Mr. Leonard H.A. FLUHRER passed away at Meadowpark Nursing Home on Sunday, January 8th, 2006 in his 95th year. Predeceased by his wife Edna and brother Douglas. Survived by his son Leonard (Joyce), 2 grand_sons, Leonard III and Andrew, 3 great grandchildren and sisters-in-law Jean FLUHRER, Alma SMITH and Lillian CAMPBELL. Len will be sadly missed by his special friend Marion CULBERT and family as well as many other Friends. Friends may call at the Lloyd R. Lawrence McMURRAY, a resident of Mindemoya died at home on October 28th, 2006 at the age of 80. He was born in Tehkummah, son of the late John James and Mina (KAY) McMURRAY. Lawrence was predeceased by his first wife Rosie. His wife Eleanor (McALLISTER) and his children, son Len and wife Shannon and daughter Freda will sadly miss him. Grandpa greatly loved and adored by his grandchildren Bryan, Todd, Ashley, Jennifer of Owen Sound. Dearest brother to Orland and family of Elliott Lake, Floyd and family of Brampton, Glen and family of Hepworth, Percy and family of Erin, Scott and family of Nova Scotia and dearest brother to Bernice DUGGAN and family of Tehkummah, Marie KAY and family of Thunderbay, Sally SMITH and family of Alberta. He was predeceased by his sister Louise BATES and family of Owen Sound and brothers Ken and family, Bill and family. Lawrence will be remembered and sadly missed by so many Friends who were like family to him. Such as his and Eleanor's room-mates and staff members of the Field House, Hope farm and Community Living, Mums Restaurant in Mindemoya. His presence will be greatly missed. As of October 28th Mr. Lawrence McMURRAY returned back home to be with his Heavenly Father. And Friends and family said their final goodbyes on November 2nd, 2006, at the Mindemoya Cemetery. All of Lawrences' family would like to take this time to express our condolences and support to all those whose lives have been touched by his loving presence. Special thanks and enormous appreciation to all of those who cared for him especially on his last days. The staff members and room-mates of his residence. MILNE and of Kevin R. MARSHALL. Beloved great-grandmother of Frederick S.W. MILNE. Survived by brother Roland MARIN and sister Noella MARIN and predeceased by sister Yolande. Dear sister-in-law to Violet MARSHALL and Jeanine MARIN. Dearest friend of Hellen (Nell) CULL and Kathy IMRE. Proud second cousin of Andre MARIN, Ontario Ombudsman. Therese was a proud member of the Naval Club of Toronto, an avid player of euchre and darts, she danced and sang with élan and joi de vivre. Peacefully, Saturday, September 9, 2006, at Ian Anderson House, Oakville, in her 75th year. She said, "I have no regrets. I did and saw everything I wanted." Her grace and humour enriched everyone who came in contact with her, especially best friend Lou BOURGEOIS, son Scott LINDSTOL (Karen,) daughter Karina, brother John (Ina) of Glasgow, sister Lilian (Abdu) of London, England, grand_son Erik (Jessica), granddaughter Kirsten, and much loved nieces and nephews. Her recently finished memoirs speak of her indomitable spirit - a wet 70 mile bike ride through Scotland as a nine year old! - driving her BSA to a forestry job - two years in near isolation on a Norwegian farm - a journey from Moscow to Hong Kong with her sister. Emigrating to Canada in 1956 with husband Anders LINDSTOL she worked as a model, secretary, real estate agent and store owner (showcasing her artistic talent). The family is grateful for the support and compassion of medical staff and Friends. At Elspeth's request, there will not be a funeral service. To celebrate her life, Friends are invited to gather Sunday, October 1, from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Bronte Room of The Lighthouse, Ontario Street, Oakville (Bronte). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and good Friends. Most recently, as an associate professor of Radiology at the University of Rochester, she was program director for the Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program and was the director of the Women's Imaging Center. Following a career in Ob-Gyn, she studied Radiology at Mount Sinai Medical Center (1989-92) in Miami Beach, Florida and has had clinical and academic appointments at the University of Rochester, New York, University of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee and at Allegheny University Hospital: City Avenue, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Services will be held in Rochester, New York later this week. SSAINTUIS, Archie Leopold (November 15, 1925-June 27, 2006)
Beloved husband, father and grandfather. Archie had a long and distinguished career at Wilkinson Co. Ltd., rising to the position of president before retiring at age 63, Archie was an avid golfer and longtime member of Point Grey Golf Club. He is survived by his daughter, Jill, son-in-law Richard WEST; granddaughter Teresa WEST, wife Robin GRAY/GREY, brothers Peter, John and Charles (Chappy,) sister-in-law Dorothy FORSTER (Vic,) brother-in-law Gerald CULVER and many nieces and nephews. Archie was predeceased by his wife Betsy, son Peter, granddaughter Lisa WEST and brothers Bruce, Louis (Paddy) and Paul. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, July 4, at Saint Mary's Anglican church in Vancouver, 37th and Larch, at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
