BELCOT, Ronald Peter " Ron"
Suddenly, on Sunday, October 15, 2006, Ronald Peter BELCOT of Oakville in his 48th year. Beloved son of Joe and the late Jessie BELCOT (née MALARYK) of Smithville. Loving twin brother of Randy BELCOT and his wife Sue of Cambridge, and of Cheryl and her husband Philip DRAKE of Smithville. Much loved uncle of Katelynn, Billy, Darcy and Olivia DRAKE, and Joe and Jill BELCOT. Ron will also be forever remembered and sadly missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins, Friends and colleagues. A graduate of Devry Institute of Technology, Ron attained his EET degree in 1980, and his CSC, CPH, PDO and CTA designations in later years. Ron was the Chief Investment Officer of Counsel Group of Funds Inc. in Mississauga and was responsible for the strategic direction of its investment funds and portfolios, and the management of the portfolio analytics team. Friends may call at the Merritt Funeral Home, 287 Station Street, Smithville on Wednesday from 7-9 p.m., and on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with with Prayers for the Deceased at 7: 30 p.m. Thursday evening. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at Saint Martin of Tours' Roman Catholic Church, 166 West Street (Regional Road 20, across from the arena), Smithville, on Friday, October 20 at 11 a.m. Interment at the church's adjoining cemetery. If desired, memorial contributions to the Children's Wish Foundation (Ontario Chapter) would be appreciated by the family. Peacefully at the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital, on Monday, June 26, 2006, Dorothy Mae (THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON) DEEG of (Wyecombe,) R.R.#1, Delhi, in her 88th year. Born in North Walsingham Township on November 11, 1918, dear daughter of the late William THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON and the late former Rachel BROWNLEE. Dorothy was a life long resident of the North Walsingham area. She was owner-operator of Deeg's General Store for 40 years, a member of Langton Baptist Church and a life member of the Langton Women's Institute, just recently receiving her 50 year pin. Dear mother of: Marilyn HAMMOND, Tillsonburg and her children Linda and Dave DELEEUW; Paul HAMMOND and Fran; Catherine and her husband Bob CAIL, all of Langton. Junior DEEG and Belva, R.R.#1 Walsingham and their children Kimberley and Dave SOUTHWICK, Tillsonburg; Tom DEEG and Cherie, Australia. John DEEG and Delena, Evansville, Manitoulin Island; and their children David DEEG of Manitoulin Island; Brian DEEG and his wife Ashley of Manitoulin Island; Cheryl DEEG and Shawn, Manitoulin Island. Dan DEEG, R.R.#3, Langton and his children Dorothy and her husband Chuck CSCERCICS, Tillsonburg; April and her husband Nathan HARRISON, Petawawa, Ontario; Trevor DEEG, Langton. Proud great-grandmother of 15 great-granchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. Survived by the father of her children Harvey DEEG of Port Dover. Dear sister-in-law of Clair JAMIESON, Langton and Dean HUTCHINSON/HUTCHISON of Midhurst. Also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by her son-in-law John HAMMOND (2000) and by sisters Marie HUTCHINSON/HUTCHISON, Frances JAMIESON, Luella SHAY/SHEA and her husband Jim, Jean MOULTON and her husband Bill and by brothers Gordon THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON and his wife Madeliene and John THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON. Resting at the Verhoeve Funeral Home, 40 Queen Street, Langton, Ontario where funeral service will be held in the chapel on Friday, June 30, 2006 at 2: 30 p.m. by Rev. Keith SUTHERLAND of the Langton Baptist Church. Interment in the Langton Baptist Cemetery. Memorial donations (by cheque only) to the Langton Baptist Church or the charity of your choice. Visitation Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
