SCOTT, Stewart
Stewart SCOTT passed away on March 29th, 2006 at the Sunnybrook Health Science Centre at the age of 84. Stewart was a graduate of the University of Toronto, a World War 2 veteran, a teacher and vice-principal in the Toronto School System: Lawrence Park C.I., Humberside C.I., and Northern S.S. He was an outstanding athlete at North Toronto C.I., excelled in football and basketball at University, played football for the Argos and Balmy Beach and basketball for Toronto Central Y. He was a member of the Kappa Alpha Fraternity, St. Andrew's Society, the Toronto Cricket Skating and Curling Club and the University of Toronto sports alumni, the T-Holders. He will be remembered by Friends and family for his thoughtfulness, kindness and integrity. Special thanks to the wonderful staff in the L-wing at the Veteran's Home at Sunnybrook and especially to his primary nurses: Haroze KHAN and Irma CABANSAY. Stewart was pre-deceased by his parents Thomas Willock SCOTT (Wormit, Scotland) and Kate Stewart SCOTT (Dundee, Scotland) and his sister Kathryn GUGGISBERG. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 33 years, Maia Raimet Kapsi SCOTT, his children by his first wife Sylva: Fraser (Judy), Jacqueline and Graham (Vicky), his grandchildren Andrew, Victoria and Jamie. The children will receive visitors on Sunday April 2nd, 2006 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Murray E. Newbigging Funeral Home, 733 Mt. Pleasant Rd. (south of Eglinton) Toronto. Funeral Services will be on Monday, April 3rd, 2006 at 2: 00 p.m. at the Anglican Church of St. Clements, 59 Briar Hill Ave., followed by interment at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Toronto Cricket Skating and Curling Club, 141 Wilson Ave. No flowers please. Entered into rest at his residence on Friday March 10, 2006. Burton DAVENPORT of Cordova Mines, in his 76th year. son of the late Annie and Burton W. DAVENPORT. Beloved husband of Gladys M. DAVENPORT (née HOPPER.) Loving father of Lin DAVENPORT of R.R.#2 Marmora, Joanne RUDY and husband Bill of Marmora, Carol Anne GUGINS and husband Robert of Cambridge, and James DAVENPORT of Bayside. Predeceased by son Robert B. DAVENPORT. Ever remembered by 12 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Predeceased by his sister Ivy VEAUDRY and brothers Ted and Albert DAVENPORT. Friends are invited to call at the Stirling Funeral Chapel, 87 James Street, Stirling on Monday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Tuesday March 14 at 1: 00 p.m. Rev. Ann FOSTER officiating. Cremation to follow with interment of ashes in Stirling Cemetery. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ersilia Lucia on Monday, March 27, 2006 at the age of 86. Loving wife to Fiorindo. Devoted mother to Anna GUGLIETTI. Beloved grandmother to Vivian (Anthony) SIMONE. Cherished great grandmother to Julia, Christine and Sarah. Ersilia Lucia will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.
