Much loved and loving daughter of Pauline and the late Richard BECKER. Dear sister of Paul (Karen RUTHERFORD), Peter (Maureen BULLER), Elizabeth (Blair DAY), and Mike. Graduate of Loretto Abbey, Toronto, and of the Saint Michael's Hospital School of Nursing. She was loyal, generous, patient, and kind. LINESS, James " Jim" Duncan
In his 74th year, slipped away to meet his maker on April 3, 2006 after a courageous battle with cancer. Predeceased by his mother Isobel Reid Hall LINESS, in 1974 and his father Edward (Scotty) Liness in 1975. Jim is survived by his brother Ian John LINESS of Bridgenorth, his sister Christine LINESS- MURCHISON of Peterborough, and his dear friend, caregiver and long time companion, Lydia WISSEKERKE of North York (Toronto.) He will be sadly missed by his nieces and nephews Donna TUGWOOD (Bob) of Bowmanville, Leslee HUDDLESTONE of Peterborough, Scott MURCHISON (Vicki) of Courtice, and great-nieces Holly, Brooke, Tara, Jill, Breanne and Nicholas, a brand new great-nephew. Also will be sadly missed by his doctor, friend and baseball buddy, Tom BACHER. Jim, a sportsman and a gentleman, and a great teacher of sports was affiliated with pro and semi-pro baseball in the Toronto area for many years as a player, coach and manager. He also was affiliated with the Harness Racing Association, owning, training and driving in Toronto, Barrie, Peterborough, Orangeville and in the States until a training accident cut his career short. A service of remembrance will be held on Saturday, April 8th at 11: 00 a.m. in the Carfrae Chapel of the Mount Pleasant Mausoleum and Cemetery, 375 Mount Pleasant Road, Toronto, (enter the Yonge or Mt. Pleasant entrance and follow the solid yellow line). In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Beloved wife of the late Donald Murray FISHLEIGH (1982) and dearly loved mother of Ted and his wife Carman FISHLEIGH of Saint Thomas; Ruth and her husband Doug DUTRIZAC of London and the late Donald "Wayne" FISHLEIGH (2001.) Predeceased by a brother George BACKUS. Edith is also lovingly remembered by three grandchildren Lisa FISHLEIGH, Doug FREEMAN and his wife Lori and Julie FREEMAN, by five great-grandchildren Blake and Devin FREEMAN; Nick SIMPSON Jordyn and Daulton FISHLEIGH and by a number of nieces and nephews. Edith was born in Malahide Township on March 28th, 1919 to William and Elva (HEGLER) BACKUS. She had worked for many years in the E.C.G. Department of the Saint Thomas-Elgin General Hospital and was also a member of the Central United Church and of the Seniors Group. Beloved mother of Avalon, Gavyn and wife of Barry, she was the youngest sister of Josephine, Jean, Kathleen, and Stella. Born in Toronto in 1950, she graduated from York University and went on to become a successful marketing sales executive. Dianne moved to Vancouver with her husband in 1986 to start her family. She was a devoted mother and very active in community fund raising efforts and school P.A.C. activities. She will be greatly missed by her many nieces, nephews and Friends. The family wishes to thank the staff and Doctors Scudamore, Klimo, Gimbarzevsky, Horne, and Macffray at St. Pauls and Lions Gate Hospital. Predeceased by son James George (2004,) Grandchildren Carmen FALKINER and Carolyn VANDERKOY, Great-Grandchildren Michael BECKHAM and Andrew LEWIS, brother Russell and sisters Kate, Dorothy BOYES and Hazel GALLAGHER. Lee passed away suddenly on Sunday, May 28th, 2006 at the Grey-Bruce Health Services, Owen Sound in her 76th year. The former Helena COX was the beloved wife and best friend of Carl GIILCK. She will be lovingly remembered by her children Mike and his wife Sue, Deb GIILCK, Kim and her husband Marc LAROSE, Pam and her husband Corey WIDMEYER and Shawn and his wife Charlene. Her memory will be cherished in the hearts of her grandchildren: Amber, Holly, Casie, Matthew, Alex, Tyler and Adam. Peacefully at Countryside Manor on June 6, 2006 Barbara passed away with family by her side. Loving wife and best friend of Frank BACON (1987,) very dear mother to Arthur and his wife Olga, Richard and his partner Janet of Surrey, England, special grandmother to Michelle and Leah. Survived by her sister Mary LENEHAN, brother-in-law Bill BACON of Winnipeg and sister-in-law Essie BACON. Barbara will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews and their families for her loving and caring nature. Barbara was born on June 17, 1914 in London, Ontario to Frank Arthur PORTER and Helen Irene WALDHOFF. In 1941 Barbara married Frank BACON and after a brief stay in London they moved to Lambeth to raise their family. Barbara was totally devoted to the three men in her life. Her unconditional love, never ending support and encouragement as numerous family endeavours were pursued was the essence of Barbara and her greatest gift to them. Having a very keen interest in china, Barbara joined Sayvette Department Stores from 1965-1976 becoming head of the Giftware Department. In June of 1978 Barbara joined Birks Jewellers and was well known for her enthusiasm and "very catchy smile". Barbara was an active member in the Lambeth community for many years, developing many Friends and sharing in many activities. Barbara was an avid sports fan and enjoyed playing bridge and euchre. Barbara's strength and commitment to her husband Frank during his period of illness was remarkable. During her later years, Barbara was a very devoted and loving grandmother. Her kind and gentle manner will forever warm the hearts of her granddaughters. She will always be remembered for supplying awesome "dress up" clothing, preparing fabulous Sunday family dinners and baking delicious brownies. In 2001 Barbara moved from Lambeth to Countryside Manor. Heather and her staff provided a loving and compassionate environment that allowed Barbara to live out her life with grace and dignity. Peacefully on Monday, March 6, 2006 in Toronto, Ontario at the age of 94. Survived by his daughter Barbara (Jack) BUTTERFIELD, son Bill (Betty,) step-daughter Liz (John) TORY and step-son Ted (Ruth) BACON. Jack will be dearly missed by his many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family and many Friends. In keeping with Jack's wishes, cremation will take place and a celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
