Peacefully, at Meadow Park Nursing Home, London, on Tuesday March 14th, 2006, Jean Grace WHEALY (née SHANNON) in her 87th year. Beloved wife of the late Beverly Edward WHEALY (1999.) Dear mother of Beverley (Lee) HOSKIN (Chuck,) Lynda HAYNES (Morley) and Ruth-Ann DOWNIE. Loving grandmother of Paul HOSKIN of Toronto, Edward (Catherine) HOSKIN of Georgetown, David and Mark HAYNES and Rachel DOWNIE, all of London. Survived by brother Bruce SHANNON (Joyce 2005) and sister-in-law Reta SHANNON (William -- 1994) and many nieces and nephews. Jean was a life long dedicated member of St. George's Presbyterian Church. Dear uncle of John and Sheila MARCHANT of Norfolk, England and Archie MARCHANT of Edinburgh, Scotland. WHEATLEY, Ernest
Ernest WHEATLEY died peacefully at 83 under the nurturing care of the Intensive Care Unit staff at Credit Valley Hospital on Wednesday, January 4, 2006. He was surrounded by his family who loved him dearly and who will miss his sense of humour and his gentleness. He was born in Toronto in 1922 and was predeceased by his mother, Irva, when he was 16 and later by his father, Charlie and his brother Ches. Bernice, his wife of 50 years, passed away in 1997. In 2001, he married Marilyn McLEAN his loving, patient and long-time friend and fellow golfer. He was a proud and caring father and he will be sadly missed by his daughters Margot Wheatley DAWSON, her husband Ian, and Dianne Wheatley ROUTLEDGE, her husband Peter, and by his son, Michael WHEATLEY. His adored grandchildren, Amanda, Kyle, Megan, Brendan, Alexandra and Marissa loved his endless warmth and laughter. He will also be very much missed by Marilyn's children: Sandra, Sam, Peggy, Gary and Andy and their families. They had very special Friendships with him. He had many colleagues and Friends, some who have predeceased him and some who are still playing golf, bridge and pool, things he loved to share with them over the years. A celebration of his life will be held at the Thomas Funeral Home, 244 Victoria Street, Alliston at 11: 00 a.m. on Saturday, January 7. At South Huron Hospital, Exeter on Thursday, April 13, 2006, Hazel Jean (Rooky,) dear wife of the late Herb MILLER, in her 88th year. Beloved mother of Judy (Wayne), Paul, Patty (Nigel), Scott (Lena) and Laurie. Proud grandmother of Ryan, Sean, Chad and Stan. Predeceased by her parents Jack and Mary O'ROURKE, her sister Eleanor O'ROURKE and her brother Archie in infancy. Also predeceased by her brother-in-law Jack MILLER. Hazel was a graduate of the Royal Jubilee Hospital School of Nursing in Victoria, British Columbia (1942). She was commissioned a Second Lieutenant Nursing Sister in the Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps (1944). Hazel was a nurse at Westminster Veteran's Hospital for over 40 years. Retirement came unexpectedly when the hospital discovered she was a few years past 65. Hazel said "But I'm only 67!". Hazel was a primary life member of the Imperial Order of the Daughters of the Empire and received her 50 year pin. She was also a charter member of the Roadrunners Club of Grand Bend. Visitors will be received at the John T. Peacefully, after a long and full life, Marie Rose SHAY/SHEA passed away on March 18, 2006. She was pre-deceased by her husband J.C. 69, of Wolfville, Nova Scotia and formerly of Ottawa, Ontario, passed away suddenly at home on May 3, 2006. Born in Bombay, India, he was the son of Harry Austin ELLIS, a railroad engineer, and Elsie (HOCKING) ELLIS, a nurse. He grew up in Coventry, England, and attained his medical degree from the University of Birmingham, England, in 1960. In 1965, he emigrated to Canada with his first wife Freda (BARTHOLOMEW) ELLIS, settling first in Moose Jaw Saskatchewan, then Oshawa, Ontario and then Ottawa, Ontario. He was a radiologist, practicing for many years in Ottawa and then in Perth-Andover, New Brunswick, before finally retiring in 1997 in Wolfville. He is survived by his loving and beloved wife Norma (WHEELER) ELLIS, with whom he recently and joyously celebrated his 26th wedding anniversary, his son Richard (Dawn EDLUND,) of Ottawa, daughter Rowena, of Ottawa, sister Sheila (Frank)Stenton, of Coventry, England, brothers-in-law Raymond (Jennifer) WHEELER, of Cobble Hill, British Columbia and Roger (Trudy) BARTHOLOMEW of Corning, New York, nephews Tony STENTON of London, England John (Kimberly) BARTHOLOMEW of Portland, Oregon, their son Dylan, and niece Lesley BARTHOLOMEW of Providence, Rhode Island. 