Hassan
Died on December 8 at Toronto Western Hospital. He was born in
1912 in Tehran, Iran. He began his career as a teacher and principal
at Abadan Institute of Technology. In 1939 he joined the Anglo
Iranian Oil Company (which later became the National Iranian
Oil Company) and he retired as an executive after a long and
distinguished career. He was asked to return and serve the Oil
Company in the days preceding the Iranian Revolution of 1979 and
did so for a brief period of time. He was an active freemason
and was Lieutenant Sovereign Grand Commander of the Supreme Council
of Iran and past Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Iran. He
moved to Toronto in 1983. He will be greatly missed by his wife
Ghamar, daughters Narges and Laleh, sons-in-law Christopher
ELWOOD
and Andrew
SPEARS, grandchildren Josephine, Isabelle, Alex and
Cyrus, brother Farid, sisters Forough and Mahin, his extended
family and Friends, his former students and many others whose
lives he touched. A memorial service will be held on Sunday,
December 17 at 3 p.m. at Hart House, University of Toronto. In
lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the Dunblaine
School, a school devoted to teaching children with learning differences
(21 Deloraine Avenue, Toronto M5M 2A8)
