Tom was employed
as a licensed funeral director at the Sifton Funeral Home, Saint Thomas
from 1958 until his retirement in 1986. He previously had operated
the Edgar Funeral Home in Gorrie. He was an active member of
Central United Church, Saint Thomas and was a life member of Forest
Lodge #162, Ancient, Free and Accepted Masons, having received
his 50 year pin in 2005. Friends will be received at the Sifton
Funeral Home, 118 Wellington Street, Saint Thomas on Tuesday from
2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Central
United Church (Wellington and Moore St.), Saint Thomas on Wednesday
at 1: 30 p.m. Following cremation, interment in Gorrie Cemetery.

Our beloved mother, Annette R. Oliver, age 70, passed away peacefully
June 20, 2006 in Morgan Hill, California. She is survived by
her children Douglas with wife Sheila, Kenneth with wife Lisa,
and Marjorie with husband Christopher, and her grandchildren
Alexandra, Phillip, Rachel, Sean and Kendra. She also leaves
behind her brother Garth, her brother David with wife Margot,
her ex-husband but dear friend Wallace, her best friend Lyn

and her nieces and nephews. She joins her mother Anne, her father
Garth, her first husband Stuart, and her recently departed sister
Marjorie. Annette enjoyed a varied and interesting life; growing
up in Toronto, living in England, the New York City area, and
then remaining near her family in the San Francisco Bay Area.
She enjoyed most things artistic and ran her own stained glass
studio in Los Altos for a number of years. In later years she
returned to her accounting skills and worked many years at the
Santa Clara County Fairgrounds. Annette's warm nature, quick
wit and intelligence, great sense of humor and style will be
sorely missed by all who loved her. A memorial will be held at
Woodlawn Memorial Park in Guelph on Saturday August 5th at 10 a.m.
