Died Friday, May 5th, 2006 at Sunnybrook Hospital in her 84th year. Loving wife of Peter Alexander HERTZBERG. Married London May 1943. Survived by her son Stephen and daughter Debbie HOFFMAN, their spouses Pat and Larry, and her loving grandchildren Carly and Adam HOFFMAN, and Vanessa and David HERTZBERG. Daughter of the late A.K. and Constance (BLUEMEL) BRUCE of London, England sister of Margaret DITCHAM (Bruce) and the late Elizabeth BRUCE in the United Kingdom. Educated at St. Pauls School, London. Served during World War 2 with The Mechanized Transport Corps trucking supplies to Air bases throughout the United Kingdom and later with The American Red Cross in Newbury. Was active in volunteer work with The Girl Guides, and The Canadian Junior International Equestrian Foundation. A staunch member of The Garden Club of Toronto, The Ontario Chapter of The American Ivy Society. A sustaining member of The Ontario Branch of The Herb Society of America. The family will receive Friends at the Humphrey Funeral Home - A.W. Miles Chapel, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Eglinton Avenue East), on Wednesday, May 10th from 2: 30 to 3: 30 p.m., with service to follow in the chapel at 3:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation would be appreciated to The Sunnybrook Foundation, 2075 Bayview Avenue, Toronto, Ontario M4N 3M5.

The loving and devoted mother to Stephen, John and Douglas. Faithful to the memory of her beloved late husband James Robert GAMMAGE (1975), grandmother to Paige (Clinton), James (Lisa) and Christopher, "Grammadele", great-grandmother to Brayden, Kaylin and Luc. An adored aunt and cousin in an extended family, a respected and admired neighbour and friend to many for her volunteerism. Adele graduated O.C.E. and Trinity College 3T3 (St. Hilda's). President of her alumnae for many years and was a special friend of her Jim's 3T5 Engineering. A loyal member of the Anglican Churches of St. Clement for 70 years (president York Group) and the Redeemer, Rosseau where she spent her summers since infancy. Adele was admired for her indomitable spirit, her love of music, painting, pets and the home she built and lived in for sixty-one years. A lady much admired for her strengths, resilience, taste and determination, her laughter and kind hands. Friends may call at the Morley Bedford Funeral Home, 159 Eglinton Ave. West (two lights west of Yonge), on Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 p.m. Funeral Service on Monday, February 13, 2006 at 11 a.m. at The Church of St. Clement, 59 Briar Hill Road (at Duplex). Peacefully at Parkwood Hospital, London, on Tuesday, January 17th, 2006, Elmer F. DUFTON of London in his 91st year. Beloved husband of Jean (BRODIE) (ELLIOT/ELLIOTT) DUFTON and predeceased by his first wife Lois (PENDLETON) (McKENNA) DUFTON. Dear father of Sharon DITCHER (Geoffrey) of London, David DUFTON (Patricia) of Uxbridge, Carole DUTTON (Richard) of London, Shirley MAY (Alex) of Arkona, Doris HALL (Douglas) of London, and Roger ELLIOT/ELLIOTT (Lee) of McGregor. Predeceased by Helen GEORGE (Dennis,) Calvin McKENNA (Judy), Allen ELLIOT/ELLIOTT (Gladys), and Douglas ELLIOT/ELLIOTT. Dear brother of Stanley DUFTON of London and predeceased by his brother Roy DUFTON. Also loved by his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Elmer was a proud veteran of World War 2, and also loved to work with his hands, his interests including fishing, carpentry, wood carving, clock making and oil painting. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London (433-5184), where the complete funeral service will be conducted in the chapel on Saturday, January 21st at 1 p.m. with Reverend Darrell SHAULE officiating. It is with profound sadness our family announces the passing of Rosa D'UVA at the age of 78 years, with her loving family by her side, God called her home on Thursday, November 16, 2006, at Leisureworld Brampton Woods. She will be reunited in heaven with her loving husband, Eugenio. She will be fondly remembered by her children Mike and Gilda D'UVA, Erminia and Angelo D'UVA, Carmelina and Giuseppe REMIGIO, Achille and Antonietta D'UVA. A devoted and wonderful Nonna to 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Loving sister to Maria YACCA, Antonietta NOTTE (deceased) and Nicolina DITTA. She will be remembered for her generosity, love of family and passion for cooking. Quietly on June 9, 2006 after fighting a lengthy battle with cancer. She will be sadly missed by her loving husband Dick and her very best friend, Cathy PROWSE, as well as her many Friends in Toronto and Montreal. In addition to her husband she is survived by her chosen children and their families: Jill BROOK and James HOWDEN of Beaconsfield, Québec and their children Caitlin and Kiel, Rick and Carolyn BROOK of Connecticut, U.S.A. and their children, Christopher, Kyra and Avery, Lori BROOK of Oakville, Ontario and her daughter Heather, and William BROOK and Darolyn DANIEL of Calgary, Alberta and their children, Gordon, Elizabeth and Mark. A "celebration of life" service will be held June 22, 2006 at 12: 30 p.m. at St. Philips Church, 31 St. Phillip's Road, Etobicoke followed by a reception at St George's Golf Club, 1668 Islington Avenue, Etobicoke.
