, Bessie Eleanor MacKENZIE in her 89th year. Beloved wife of the late Donald MacKENZIE (1980.) Loved mother of Jim and Marlene MacKENZIE of Arkona, Dave and Lynda MacKENZIE of Woodstock, Bob and Marilyn HIGGS of Lambeth and Doug and Karen MacKENZIE of Barrie. Dear grandmother of 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her granddaughter Nancy HAK (2000) and great-granddaughter Katie ELLIOT/ELLIOTT (2000.) Predeceased by sister and brother-in-law Ada and Albert FLOOD. Predeceased by brothers George, Jack and Allen. Survived by loving sisters-in-law Ethel OLIVER of Delaware and Verna OLIVER of London. The family will receive Friends and relatives at Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel, 1997 Dundas Street East (at Wavell), London for visitation on Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be on Wednesday, May 31, 2006 at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to service. Loving mother of Dr. Shelley TAILOR/TAYLOR, beloved grandmother of Teddy and Eden all of London. Sister of Maureen DICKEY and Sharon McKENNA and Jack McKENNA all of Thunder Bay. Predeceased by her parents Edward and Elizabeth McKENNA, brother Frank of Schreiber, sisters Mary OSESKY and Kay HAKALA of Thunder Bay, and brother Ted McKENNA of White Rock, British Columbia. Cremation has taken place and a funeral service will be held in Thunder Bay at a later date. Loving mother of Trudy and Carl VAN BRUGGE of Burgessville, John and Barb of Salford, Peter and Kim of Albania, Gina and Wim LIGTENBERG of Lisse, Holland, Wilma and Dick VAN'T FOORT of Norwich, Tineke and Kees BAAIJ of Lisse, Holland, Jane and Gary RYKSEN of Norwich, Anna-Marie and Bill VAN WINGERDEN of Sunnyside, Washington. She will be missed by her 44 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Sister of Willy and Arie ADVOKAAT, sister-in-law of Fake KOENS, all of Holland. Predeceased by a granddaughter Lygina GEERTRUIDA (1991,) brother Arie and sister-in-law Annie MIDDELKOOP, and a sister Corrie KOENS. HAKLANDER, Willem " Bill"
At the age of 70, Bill HAKLANDER passed away peacefully at home, Poplar Hill, Ontario on Monday, October 2nd, 2006 to be with his Lord. Dear husband of Marja for 39 years and beloved father of Isabell (and husband Doug VANDENBERG,) Richard and wife Marya,) Tom and wife Klara,) Grace (and husband Mike HARBOUR,) Billy ( and wife Dana), and Joanna. Dearly loved grandfather of 12 grandchildren. Predeceased by grand_son Paul (1989). Bill will be deeply missed by siblings and their families in the Netherlands. The family wishes to thank all those who showed much care and compassion in the 6 years of Bill's illness. Special thanks also to the Community Care Access Centre and Home Support Workers who made it possible for Bill to stay at home in his final days, as was his wish. May God Bless you all. Stephenson and son Funeral Home, Ailsa Craig on Wednesday, October 4, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, October 5 at 2: 30 p.m. at the Free Reformed Church of London, 1274 Tote Road (off Gideon Drive). 86, of Mitchell passed away at the Exeter Villa on Saturday, November 4, 2006. Beloved wife of the late Guy INMAN (1942,) Oscar ELLISON (1968) and Don KEMPSTON (1976.) Dear mother of Doug Ellison and wife Cathy of Grand Bend, Bob ELLISON of Yellowknife and Don ELLISON and wife Darlene of Exeter; loving grandmother of Michelle (Eric) STANGER, Marcia (Howie) OUTERBRIDGE, Jenny ELLISON, Dan ELLISON, Sean ELLISON and Meaghan ELLISON; loving great-grandmother of Beckett STANGER; dear sister of Arlene (John) STEWARD/STEWART/STUART; dear sister-in-law of Doreen SMART. Lovingly remembered by her good friend Derek WHITEHEAD, the KEMPSTON and ELLISON families and Michelle, Lisa and Katey HAKVOORT. Also fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Len and Ruth (WILSON) SMART and brother Donald SMART. Gert was born in Paynton, Saskatchewan and served with the Royal Canadian Air Force in World War 2. She moved to Mitchell in 1952 where she was a Past President of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary, a member of Trinity Anglican Church and the Mitchell Golf and Country Club. Gert will be remembered for her zest for life, great sense of humour and love of sports. Friends will be received at the Lockhart Funeral Home, 109 Montreal Street, Mitchell on Tuesday 7-9 p.m. and on Wednesday from 1: 00 p.m. until time of funeral service at 2: 00 p.m. with Rev. Susan MALPUS officiating. Interment in Trinity Anglican Cemetery, Mitchell.
