2006, at the Mindemoya Cemetery. All of Lawrences' family would

David's passion was photography. He had a talent for 'framing
the shot.' He always found the angle that made the most mundane
subjects beautiful and novel. He loved playing with reflections
and with light. David graduated at the top of his class in Applied
Photography at Sheridan College, Oakville, in 1996. He moved
to Vancouver shortly thereafter. David's occupation was in Hospitality.
He excelled as a hotel front desk manager. David was named Employee
of the Year at the Century Plaza Hotel in 2002. In 2001 The mayor
of Vancouver presented him with the City of Vancouver Tourism
Award. David earned the Team Service Award in 1998 at the Westin
Bayshore. He was named Employee of the Month at Toronto's Park
Plaza Hotel in September 1996. David graduated from the Hotel
and Convention Management program at Centennial College of Applied
Arts and Technology, Scarborough, in 1989. David traveled the world,
with sojourns to New Zealand, Switzerland, Morocco and the Czech
Republic, as well as sea to sea across Canada. He started out
in Whitby, Ontario, where he grew up on an apple farm. David
passed away surrounded by his loved ones. Special thanks to staff
at Intensive Care Unit-2, Vancouver General, who gave him the
best care following his fall. Words cannot express the pain and
sorrow from his unexpected and tragic death. David you are truly
loved and sadly missed. Over and out.

Civil engineer, naval architect and yachtsman, born in Toronto
on September 6, 1862
Educated at Upper Canada College and at the University of Toronto,
he became chief engineer and later chairman of Dominion Bridge
Co. In 1917, he was director of the St. Lawrence Bridge Co. when
the Quebec Bridge, the world's longest cantilever span, opened
to traffic. He was also the first to develop electric welding.
A keen sailor, he designed and built about 150 yachts. In 1896,
sailing for the Royal St. Lawrence Yacht Club of Montreal, he
skippered Glencairn I to victory over the Americans in the Seawanhaka
Cup, a small-yacht alternative to the America's Cup. He successfully
defended the cup for the next eight years.
