beloved "Riverwood". Art will be fondly remembered by his Friends
and neighbours in the Woodlawn area. The family wishes to thank
the staff at The Grove in Arnprior and at the Perley, Gatineau

Eileen died peacefully in her sleep on November 17th, 2006 in
her 96th year. Dear mother of Ronald, Christopher and Neil, she
was predeceased in 2005 by John, her husband of 66 years. She
will be sorely missed by her sons, daughters-in-law (Jocelyne,
Margaret and Brenda) and their families including 9 grandchildren
and 5 great-grandchildren. Eileen will also be mourned by the
genealogical fraternity where she has left an extensive legacy
of research which she has shared with her many Friends and relatives
in Canada, England, Australia and the United States. Special
thanks to the staff of Granite Ridge, Country House in Stittsville
for the tender care she has received during her stay there. Also
to the Ottawa Library and the Canadian National Institute for
the Blind for all the audio books she "read" in the past few
years. Despite her loss of vision she was able to see the world
again through these books. A memorial service will be held on
December 2, 2006 at 11: 00 a.m. at All Saints Anglican Church
in Niagara Falls, Ontario followed by the burial of her ashes
in Lundy's Lane Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the
Canadian National Institute for the Blind or to a charity of
your choice would be appreciated.

Ben (Liz), Kasandra and James. John was lovingly called "Prof"
by his Friends and family. He had a teaching career that spanned
nearly four decades. He started teaching in a one room school
in the small community of Dunboyne at the age of 18. He later
taught in Maidstone and was principal of an elementary school
in Glencoe. He returned to university and acquired his Bachelor
of Arts degree from the University of Western Ontario. In 1948,
he came to London where he taught history and was head of the
history department at South Collegiate until he retired in 1977.
During his teaching career, he acquired his Masters of Education
degree from the University of Toronto and was quite involved
in the Ontario Secondary School Teachers Federation. John was
a fifty year member of the Kilwinning Lodge #64, Ancient, Free
and Accepted Masons and a member of the Scottish Rite in the
32nd degree. John was also a member of Mocha Temple. Friends
may call on Thursday from 7-9 p.m. at the James A. Harris Funeral
Home, 220 Saint_James Street at Richmond where the funeral service
will be conducted on Friday, December 8 at 11: 00 a.m. Interment
Woodland Cemetery. Memorial contributions to the Diabetes Association
or the Canadian Cancer Society would be gratefully acknowledged.
