VLACH, Alexander Karel
In the words of Alex, Cancer sucks! Alexander Karel VLACH passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2006 and was reunited in Heaven with his mother Jean TAILOR/TAYLOR, his 2 grandfathers Karel VLACH, Robert TAILOR/TAYLOR, his uncles Bob TAILOR/TAYLOR and Alam FARGHALY. Alex's spirit, love, laughter courage and zest for life will forever remain an integral part of so many families including Karel, Jennifer and Lara VLACH, Mike, Sherry, Allen, Michelle and Mark LUKAS, Peter and Lili RECHNITZER, Bea TAILOR/TAYLOR and George MacKIE, Al KRISCHE. Alex is loved by all his aunts, uncles and their children; Eric and Tiana VLACH, Michael and Holli VLACH, Munca FARGHALY, Hani FARGHALY, Barbara and Ron MARTIN, Casper and Anna KOEVOETS, Jim and Wendy TAILOR/TAYLOR, Deb TAILOR/TAYLOR, Chuck TAILOR/TAYLOR, Kelly and David KEITH, Mike and Liz KRISCHE, and John KRISCHE. Alex will forever remain in the heart of his girlfriend Sarah TEW and his best friend Lee GONEAU. Alex was inspired, motivated and supported by; Central High School, all the students and teachers, especially John VOUVALIDIS, Phil HARRIS, Martine Bracey HOFFMAN and Sharon Young KIPP. Thank you for celebrating Alex's achievements by awarding him the Ernie McTavish award and later developing the Alex Vlach award, The Make a Wish Foundation, Lori QUICK who is so wonderful and made Alex feel super special, Camp Trillium for allowing Alex to use his life experiences for the good of other children and their families, Pediatric Medical Day Unit, Doctor Michael LEAKER, Barb DAGELMAN, Cathy WILSON, Todd WHARTON and Danielle CAUTIDELLA. Your smiling faces and unwavering support gave Alex strength and vitality. Of Saint Thomas and formerly of Brampton on Sunday, October 1, 2006, at the Saint Thomas-Elgin General Hospital, in his 79th year. Dearly loved husband of Doris L. (HOPKINS) AGNEW and loved father of Paul AGNEW of London, England and Pam AGNEW and her partner Kevin FERRIS of Port Stanley. Dear brother of Janet DAGENAIS of Montreal. Predeceased by a brother and a sister. Sadly missed by a number of nieces and nephews. Bill was born in Ste. Agathe, Quebec on June 19, 1928, the son of the late William and Mary Elizabeth (MILHENCH) AGNEW. He was a member of Saint Paul's Masonic Lodge #107 A.F.and A.M., Lambeth, the Scotish Rite, the Mocha Temple Shrine, London and the Hi-Ro Shrine Club, Saint Thomas. A Public Memorial Service will be held at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin Street, Saint Thomas on Friday at 1: 00 p.m. Cremation has taken place. Flowers gratefully declined. Cherished father of Karen (Tom DAGG) and Calvin CHRISTIE. He will lovingly be remembered by his grandchildren, Jennah and Eric. He was predeceased by his parents, Carrie (LEGGE) and George CHRISTIE and eight brothers and sisters. George was a proud veteran of World War 2, servicing overseas for four years with the Royal Canadian Air Force 409 Squadron Night Fighters. Peacefully at St. Heliers Hospital, London, England on March 23, 2006 in his 90th year. Beloved husband of Nancy (Sao Sein Nyunt). Loving father of Nancy Jean (Mrs. George CZERNY- HOLOWNIA;) Derek and Raymond. Grandfather to Stephen, Douglas, Matthew and Kevin. Great-grandfather of Sofie, Quinlan, Jack, Oliver and Lauren. Brother to Audrey (Jimmy) O'DWYER and Mary (Laulie) SCOTT. Predeceased by brothers, George and Alastair and sister Dione. Funeral service to begin at 4 p.m., on Tuesday, April 4, 2006 at Putney Vale Cemetery and Crematorium in London, England. Major Julian DAGLISH, M.B.E., was born September 19, 1916 in Garston, County of Liverpool, England. He was one of six children born to marine engineer, George Grant DAGLISH and his wife Lucy Elizabeth DAGLISH (formerly MacDONALD.) Mr. DAGLISH's career path took him into the military and he became a Second Lieutenant with the 7th (Burma Police) The Burma Rifles, stationed in Burma, which is now known as Myanmar. Eventually, Mr. DAGLISH was appointed Commandant, Northern Shan States Frontier Constabulary, a jurisdiction which covered the four main substates of North Hsenwi, South Hsenwi, Manglun and Kokang. While stationed in Lashio, Burma, Mr. DAGLISH met his bride-to-be, Nancy at the funeral of her father, Sao Naw Mong (Sao Song) in 1945 in nearby Mongyai, Sao Now Mong was the Sabwa (chief) of Hsenwi State. Mr. DAGLISH married Nancy (Sao Sein Nyunt) on December 23, 1946. At that time, he was District Superintendent of Police, Burma. Mr. And Mrs. DAGLISH moved to England in 1952, at first living in Liverpool and then moving to Wimbledon Park, London. By that time, they had a four year old daughter Nancy Jean. Later, they had two sons, Derek Roland and Raymond Frank. For his distinguished military service, Mr. DAGLISH - then a captain - received the honour of Member of the Military Division of the Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.). He was congratulated on his M.B.E. by King George The Sixth. Among other medals received by Mr. DAGLISH are two defence medals, as well as The Burma Star and the 1939-1945 Star. Mr. DAGLISH was a member of the Royal Over-Seas League, The Victory Services Club, and The British-Burma Society. He supported many organizations including The Indian Police (United Kingdom) Association; The Worshipful Company of Paviors. He was an active supporter of arts and cultural organizations. After his retirement from the military, Mr. DAGLISH worked as an accountant until he retired to further enjoy his interest in arts, travel and genealogy.

Died peacefully at Grey Bruce Health Services, Southampton, on Wednesday November 8, 2006. Ben BELROSE of Southampton in his 78th year. Survived by his loving wife Elsa Sybil DAGSVIK of Summit Place, Owen Sound, by his daughters, Debra and her husband Ed MATLOCK of Tara and Heather and her husband Jim NOORDERMEER of Grimsby and by his four granddaughters, Emily MATLOCK and her partner Rob CROWLEY of London, Kelly, Erica and Jayme NOORDERMEER, all of Grimsby. At Ben's request there will be no Visitation or Memorial Service. Cremation. Expressions of Remembrance to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Alzheimer Society.
