WALTERS, Christina (HAPON) (1950-2006)
Christina WALTERS passed away at home on October 26 in the arms of her husband Vernon after a courageous battle with cancer. Her family and many Friends will miss the joy she brought to their lives with her warmth, wit and beautiful smile. Christina leaves a wonderful legacy in the students and staff she inspired in 32 years of teaching at Richard W. Scott, St. Aloysius and Canadian Martyrs elementary schools in Toronto. A true Renaissance woman, her passion for life was reflected in her love of art, film, music and literature. Her family of Friends will remember an engaging, vibrant, caring person, who was always there in a time of need. Beloved daughter of Czeslawa and Stanley HAPON of Oshawa, sister of Edward, sister-in-law of Patti, Anne, Joan, Larry and Wayne and cherished aunt of Paul, Jennifer, Alison, LaRee, Sean, Jeremy and Luc. A private service will be held Saturday, November 4, at Pine Hills Cemetery, 625 Birchmount Road, Toronto, starting at noon. A reception will follow. A celebration of Christina's life is being planned for all those who were blessed by knowing her. Details will be announced on her CarePage website. Donations in lieu of flowers are being accepted for the Christina Walters Fund, which will be used annually to enhance student arts appreciation. Contributions (c/o the Christina Walters Fund) can be made payable to the Toronto Catholic District School Board, 80 Sheppard Ave. E., Toronto, M2N 6H8, attention Deanne FOIDART.

FOISY, Leonard Patrick
Suddenly at his home on Friday, February 24th, 2006. Loving husband of Ida. Sadly missed by his children Nadia Maria and Kayla Jenna. Loving son of Gina and the late Clifford FOISY. Dear brother of John Patrick FOISY and Penny FOISY. Dear son-in-law of Maria and Tonino VIOLA. Loved brother-in-law of Americo and Davide VIOLA. He will always be remembered by the rest of his family and Friends. Family and Friends will be received at the G.H. Hogle Funeral Homes "Mimico Chapel" 63 Mimico Ave., Etobicoke on Monday and Tuesday 4-9 p.m. Funeral Mass at Saint Mark's Catholic Church, 277 Park Lawn Rd., Etobicoke on Wednesday 12 noon. FOISY- MOON, Claudette
With deep sadness the family of Claudette FOISY- MOON, aged 71 announce her death on November 9th, 2006 at Mount Sinai Hospital. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Peter MOON and her parents Robert and Vi FOISY. She will remembered at 2: 00 p.m. on Sunday, November 12th at a memorial service at Emmanuel College Chapel, 3rd floor, Emmanuel College Building, 75 Queen's Park Crescent, Toronto Toronto. Prior to her retirement Claudette was a teacher in Ottawa and Pembroke. She was a principal in Timmins and with the Toronto Metropolitan Separate School Board. She was a member of Soroptimists International of Toronto and Governor of Eastern Canada Region. She was active in the political concerns of education and the professional development of teachers. She took a position as Executive Assistant with the Ontario English Catholic Teachers Association and later with the Ontario Teachers Federation. Her devotion to education continued into her retirement with her work as a facilitator for the Academy for Lifelong Learning at Knox College, University of Toronto. Claudette was kind, thoughtful and considerate. She was an advocate for children. She will be sadly missed by her Friends and family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation.

TURGEON, Guy Roméo, M.D.
Born Saint_Jean-de-Matha, Québec on August 18, 1916, died March 24, 2006 in Sun City, Arizona. Dearly beloved companion and husband to Bebe for thirty-two years, predeceased by first wife Georgette also predeceased by; parents Dr Roméo TURGEON and Cécile (Balète) TURGEON, beloved sister Françoise, his best friend and uncle, Roger TURGEON and many other aunts and uncles. Dr TURGEON attended Lycée Carnot in Paris, Trinity College at Cambridge University (B.A. 1937; M.A. 1938), and graduated in Medicine from McGill University, with an M.D.C.M. in 1940. After serving in the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War 2 as a doctor, he set up a private practice in Montréal. He and his wife then moved to California where he became Chief Medical Officer for a state prison and spent fourteen years working for the State of California in the Social Security Administration. Other than his wife Bebe, Dr TURGEON is survived by his brother Jean TURGEON (Josette,) niece Adele (TURGEON) SMITH, (Maury) and nephew Cecil, great-niece Cécile and great-nephew Maury, step-children Alan FOITAG (Barbara,) Carol BOURDAA (Bruce,) Debbie GOLD and step-grandchildren Steven, Robert and David. Always a gentleman and truly a gentle man, his wit and keen intelligence will be greatly missed by his family and Friends, who bid him adieu.
