RYAN, Barbara Ann (née BJERNO)
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Barbara Ann RYAN (née BJERNO) who died suddenly on Sunday, January 15, 2006 at her home in Oakville at the age of 56. Barb's loving heart touched many lives. Family and Friends who were honoured to have her in their lives knew her for her kindness and selflessness. She was a most compassionate and gentle soul with a quiet wisdom whose greatest pleasure was in helping and giving to those around her. Barb will be deeply missed by her daughters, Janet and Chrystal, her grand_son Nelson, her mother Irene BJERNO, her sister Jette (Doug), brother Niels (Laura), sister Linda (Derek), brother Jeff (Theresa) and their families. Diagnosed with leukemia, his cancer went into remission for six years and for that, his loved ones are grateful. In his early 20's in the 1940s, Vaughn launched what would be an impressive career in the Broadcasting Industry, spanning over 35 years. As a young radio announcer - ('Yawn with Vaughn' morning show among his credits) his talents lead to program directing - On-air CKSO Sudbury, CKWX and CKMO Vancouver 1940s, Program Director CFRA Ottawa, CKSL London 1950s, Vice President of CHFI / CFTR - Roger's Broadcasting - Toronto 1960s-70s. His distinctive, satiny voice will always resonate in the memory of those who knew him. As a friend to many, he will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humour, his unfailing honesty, his overwhelming generosity, and his sensitivity towards animals and nature. A loving, caring husband to Patricia, the greatest father with dedicated support and adoration to Sheryl, Jennifer and Julia, father-in-law to Darrell and Roberto whom he treated like sons, and beloved Grampa to Robin, Adam and Gori, he will be cherished and missed forever.
