Died peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, March 26, 2006 at the age of 89. A warm, caring and gentle man, who was adored by all. His strength, wit and kindness will be missed. He was highly regarded and respected in the legal profession. He served with distinction in the armed forces in World War 2 and was a prisoner of war for 9 months. Predeceased by his brothers and sisters, Anne GOULD, Jack ZALDIN, Esther MORRIS, Sam ZALDIN, and Florence FAGAN. Arthur▲ is survived by his adoring wife of 60 years, the love of his life, Estelle CAPLAN. He will be greatly missed by his children, Joan and Ted SHAPERO, and Josie and Shimon ARBEL of Jerusalem, who were so fortunate to have had this rare man guiding their lives. Grandchildren Adam, Sari, David, Talia, Rena, Noam and Adina and great-grand_son Gabriel will recall happy times with their playful and loving Zaidy. His many nieces and nephews have fond memories of their special uncle. Funeral services to be held Tuesday, March 28, 2006 at Beth Sholom Synagogue, 1445 Eglinton Ave. W., at 10: 30 a.m. Interment Roselawn Cemetery. Shiva 53 Fifeshire Rd. Dziadzio will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Melissa, Adam and his wife Lynne, Ashley, Erica and Monica. Loving father of Stewart and Janice (Shawn). Sadly missed by grandchildren Kristen and Ashley. Dear brother of Richard and Bobby, predeceased by brother Tom. Fondly remembered by his sisters-in-law Carol, Susan and Jean. Will be sadly missed by many cousins and extended family in Canada, U.S.A., Scotland and South Africa. After a long and courageous struggle with cancer Ida ZITANI died peacefully on December 6, 2006 at the age of 49 years. Beloved wife of Keith RODD, loving mother of daughters Erica, Sarah and Megan, daughter of Giovanna and the late Enzo, sister to Gabriella (Mauro) ZANCONATO, Cosimo ZITANI and Virginia ZITANI and aunt to Danielle, Robert, Brianne, Matthew and Lula. She will be missed by all. She will be remembered by her special friend Lorna ERWIN, and by Carla and Helen McCORMICK, who took a special place in Ida's heart after the death of their mother, and Ida's good friend, Sue. A memorial service will be held at the Carfrae Chapel, Mount Pleasant Cemetery, 375 Mount Pleasant Road, Toronto, Friday December 15 at 11: 00 a.m. Donations in Ida's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society or Saint_Joseph's Health Centre would be appreciated by the family, flowers gratefully declined. The only son of John and Ora (LEARN) OSTRANDER. Verne was a former Central Pipe Line Ltd. manager in propane at Chatham Ontario He had many hobbies, making furniture to look its best, he also enjoyed gardening and nature. Loving and kind husband of 60 years to Gertrude (BOONMAN) OSTRANDER. Adored father to children Gary, Marlene (Howard,) Pat (Vince) ZANKI, and John OSTRANDER. Predeceased by daughter Sandra NISSEN (1988.) Special grandpa of Kim and Darren OSTRANDER, J.P. and Mike ZANKI, Steve QUICK and Carrie GOOD, Jenny OLIPHANT (Mike,) Sonya NISSEN, Krista and Jared NISSEN, Clinton, Ashlyn, and Cameron OSTRANDER. Passed away peacefully at the Kingston General Hospital on Monday, March 6, 2006, after a long struggle with cancer. Ordained in 1947, he spent the next 46 years serving the United Church of Canada in various capacities; including his time as Bay of Quinte Conference Minister, Personnel. His life of 87 years was well lived, spent learning and loving, building and taking joy in community. Loved and dearly missed by his wife of over 60 years Marjory CUNNINGHAM; and by his children Peter, Mary Beth, and Christopher; their past and present partners Andrea LEVAN, Ronda LENTI, Kim ZAPF, Bill SCHRAM, Trish WALLACE, and Kelly HIGGINS his grandchildren Jeremy (wife Carolyn), Robert, Marybeth (Partner Nathan GLENTWORTH,) Rebecca (fiancee James CAVEN,) Matthew, and Griffin.
