Passed away peacefully, in Toronto, on Tuesday, November 28, 2006, in his 88th year. Beloved husband of Theda (née MacKELLAR.) Loving father of Catherine Ann and her husband John FENN, Craig Edward HUCAL and his wife Anne. Dear grandfather of Michael Edward and Catherine "Catie" Alice FENN and Andrew Craig and Cristina Marjorie Jacqueline HUCAL. Brother of the late Olga (Nick,) Nettie, Paul (Clare), Alice (Lyman) and Walter. Brother-in-law of Ian MacKELLAR (Eileen,) and the late Catherine "Kitty" PRATT (William "LeRoy"). Uncle of Ron RUDAN, Angela STRAKER, Paul Jr., Mike PRATT and Debi PRATT, Sandy, Jim MacKELLAR, Lori DEGAGNE and Scott MacKELLAR. McCUTCHEON, Frederick Smith (1912-2006)
After a long and difficult struggle borne with dignity and courage, Frederick Smith McCUTCHEON passed away peacefully at Sunnybrook Hospital, Veterans Wing, Toronto, on May 11, 2006 surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of Edna for 62 years. Loving father of Leslie and her husband David JEANNERET; Dennis and his wife Chris; and Lorrie and her husband Lorne DEGAUST. Proud grandfather of Marc, Brent and Stephanie Jeanneret (Manet MANNING) and Jennifer McCUTCHEON. Great-grandfather of Simone and Maxine JEANNERET- MANNING. Survived by twin brother Rev. Clark McCUTCHEON and his wife Helen of Saskatoon. Predeceased by his brother Joseph. Long standing member of Saint Paul's United Church, Oakville and honourary grandfather of the Tan Family. A World War 2 veteran, Fred served overseas with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Provost Corps and later was an Area Counsellor with Veterans Affairs Canada. Former Commodore of the Oakville Yacht Squadron, Fred was an accomplished sailor and keen competitor who was happiest whiling away the hours on boat repairs and racing with family and Friends. He embraced the gifts and challenges that life offered with unwavering kindness, generosity, fairness and a ready smile. Special thanks to the entire staff of K3E and especially to Chito GONZAGA, Fatima BRUNNING and the late Izona FACY, for their loving care and support for 12 years. Visitation will be held at the Oakview Funeral Home, 56 Lakeshore Rd. W. (one block east of Kerr) on Sunday, May 14, 2006 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held Monday, May 15, 2006 at 1 p.m. Saint Paul's United Church, 454 Rebecca Street, Oakville followed by interment at Trafalgar Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Veterans Comfort Fund at Sunybrook Hospital or the War Amps of Canada. The words of William Arthur Ward sum up Fred's remarkable attitude - "the pessimist complains about the wind; the optimist expects it to change; the realist adjust the sails." His compassion, integrity and good nature were an inspiration to everyone he met. He will be missed greatly and remembered fondly.

Peacefully on July 16, 2006 after a brief battle with cancer. Born May 29, 1931 in Montreal he is survived by his dear wife of 54 years, Elizabeth 'Betty' COATES. He will be sadly missed by his daughters Karen, Sandra and Tami and sons-in-law Angelo and Andrew. He also leaves behind his grandchildren Darryl LEDUC, Christine DEGRAW and Zachari, Emma, Ariel and Avery SMITH. Harry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend and his wonderful sense of humour will be dearly missed. She will be especially missed by her immediate family, Tom FINKELSTEIN and his wife Pamela MADALENA of Comox, British Columbia, Sue and Bernie PUCKER of Boston, Massachusetts, Roselle ABRAMOWITZ of Stowe, Vermont and Harvey LEVINE and his partner Louise Trudel of Montreal. She adored and was adored by her grandchildren: Cara FINKELSTEIN, Marcie and Bill SCUDDER, Joseph and Melanie ABRAMOWITZ, Naomi and Michael COHEN, Michael and Gigi PUCKER, Ken and Leslie PUCKER, Jon and Marcie PUCKER. Her great grandchildren were a great source of joy and focus for her. So many around the world counted Freda as a friend and many others adopted her as family because she cared so much about the well-being of so many.
