Peacefully, at Marian Villa on Friday, February 17th, 2006 Mrs. Audrey J. (WARD) PETERS of London and formerly of Arva in her 86th year. Beloved wife of the late George PETERS (1980.) Loving mother of Barry PETERS of London. Dear sister of Shirley WEBB of Hyde Park. Much loved grandma of Allyson FEICHT and her husband Ray of Ayr, and Curtis PETERS and Stephanie of Cambridge. Great grandma to Jakob, Ava, Hunter, Rouke and Royce. Predeceased by her brother Harry WARD. Friends will be received by the family from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, where the funeral service will be conducted in the chapel on Monday, February 20th, 2006 at 3: 00 p.m. with Reverend Marilyn CARTER of Arva United Church officiating. Interment Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Audrey are asked to consider the London Health Sciences Centre-Burn Unit or Arva United Church. BAKAN, Rita (née FEIERSTEIN)
Rita died of lymphoma at age 75 on March 14, 2006. She was a woman of great passion, intellect, warmth, strength, beauty and love. Rita leaves behind Paul, her beloved husband of 55 years their children Laura, Joel, and Michael; daughters in-law Rebecca and Megan; grandchildren Myim and Sadie, Isaac and Leah; her sister Pearl and brother in-law Ed; her sister Eleanor; her sister in-law Cynthia BLYNN and brother-in-law Marvin BLYNN; her sister-in-law Millie BAKAN, and many dear Friends and relatives. Rita was predeceased by her parents Fannie and Isaac FEIERSTEIN, her in-laws Max and Rose BAKAN, brothers-in-law Morris BAKAN and David BAKAN, sister-in- law and brother-in-law Selma and Bernard LESSER, her brother-in-law Morton KRONENBERG, and her daughter-in-law Marlee KLINE. Rita was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1930. She met Paul on the New York subway, which they both rode to school. They were married in 1950. Together they lived a wonderful 55 years, an adventure that began in Brooklyn, New York and took them to Urbana, Illinois East Lansing, Michigan; Stanford, California; Cambridge, England and finally Vancouver, British Columbia. Rita was educated at Brooklyn College, the University of Illinois, and Michigan State University, where she received a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology. She was a superb teacher whose efforts were appreciated by her students at Michigan State University College of Urban Studies, and the British Columbia Institute of Technology, Department of Basic Health Sciences, where she taught courses in human development to students in the nursing program. She served as the Senior Psychologist of the Vancouver Health Department. She made significant research contributions on the etiology and treatment of anorexia nervosa together with medical staff at the Saint Paul's Hospital, and she wrote an article on some medical aspects influencing the life of Queen Elizabeth I. A high point of Rita's life was her service as a lay member of the British Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons. Her love and keen intellect provided inspiration and support for the education and careers of her children. Rita's life was full of love, which she experienced and gave with great intensity. She had infinite love for her family. She thrived in the presence of her children and grandchildren. Her other loves included her Friends, reading, libraries, music, cooking, Chinese food, walking on Jericho Beach, Paris, the city of Vancouver, and trying to understand how the world works. Throughout her illness Rita and her family were grateful for the many expressions of love and support they received, and for the exceptional care from health professionals, especially Doctor Joseph Connors who helped her in every possible way for 10 years, Doctor Susan Harris, Dr. Beverly Spring, home care nurse Pat Richardson and others associated with the British Columbia Cancer Agency and the Vancouver Home Hospice Program. In lieu of flowers, donations in honor of Rita can be made to the British Columbia Cancer Foundation (specify "for lymphoma research under direction of Doctor Connors"), Suite 200, 601 W. Broadway, Vancouver, V5Z 4C2; the Vancouver Home Hospice Program (Leith memorial donation account), 2450 Ontario Street, Vancouver, V5T 4T7; the Vancouver Hospice Society, P.O. Box 39094, 3695 W. 10 Ave., Vancouver, V6R 1G0; or a charity of your choice. A funeral service will be held at the Beth Israel Cemetery, 1721 Willingdon Ave., Burnaby, British Columbia on Wednesday March 15, 2006 at 2: 00 p.m. Shiva on Wednesday and Thursday: details to be announced at funeral service.

Comfortably at North York General Hospital on Monday, October 30, 2006 in her 88th year. Deeply saddened are her beloved and devoted husband of 63 years, Donald Jardine, and their dear son James Donald (Vicki). Grammy will be missed by her precious grandchildren, James and Kristine. Predeceased by brother Leslie HAGERMAN (Irma) and sister Marion. Loving aunt to Robert HAGERMAN (Suzanne and daughter Michelle,) Joan HAGERMAN (daughter Kimberley) and Bruce HAGERMAN. Also aunt to Don's nieces and nephews: Susan CONNELL, David (deceased) and Earle PARRISH (Joanne), Jane KILTHEI and Nancy COCKS. Born in 1918, Eleanor grew up in Saskatoon and was the President of the student body of Household Science when she graduated from the University of Saskatchewan. She worked as a dietitian at the University of Toronto, on wartime nutrition for the troops, and was Assistant Superintendent of the Hart House Dining Hall where she met Don, a fellow Westerner from the Hat! A heart-felt thank you to her wonderful doctors, especially Alan FEGELMAN, Stanley FEINBERG and Russell TANZER, the nurses of North York General Hospital and the terrific care-givers from Senior Lifestyle Solutions. The family will receive Friends at the Humphrey Funeral Home - A.W. Miles Chapel, 1403 Bayview Avenue on Thursday, November 9th from 6-8 p.m. A private family service will be held on Saturday, November 11th at Saint_John's York Mills Anglican Church, 19 Don Ridge Drive. Interment at a later date in the family cemetery at Hagerman Corners near Unionville. In lieu of flowers, it would be greatly appreciated if Friends, planning an expression of remembrance, would consider North York General Hospital or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario.

Passed away peacefully after a long, courageous battle with cancer on Sunday, June 4, 2006. Survived by her beloved husband Ken, loving daughters Samantha, Katie, Vicki and Heather, cherished mother Marlene DAS NEVES, father Bernard (Bunny) FEINSTEIN and wife Barbara, grandmother Fanny FEINSTEIN, in-laws Tilly and Ken GOODMAN, brother and sister-in-law Todd FEINSTEIN and Jennifer SHULMAN, step-sister Deborah KAPLAN and step-brothers Jamie KAPLAN and Stacy STEINBERG, sister and brothers-in-law Dennis, Valerie, David and MaryLynne GOODMAN, and also her loving nieces and nephews Steven, Jackie, Christopher and Lindsey GOODMAN and Aidan FEINSTEIN.
