HOLMES, Donald Sylvester " Homer"
Passed away suddenly at the Collingwood General and Marine Hospital on Monday, October 2, 2006. Formerly of Hatherton, in his 71st Year. Beloved husband of Donna (YULE.) Loving father of Susen HOLMES (Craig HARRISON) of Georgetown, Roger (Anna) of Guelph, Debi (John) ARNOLD of Maxwell, Leslie CARLETON of Maxwell. Stepfather to Sherry JAMESON (Jim DEHANN) of Collingwood, Valerie LAING of Collingwood and Will (Sheila) LAING of Wasaga Beach'. Lovingly remembered by grandchildren Katherine, James HOLMES, Wesley, Nikita ARNOLD, Sommer JAMESON, Christopher LAING, Jacob, Issac FIELD and great-granddaughter Alexus YOUNG. Sadly missed by sister Janet (David) WOODHOUSE of Markdale. Also by many nieces, nephews, extended family and Friends. Predeceased by parents Sylvester HOLMES and Amy GRUMMETT and brother Jack. Funeral Service were held Friday, October 6, 2006 at Chatterson Funeral Home, Collingwood. Interment at Maxwell Cemetery. Donations to Heart and Stroke and Diabetes.

Peacefully with his family by his side at Woodstock General Hospital on Sunday, January 8th, 2006, Wray G. SWEARS of Woodstock in his 82nd year. Beloved husband of Evelyn J. SWEARS (née SMITH.) Loved father of David and his wife Marlene of Woodstock, Dale DEHEER and her husband John of Woodstock and Brenda MIKLOS and her husband Thomas of Brantford. Dear grandfather of Kip and Tiffany SWEARS, Tyler and Amy DEHEER and Carly MIKLOS. Brother-in-law of Bernice SWEARS of Brantford. Wray is predeceased by his sisters Ruby ANDERSON and Dorothy CATHERWOOD and his brother Melvin SWEARS. Friends may call at the R.D. Longworth Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock (539-0004) on Saturday, January 14, 2006 from 10: 00-11:00 a.m. where a memorial service will be held in the chapel at 11: 00 a.m. with Reverend David WOODALL officiating. Peacefully, at Saint Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Wednesday, November 8th, 2006, Peter N. NIELSON in his 92nd year. Lovingly remembered by his best friend and wife of 62 years, Anne NIELSON daughter Toby DEHOOG of Saint Thomas and son, Tim and his wife Sharon of Dutton. A dedicated Granddad to Robin, Katelyn, Morgan, Shelby and Caleb. Also survived by niece, Anna-Marie MELLET of London. Pre-deceased by his son Chris (1977). Peter was a School Teacher and Principal for the Peel Board of Education. Peter served in the Royal Canadian Air Force (1941-45) in Nova Scotia and Newfoundland then overseas as a navigator during World War 2. After retiring, Peter enjoyed growing trees in his nursery outside of Saint Thomas and was a 40 year member of the Caledon Ski Club. A private family service is planned. Of Forest passed away peacefully at Bluewater Health Norman Site on Wednesday, June 21, 2006. Born in Oosterhout, Holland, Adriana was in her 80th year. Loving wife of Case SMEEKENS for 53 years. Dear mother and grandmother of Jenny and Curt SLOAN (London,) Frank and Barb SMEEKENS and their children Tim, Sarah, and Jessica (Thedford,) Connie and Steven MARSHALL and their sons Hunter and Cole (London,) Wilma and Leon ZERKO and their children Allison, Vincent, and Jacob (Camlachie,) JoAnne and Scott MARSHALL and their daughters Jenna and Emily (Camlachie), Marieta and Brian SMITH and their children Heather, Daniel and Kevin (Forest) and Laurette and Ron JONES (Brights Grove.) She was a special sister-in-law to Jack and Wilma SMEEKENS and Joe and Joanne SMEEKENS (Forest.) Also survived by her sister Pia DEHOON and her brother Pete VANDENHEYKANT and 9 brother and sister-in-laws in Holland. Predeceased by 4 sisters, 2 brothers and 9 brother and sister-in-laws in Holland. Family and Friends will be received at Ronn E. Dodge Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 9 James Street South, Forest on Friday, June 23, 2006 at 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Parish prayers will be offered at the funeral home on Friday evening at 6: 30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Christopher Church, Forest on Saturday, June 24, 2006, at 11: 00 a.m. Father David RANKIN officiating. Interment Beechwood Cemetery. Sympathy through donations to The Parkinson Society or St. Christopher Church Building Fund would be appreciated by the family. (Cheques only received at Funeral Home.) A memorial tree will be planted in memory of Mrs. SMEEKENS by the Dodge Family.
