BALLAST, Ralph
Peacefully on Thursday, February 2nd, 2006 at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital in his 81st year, Ralph BALLAST of Strathroy went to be with his Lord and Saviour. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather and will be sadly missed by his loving wife Jane, loving children Paul and Clara BUMA, Vivian and John VANDERHOEK, Sylvia and Martin STEENSTRA and John and Rosanne BALLAST. Ralph is predeceased by 2 sisters and 5 brothers and survived by 2 brothers, Henk and Nico of Holland. He will be missed dearly by his loving grandchildren Michael and Selena, Alisa, Nicholas BUMA, Tim (Amy WONG,) Sandra (Adam SWANTON,) Ryan, Karen VANDERHOEK, Joel and Gina, Dayna STEENSTRA, Tyler, Rachel, Joshua BALLAST. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 5th, 2006 at the Denning Bros. Funeral Home in Strathroy from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at the Westmount Christian Reformed Church, 405 Drury Lane in Strathroy on Monday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Fred VANDERBERG officiating. Interment to follow at Strathroy Cemetery. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family. A tree will be planted as a living memorial to Ralph.

SUTHERLAND, Colin Gordon
Colin Gordon SUTHERLAND, of Walkerton, passed away at Brucelea Haven, Walkerton, on Friday, January 13th, 2006 in his 83rd year. Colin served with No. 6 Royal Canadian Air Force group Bomber Command during World War 2. Survived by his beloved wife Carol of 58 years. Loving father of Wendy and Doug PARRISH of Leduc, Alberta, Terrence of London, Randy and Sarah of Guelph and Robert and Kendra of Kitchener. Sadly missed by eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Ralph SUTHERLAND, Ken SUTHERLAND, Agnes BUMSTEAD and Helen SUTHERLAND. Colin was predeceased by his brother Ian. Colin donated his body to medical science. Visitation at Cameron Funeral Home, Walkerton, on Saturday, January 21st, 2006 at 10: 00 a.m. with Royal Canadian Legion Branch 102 service at 10: 00 with memorial service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Memorial donations to the Community Living - Walkerton and District, Shriner's Children Hospital or the Legion Poppy Fund would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.

After a dignified and courageous battle with cancer at home in the arms of his soul mate, surrounded by family on Sunday January 29, 2006 in his 43rd year. Beloved husband of Jeanette (née BUMSTEAD.) Adoring Daddy to Christopher and Sydney. Much loved son of Bill and Anne WHITE/WHYTE and cherished brother to Neil (Kim) WHITE/WHYTE and Julie-Anne. Dear brother in law of Donna (Alan MINER,) Diane (Dwayne LOBBAN) and Jim (Betty) BUMSTEAD. Gary will be sadly missed by his many aunts, uncles and cousins in Canada and the United Kingdom. He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, Friends, extended family from TD Wealth Management and the Gell family. Gary was an active coach in hockey and soccer in Oakville and will be sadly missed by the many minor league children he helped to guide. Visitation will be held at the Glen Oaks Memorial Chapel and Reception Centre 3164 Ninth Line (at Dundas) Oakville on Wednesday from 2: 00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Thursday from 12 noon to 1 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the Glen Oaks Chapel on Thursday afternoon at 1 O'clock. Dearly beloved husband for fifty-three years of Betty GUNN (née LONG.) Loving father of Linda BUMSTEAD (Gary), Susan DOWNEY (Brian KING), Brad GUNN (Suzanne,) all of Owen Sound and Donna CLARK (Dan,) of London. Proud grandfather of Kevin, Jeff, Michael, Mercedes, Kirby, Justin, Cally, Brittney and Tori. Gordon will be sadly missed by his two brothers, Roy GUNN (Elsie) and Allan GUNN (Leone) and his sister, Marian KYLE (Lorne.) Loved grandmother of Mila, Jolene, Jessica, Jenna, Kyle and Connor. Petronella was born in the Hague, The Netherlands on July 9, 1921. The family will receive Friends at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin Street, Saint Thomas, on Sunday, October 1st from 2-4 p.m. followed by the funeral service at 4: 00 p.m. Private interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
