ALMACK, Edward Corrie (February 16, 1948-June 10, 2006)
Resident of St. Francis House, Hamilton, formerly of Guelph. Ted was the only child of George ALMACK and Esther MacKenzie ALMACK (both deceased.) Predeceased by his wife Shirley Shepherd ALMACK (1997.) Survived by many Almack and MacKenzie aunts, uncles and cousins. Ted made Friends wherever he went and he will be missed by all. He was a gentleman: proud of his family and proud to be a Christian. Ted lived a life of difficulty and challenge with courage, grace and determination. Friends are welcome to join the family in a Celebration of Ted's life, at St. Giles' United Church (parlour room), 85 Holton Ave. S. (at Main, near St. Frances) Hamilton, 905-349-3068, at 12: 00 noon on Sunday, June 18th, 2006. A buffet lunch will follow. Interment at Tobermory. Peacefully in his 89th year, on Sunday, July 9, 2006 at Toronto East General Hospital with his family at his side. Albert, dearly loved, devoted and cherished husband and lifelong companion of Eleanor. Loving father of David (Heather) and Sheila (Winston), grandfather of Pamela (John), Karen (Darrell), Shawn and Brady. Great-grandfather of Brenan, Joshua, Kayla, Maren and Declan, also survived by his brother Lorne (Rhoda). Predeceased by his parents Rev. Walter ALMACK and Georgina and brother George (Esther.) Bert will long be remembered by family and Friends as a keen outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, gardening, walking and working in his woodlot at the cottage. Colleagues at Imperial Oil respected his in-depth knowledge and understanding of product formulations and application. Resting at Paul O'Conner Funeral Home, 1939 Lawrence Ave. E. (between Pharmacy and Warden) from 7: 00 to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 11. Funeral service on Wednesday morning at 11 a.m. in The Donway Covenant United Church, (230 The Donway West). A loving husband, father and grandfather who died peacefully on Friday, November 24th, 2006, in his 76th year. Kind and faithful husband for almost 50 years to Betty. He also leaves behind his children Betty Ann (Edward) PRYZDIAL, Glenn (Patricia) and Gail (John) ALMAND and grandchildren Johnathan, Ian, Matthew, Robert, William and Nicholas. Brother of Robert (Betty), Vincent (Annette) and Stanley. Peter was born in Rathven, Banffshire in 1931. He came to Canada in 1952. Betty and Peter were married on December 1st, 1956 and together they never looked back. His Friends will always remember him as someone who loved growing and eating potatoes, in any form. Past Grand Patron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Past Patron of Satellite Chapter No. 310, Past Master Victory Lodge No. 547, Past Assistant Grand Chaplain Grand Lodge of Canada, Member Tecumseh Shrine Club, Member of Heritage Court No. 13 Order of the Amaranth. Karen McVITTIE, beloved wife of Melvyn “Mike” McVITTIE of Owen Sound, passed away at Grey Bruce Regional Health Services in Owen Sound on Tuesday, November 14, 2006 at the age of sixty three. Karen is remembered as a loved daughter by her parents Carleton and Evlyn (MARSHALL) KNIGHT of Meaford. She was the loving mother of Teresa and her husband Greg WAGHORNE of Innisfil, and Michael and his wife Lisa McVITTIE of Ingersoll and she will be sadly missed grandmother 'Nan' of Marcus and Jason WAGHORNE and Zachary and Kenton McVITTIE. Karen will be remembered as a dear sister by Forrest KNIGHT and his wife Jean of Meaford, Karle and her husband John CHAPMAN of Bayfield, and Tally and her husband Ken ALMAS of Meaford. She is also fondly remembered by her several aunts and uncles, nieces, nephews and their families. A private family funeral service, officiated by Doctor Brad CLARK, will be conducted at the Ferguson Funeral Home in Meaford on Thursday, November 16, 2006 with cremation to follow. A family service of interment of Karen's cremated remains will be conducted at a later date. 79 years. Peacefully at Hotel Dieu Grace Hospital on October 21, 2006. Beloved husband of the late Madeline (née FURLONG) (2003.) Loving father of Douglas (Windsor), Timothy (Vancouver) and the late Brian (1986). son of the late Dr. Frank WILLIAMSON and the late Dorothy MITCHELL. Dear brother of Lt. Cmdr. (Ret'd) James WILLIAMSON (Arizona,) Margaret KAIN and her husband Larry (Orangeville, Ontario) and the late Jack Mitchell WILLIAMSON. Beloved grandfather of Keith. Dear father-in-law to Judy WILLIAMSON. Dearest friend of Barbara KERSEY (to whom we are all extremely thankful.) Mr. WILLIAMSON was a renowned educator with the Windsor Board of Education, where he served as head of the History Dept. at Patterson Collegiate and W.D. Lowe Secondary School. A dedicated teacher, coach and military cadet instructor, he achieved educational breakthroughs, including creating the first Black and Asian High School Course in Canada. He had deep social conscience and displayed an amazing knowledge of Matters Historical. He was a charter founder of the McDonalds Coffee Club. He will be deeply missed.
