HOLM, E. Henry
79, died peacefully at home in the presence of his family on February 15, 2006, in Sedona, Arizona, after a brief stay in hospital. Born 1926 in Stockholm, Sweden, Henry was the youngest-ever Chemical Engineering graduate of Stockholm's S.T.I., where he evening-schooled himself and met classmate Margaretha ERICSSON, his future wife. He later became a business administration graduate. Henry worked in Sweden 1943-50; in New York City 1950-55; at the Lukens and Latrobe steel companies in Pennsylvania 1955-64 in the marketing arm of Canada's Falconbridge mining group in Toronto 1964-77, and as Exec. "But best is retirement life since 1981 in wonderful Sedona", where he enjoyed an active retired life and new experiences at home and overseas, often touring his beloved America by motorcycle. Passionate about world politics and history, he felt very fortunate to have documented his own family roots back to the 1400's, and of his international life. He never met a dog he couldn't love, adopting many and admiring all. Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Margaret; son Nils in Toronto, daughter-in-law Andrea, grandchildren Nicholas and Emma Margaret; and daughter Ingrid in Victoria, British Columbia, son-in-law Quentin and granddaughter Kristina; and many family members in Sweden. Pre-deceased are parents Ernst Edmund HOLM and Hanna Lovisa HOLM (née BARKAEUS,) and brothers Gote HOLM and Henning HOLM, all of Sweden. A private service was held at Sedona Community Cemetery.
