Of Saint Thomas on Tuesday, May 2, 2006, at her late residence, in her 74th year. Beloved wife of the late Jay BEECROFT. She was the last of her family. Mary was a retired Registered Nurse. She was born in Kapuskasing on July 8, 1932. Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin Street, Saint Thomas where funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11: 00 a.m. Cremation to follow. It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Norman BETHUNE on Monday, May 15, 2006, at the North York General Hospital in his 78th year, after an illness fought with his characteristic optimism and dignity. He was a true gentleman whose family meant the world to him. Norm will be greatly missed by his beloved wife of 53 years, Barbara, his 4 children and 8 grandchildren: Wendy (David BUNSTON) and their children Jamie, Brook and Matt Susan (David BOWLBY;) David (Cathy RYAN) and their children Caleb and Zoe; and Anne (Greg CROMPTON) and their children Scott, Bradley and Mitchell. Norm will also be missed by his brother Don BETHUNE and sister-in-law Di, of Ottawa, as well as many Friends and colleagues from Royal Roads, Upper Canada College, Toronto Cricket Club and Saint_John's Anglican Church, York Mills. We wish to thank Dr's Nashila MOHAMAD and Donna McRITCHIE at the North York General Hospital for the sensitive way they cared for Dad and our family during these past seven weeks. Garth had a zest for living, was highly esteemed and widely loved. A very active member of Nelson United Church, he also enjoyed learning to play the bass at the CPSP music school and woodcarving with his Friends at the BAC. His energy, warmth, generosity, integrity and humour will be missed. HAGEMOEN, Stephen William (May 14, 1939-July 5, 2006)
Stephen William HAGEMOEN, son of Margaret (BUNTING) and Eilev HAGEMOEN, was born in Wells, British Columbia and at an early age moved to Burnaby, British Columbia where he graduated from Burnaby South high school. He left University of British Columbia with an electrical engineering degree and in his graduate year, married Judith, mother of his first two children, Karen (Rob) and Christine. Early in his career he joined Universal Dynamics, eventually became President and retired from the company shortly after its recent sale to Andritz Ltd. In 1971 he married Mary and had two children, Kirsten and Stephen James (Xuy). Stephen said at the end of his life that he did what he set out to do and "did it my way." He leaves his loving family, two granddaughters, Erin and Tara, brothers Eric (Myra) and Ian (Pat), two aunts, Joan and Alison, nieces and nephews, other relatives and many good Friends. There will be no service but a gathering of family and Friends will be held at the Executive Airport Plaza Hotel, 7311 Westminster Hwy, Richmond, British Columbia, between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. on Friday, July 14, 2006.
