WILLIAMS,
Orvel
Stanley
His devoted family sadly announces the death of Orvel, on January
28, 2006, at the age of 88. His beloved wife and close companion,
Della (née
FOURNIER) is left to mourn, together with their three
loving daughters Karen (Paul
DZATKO,)
Shelley
(Scott
BARCLAY,)
and Heather (Marko
NOGA,) as well as "the apples of his eye,"
his adored and adoring grandchildren, Kyle and Jillian
NOGA.
Orvel was a Torontonian, born-and-bred, who recalled his life
with his four siblings, raised by their deserted mother during
the Dirty Thirties, when times were hard and people were poor.
He originally taught himself to play the guitar, progressed to
lessons and soon began to play professionally with small groups
of musicians in gigs around the city and in cottage country during
the summer months. Before his marriage, he worked at Massey Harris
and then became the owner of the BA Gasoline Station at Queen
and Gladstone from 1947 to 1953. Playing tennis kept him in good
shape and together with Della, they were avid supporters of their
local tennis club (Orchard Heights) and played for many years.
In fact, Orvel played right up to the age of 86. He was a gentle
man and gentleman, a family man who had a long and fulfilling
life centering around his family and Friends, who now have many
fond memories to sustain them in their sorrow. "And I love you
so" A Memorial Gathering in celebration of Orvel's Life will
be held at a future date at The Simple Alternative Funeral Centre,
1535 South Gateway Road, Mississauga (905) 602-1580.
