ARBAT,
Pariecima
Kazemi
An Angel has left us; she lost her brief but courageous battle
against cancer, on March 27, 2006. She will be forever loved
and missed by her husband of 38 years, Sy, and their daughters
Solmaaz, Uldooz and Giselle. She will be sorely missed and remembered
by her grandchildren, Darius-Aydin, Shayana-Maral and sons-in-law
Hashem and Dante. Parie, literally meaning an angel, truly lived
the life as defined by her name. She loved Canada and deeply
appreciated the freedom and opportunities offered to all, especially
the women, in our society. Though her lifespan was relatively
brief, lasting for only 55 years, she lived it to its fullest.
Parie, may you rest with the Angels, your family and Friends
were blessed to have you in their lives, you brought light to
everyone you touched and will forever be in our hearts. Your
loving family

Jean, A.O.C.A., O.S.A. (July 23, 1921-January
Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, in Sharbot
Lake. The Governor General's Award winning graduate of the Ontario
College of Art in 1942, Jean became an active member of the arts
community in Toronto. Jean co-founded the influential Upstairs
Gallery with her late husband, Saul
FIELD.
She co-founded, with
Archie ARBUCKLE, the Ontario College of Art Alumni Association.
She was a teacher and fellow at Calumet College - York University,
and mentor to hundreds of young Canadian artists. Jean received
international success as a printmaker using the non-toxic Compotina
method she co-developed with Saul. Her prints were often inspired
by mythological and literary themes including her portfolio based
on the poetry of W.B. Yeats. Her first loves, though, were drawing,
painting and sculpture, where her favoured themes were nudes,
lovers, and landscapes. Her superb lyrical line came through
in all her work. Her other passion in life was her family, who
will all miss her dearly. Daughter of the late Frederick and
Martha (née

TOWNSEND and sister to the late Gordon
TOWNSEND
and Nora EDEN,
Jean leaves behind two adoring children, Martina

love for living and warmth will long be remembered by the many
