AZZOPARDI, John
Of Belleville, after a courageous battle, entered into rest at the Belleville General Hospital on Saturday, January 7th, 2006 in his 68th year. son of the late Anthony and Carmela AZZOPARDI. Loving husband of Dianne. Dear father of David (Debbie), Paul (Darlene) and Stephen (Jean). Also lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Heather, Dilyn and Mason. Survived and sadly missed by mother-in-law Marg DENAULT. Predeceased by father-in-law Edward DENAULT. Dear brother of Dolores (Paul) CACHIA. Will be remembered by sisters-in-law Theresa BOVAIR and Susan MacNEIL. Sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews and Friends. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of John's life will be held at the Belleville Funeral Home and Chapel, 68 North Front Street, Belleville on Saturday, January 14th, 2006 at 1: 00 p.m. (with visitation from 11:30 a.m. until service time). As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations to the Belleville General Hospital Oncolgy Department or the Palliative Care Unit would be appreciated by the family. Suddenly at his home with his family, on Tuesday, March 28th, 2006. Eddy Sharp WATSON, Of Owen Sound, in his 75th year. Beloved husband of Sadie WATSON (née PHILLIPS.) Devoted father of Mark WATSON and his wife, Danielle, of Owen Sound. Cherished papa of Katelyn WATSON. Dear brother of Shirley BOVARD and her husband, Barney, of Hamilton. Eddy will be missed by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Lawrence and Marie WATSON. A Service and Committal for Eddy WATSON will be held at a later date. SHEK, Jean Avon (née ALDERWOOD)
Jean SHEK, beloved wife of Professor Emeritus Ben-Z. SHEK, mother of Elliot and Ghitta (Wendy GOMEZ,) died on Wednesday, May 10, 2006 at Sunnybrook Hospital. Daughter of the late Doctor Henry ALDERWOOD and Ruby M. GANDIER, she is survived as well by her dear siblings: Kay PAGET, Hope STEWARD/STEWART/STUART, Ruth PERRY (Jack), Faith SUTHERLAND, and Philip ALDERWOOD (Helen.) Jean had a long and distinguished career in Social Work. She had a profound love of humanity in all its varieties and colours and a firm belief in social justice. Her funeral will take place at Bathurst Lawn Memorial Park (s. of Steeles, e. of Bathurst) at 10.30 a.m. on Sunday, May 14. A celebration of her life and a reception will follow at the Winchevsky Centre, 585 Cranbrooke Ave. (six blocks north of Lawrence, east of Bathurst). If desired, donations in her name may be made to the Toronto Jewish Folk Choir or the Morris Winchevsky Schools (416-789-5502), or to the Jean A. Shek Memorial Scholarship, Faculty of Social Work, University of Toronto (416-978-2011). The family thanks Doctor Geoff BOVETT and the nursing staff at floor C-4, Sunnybrook, for their utmost care.

Peacefully at her residence on Monday, April 24, 2006, Anna Maria (BREHM) VAN ALTENA, of Clinton, in her 87th year. Beloved wife of the late Frank VAN ALTENA (1996.) Dear father of Paul and Patricia VAN ALTENA of Angus, Maryke and Ken OSBORN of London and Frank VAN ALTENA and his partner Jenny of Lucknow. Loving grandmother of Dianna and John ROBINSON, Paula VAN ALTENA, William VAN ALTENA, Melissa and Kevin BOVIN and Ryan and Jennifer OSBORN. Also sadly missed by her great grandchildren Amber VAN ALTENA, Joanna VAN ALTENA, Billy BELL, Dustin BELL, Tyler BELL, Gage VAN ALTENA and Jordan VAN ALTENA, Marissa BOVIN, Brianna BOVIN and Ty BOVIN and Trista and Kyler OSBORN.
