MURRAY, Mary " Louise"
At the Brantford General Hospital on Sunday, March 19, 2006 at age 100 years, M. Louise MURRAY. Beloved wife of the late Arthur S. MURRAY. Loved mother of Georgi HOSKING and her husband Wayne of Hartford, Conneticut and predeceased by daughter Kathleen FIFE in 1984. Loved by grandchildren Kathleen, Wayne Jr., Susan, James, Rebecca and Murray and 12 great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Harold TURNER and his wife Irene of Mt. Hope. Also missed by nieces and nephews. The family will receive Friends at McCleister Funeral Home, 495 Park Rd. N. on Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be in the chapel on Thursday at 2: 00 p.m. followed by a reception in the main floor hospitality suite. Interment will take place Friday morning in Port Colborne. If wished, memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Alzheimer's Society or New Covenant Christian Congregational Church gratefully appreciated. A resident of the Elgin Manor, R.R.#1, Saint Thomas, formerly of R.R.#7, Saint Thomas (Mount Pleasant Farm), passed away at the Saint Thomas-Elgin General Hospital on Tuesday, March 21, 2006, in his 92nd year. Beloved husband for over 66 years to Margaret (FIFE) LYLE. Dearly loved father of Ronald J. LYLE and his wife Margaret of R.R.#4, Iona Station and Lois BEATY and her husband Robert "Bob" of Victoria, British Columbia. Cherished grandfather of John LYLE and his wife Doctor Rachel COOK- LYLE, Steve LYLE and his partner Sandy SAXTON, Sheila LYLE, Scott BEATY and his wife Heather, and Mark BEATY. Also survived by 3 great grand_sons, Andrew LYLE, Gregory LYLE and Henry BEATY, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by an infant daughter, Joyce Marilyn LYLE (1945) and a sister, Helen McNIVEN (1981.) Born in Southwold Township, June 5, 1914, the son of the late John A. and Bessie (HUNTER) LYLE. He was a retired farmer and was noted for his work in the Cattleman's Association. Gordon was a member of First United Church, Saint Thomas since 1956, formerly being active in various capacities within the church. Friends will be received at the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington Street, Saint Thomas on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where the funeral service will be held Friday at 11: 00 a.m. Interment in the Saint Thomas Cemetery, West Avenue. Memorial donations to the Elgin Manor Residents Council, the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario or the Alzheimer Society gratefully acknowledged.

Of Saint Thomas, on Friday, July 14, 2006, at the Saint Thomas-Elgin General Hospital, peacefully, surrounded by her loving family. Dearly loved wife of over 55 years of Lawrence Alan ABEL and loved mother of Lynn and her husband Leonard FIRMANI, Larry Wilfrid and his wife Jill ABEL, Patricia McBAIN, and Diane and her husband Joe LUNN, all of Saint Thomas, Alan ABEL of Guelph and Douglas and his wife Laura ABEL of Fergus. Loved sister of Audrey DENNY of Saint Thomas, Marion GILCHRIST of Saint Thomas, Jean IRWIN of Long Point and Donna VIRAG of Fingal. Predeceased by 3 sisters Mary FERGUSON, Verna DONALDSON and Patricia McMENEMY. Sadly missed by 13 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Marg was born in Talbotville on March 17, 1932, the daughter of the late Wilfrid and Dorothy (HARRIS) FIFE. She worked at the Memorial Hospital. Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin Street, Saint Thomas where funeral service will be held Monday at 3: 30 p.m. Cremation to follow. Visitation Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Remembances may be made to the Saint Thomas-Elgin General Hospital (Palliative Care Unit).

It is with great sadness that the family of Olive EGGLETON announce her passing at Extendicare Peterborough on Thursday, March 30, 2006 in her 102nd year. Beloved wife of the late Charles EGGLETON (1995.) Dear Mother of Marion MILBURN and her husband Gerald of Peterborough, Norma KEOUGH and her husband Micheal of Douro, Kenneth EGGLETON and his wife Margaret of Peterborough and the late Mansel EGGLETON and his surviving wife Bonnie of Oshawa. Loving Grandma of Gordon, Janet, Micheal, Connie, Leanne, Angula, Coleen, Mark, David, Robert and Katie. Loving Great-grandma of many. Predeceased by her siblings Vina, Elizabeth and Russell. A funeral service will be held at Comstock Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 356 Rubidge Street on Monday, April 3, 2006 at 3 p.m. with visitation one hour prior, Reverend Doctor Robert ROOT officiating. Peacefully after a lengthy illness on Wednesday, March 15th, 2006 in his 72nd year. Beloved husband of the late Margaret Rose MURPHY. Loving father of Deborah PIPE (Rick HEWITT,) Stephen George (Kelly FIFER,) Laura BURK/BURKE, and Margaret GEORGE (the late Mike HAWKINS.) Devoted grandfather of David, Christopher and Sarah PIPE, Steven and Laura FIFER, Kaleigh, McKenna and the late baby Kendra BURK/BURKE and Bradley, Dalton and Madyson GEORGE. He is pre-deceased by his parents Hugh H. and Nellie Mae Funkhouser WAKEMAN and his brother Stanley. Survived by his sister-in-law Wanda WAKEMAN. He will also be sadly missed by his lifelong friend Robert SPIKER Sr. and many other nieces, nephews and Friends.
