AKINS passed away on November 11, 2006 in her
95th year at the Village Seniors Community Hanover.
Sadie was born on December 29, 1911 at Thornbury, the daughter
of Hazzard and Elizabeth
(HARVEY)
WARD.
She attended school in
Kimberley completing the equivalent of Grade 10.
On February 27, 1932 she married Harry
AKINS who predeceased
her. Most of her married life she lived at Flesherton and later
at Markdale and Hanover.
During her working career Sadie worked in a jewellery store,
grocery store, footwear at Markdale and when she retired she
was working at Bob Avis Drugs. She had many hobbies -knitting,
sewing and made many quilts which her family and Friends will
enjoy for many years to come. She was a member of the Seniors
Drop-In at Flesherton as well as a member and attendee of Flesherton
United Church.

Mona Rae LIBIN passed away Monday June 12, 2006. She is survived
by Alvin, her husband of 53 years, her son Bobby (LeeAnn), her
grandchildren Eda, Nora and Louis and her special friend Chris

Born in Calgary on August 9, 1930 to Louis and Eda
DIAMOND,
Mona proudly called Calgary home and from there she actively
pursued her many interests. She loved animals, fishing, golf
and time with her grandchildren. She was passionate about improving
health care and about the Calgary Flames. Mona was instrumental
in creating the Alvin and Mona Libin Foundation (of which she
was President) and the Libin Cardiovascular Institute of Alberta.
She worked tirelessly for the Foothills Hospital, the University
of Calgary and was a dedicated volunteer and leader for many
causes. Mona was a friend to all, and will be sorely missed.
Funeral services will be at the Beth Tzedec Synagogue (1325 Glenmore
Trail, access from Glenmore Trail eastbound onto service road
only) Wednesday, June 14 at 2: 00 with burial at the Erlton Cemetary.

Passed away unexpectedly on Friday June 23, 2006 at the age of
81. Beloved wife of the late Matthew. Much loved mother of Desmond
and his wife Paula, Trevor and his wife Ann, Karl and his wife
Pascale. Loving grandmother of Julian, Justin, Jeffrey, Todd,
Eva, Katia, Kristophe and the late Gordon. Dear sister of Noel
(Hazel), Arthur (the late Eileen), the late Ron (Janet), the
late Sheila (the late Wilf), and Alma (Austin). She will be fondly
remembered by her many nieces and nephews as the Matriarch of
the Pinto and Dias families and for her love of life and refined
culinary skills. Friends may call the Turner and Porter "Peel"
Chapel, 2180 Hurontario Street, Mississauga (Hwy 10 N of Queen
Elizabeth Way) on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass
will be held at Saint Dominic's Church, 625 Atwater Avenue, Mississauga
on Wednesday June 28, 2006 at 1: 00 p.m. Interment Assumption

On Tuesday October 3, 2006 in Fredericton, New Brunswick, William
Joseph READY passed away at the age of 77 years. Bill was born
in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island on May 9, 1929, the son
of William and Margaret

Bill graduated from
St. Dunstan's University and took his commission as an artillery
officer in the Airborne, 1st Light Battery. His military career
(1949-1994) included service from Troop Officer to Battery Commander,
and technical appointments such as Trials Officer, Instructor
in Gunnery, and Foreign Liaison and Chief Protocol Officer. He
retired as a Lt. Col. with the reserves, after commanding the
Provincial Warning Centre in Charlottetown. Bill was predeceased
by his parents, his sisters, Bernice, Betty, and Elaine, and
his dear wife of 53 years, Nancy Helen Bell Beer

In his 90th year, John Rayson
ADAM/ADAMS passed away peacefully after
a long struggle with complications after a stroke. He died at
Brampton Memorial Hospital with his wife and daughter at his
side. John was the loving husband of 53 years to Maureen

1997. He was the loving grandfather of Ruthmarie (Halifax, Nova
Scotia), Christopher, Andrea, Hannah and Susanna

RAYSON of York, England. John R. was born
in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. He leaves his brother Richard (Anne)
ADAM/ADAMS and nieces Barbara (Roy,) Sheila (Brian and family,) Arlene
and nephew Murray (Shauna and family), all residing in Saskatchewan,
and cousins in British Columbia and
in England. John joined the
Royal Canadian Air Force and was loaned to the Royal Air Force
as part of their Radar Crew. He was stationed in North Africa,
Italy and Northern England. After the war, he returned to the
University of British Columbia and received his B.A. and B.Ed.
in 1949. In 1950, he received a B.L.S. from the Faculty of Library
Science (University of Toronto). In 1952, he married Maureen
Dolores DIAZ (B.L.S., 1950.) He worked in the Public and University
Library fields. He was branch librarian in Niagara Falls, chief
librarian in Welland and Brampton, Ontario, acquisitions librarian
in University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon, reference and circulation
librarian in Leeds, England, Mississauga and Etobicoke Public
Libraries. He also worked for Sheridan College in Brampton. He
was the co-founder with wife Maureen of the family puppetry theatre
- The Adams Marionettes. He designed and made the marionettes'
stage, and he developed the sound and lighting for their marionette
productions. The whole family was involved. They performed in
libraries and schools in Southern Ontario. When John retired
he and Maureen travelled to many puppetry festivals in Canada
and the U.S.A. John wrote articles for the local paper in Welland
and in Brampton. His interests were in science and he loved books,
especially on cosmology. Although he suffered from clinical depression,
he remained a very creative, caring and loving father, husband
and grandfather. The family would appreciate donations in John
R's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian
Mental Health Association or to the Unitarian Congregation of
South Peel. Cremation has take place, arranged by Ridley Funeral
Home, 416-259-3705. Celebration of John R's life will be held
at the Unitarian Church of South Peel on Sunday, March 12, 2006
at 3 p.m.