85, Windsor, Hants Co., Nova Scotia, formerly of Brooklyn, Hants Co., and Toronto, Ontario, passed away peacefully Saturday, September 16, 2006, at home. Born in Elora, Ontario, he was the son of the late David and Ida (FARRELLY) JONES. Gray was a veteran of the Second World War, having served in the Royal Canadian Air Force with the Ground Crew while stationed in Britain. After the war he went on to move up the ranks at Ontario Hydro, eventually reaching the position of Manager of Personnel, serving a dedicated 40 years to the company. Gray is survived by his daughters, Judy (Gerry) JOHNSTON, Centre Rawdon; Wendy JONES, Parksville, British Columbia; sister, Alda (Al) CAMERON, Toronto, Ontario; granddaughter, Jennifer, and great-granddaughter, Moira. Peacefully, Eric died December 4th in the presence of his family at Vancouver General Hospital, where he had served as Ophthalmic surgeon for more than 40 years. He will be remembered and missed as a man of action, integrity, and humour - and as a loving husband to Shelagh; devoted father to Eric (Trish), Stuart (Kim), Kathleen, (Brian) and Brock (Claudia); beloved Poppa to James, Kevin, Stephen, Erin, Alison, Nathan, Karen, Laura, Ford, and Reed; big brother to Lorna; brother-in-law to John (Joyce) WHEELER, Elida (Brian) HARRIS, and William (Eileen) WHEELER; and as Uncle Eric to their children, and to the children of close family Friends. Eric studied medicine at McGill University, and completed a senior ophthalmology residency in Manhattan before returning to Vancouver in 1953 to pioneer the use of operating microscopes and new techniques in corneal transplant surgery. As a Professor at University of British Columbia, Eric was teacher and mentor to many medical students and Ophthalmology residents at Vancouver General Hospital, who learned from him not only skills and knowledge, but also the importance of truly caring about, and for, patients. It was the long term relationships with his patients that gave Eric his greatest professional joy. An avid outdoors man, scouter, flyfisher, skier, boater and woodworker, Eric sought and created adventures for his family and Friends which will long be remembered. A memorial service will be held at St. Helens Anglican Church (8th Ave and Trimble St.) in Vancouver, at 3 p.m. Tuesday January 2nd, 2007. Mabel passed away comfortably in the company of her children at Meadowcroft Place York Mills. She was in her 90th year. Mabel enjoyed a long and full life as teacher, nurse, W.A.A.F. plotter in World War 2, wife, mother and grandmother. She loved to travel, garden, bake, play cards, knit, and do crewelwork and, especially, to spend time with family and Friends just talking and laughing. The door to her home was always wide open. Born in Griquet, Newfoundland, Mabel travelled to London, England in 1939 returning to Cornerbrook, Newfoundland in 1945 to start her family, after marrying Gordon in 1942. In 1949 Mabel and Gordon moved to Toronto with their young family and eventually moved to Scarborough in 1953 where they settled to raise their family of seven. Mabel's strength, vitality and love of life will be remembered and cherished by her children Pauline CALEY (Harold), Tom (Pam), Ernie (Kay), Dennis (Laurel,) Derrick (Judy,) Glenn (Gwen,) Terryann WILLARD (Scott) and daughter-in-law Carolynne; by her grandchildren Greg, Steve, Kirsten, Anthony, Jamie, Alisia, Elena, Kelly, Colleen, Zac, Erin, Jeff, Eric, Amanda, Michael, Trevor and Olivia; by her great-grandchildren Anna, Lauryn, Jacob and Justin; and, by other family members and Friends of the family. Mabel was predeceased by her loving husband of 50 years Gordon who died in September 1992, by her eight sisters and brothers and her infant son Anthony. Mabel was a feisty and loving woman to the end! The family would like to thank the staff at Meadowcroft Place who provided her with such good care and companionship during her final years. BROMLEY, Jason Christopher
Died peacefully February 23, 2006 at St. Michael's Hospital, surrounded by loved ones, in his 35th year. He succumbed to pneumonia after a lengthy illness. He will be sadly missed by his grandmother Emily, his father Keith and his loving fiancée Lynn, his sister Shannon and her husband Rob (WHEELER.) His best friend Bobby too will miss him. A small family service will take place following cremation.

SHAY/SHEA, Marie Rose (née WHEELER)
Peacefully, after a long and full life, Marie Rose Shea passed away on March 18, 2006. She was predeceased by her husband J.C. (Neil) SHAY/SHEA (1972,) by their infant son John Richard (1947) and by her brother George (1982). She was the loving mother of Anita and Paula and proud mother-in-law of Paul DIGNAN and Goldwyn CHAN. Seán, Christopher and Cara DIGNAN took great delight in their Grandma Rosie. Aunt Marie will be missed by many nieces and nephews in the Wheeler, Shea, Shaughnessy, Campbell, and Sauvé families. She enriched all of our lives with her loyal and generous Friendship, her prodigious memory and the wit and wisdom of her many stories. We are grateful to the staff of 4 Teddington Park for their warmth and superb care. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, March 22 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Trull Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 2704 Yonge Street (5 blocks south of Lawrence), 416-488-1101 (www.trullfuneralsyonge.com). Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Church (Yonge Street, 1 block south of Lawrence Avenue), 416-481-2256 on Thursday, March 23 at 7: 30 p.m. with a reception to follow in the parish hall. Formerly of Scarborough, died peacefully at Saint Marys Memorial Hospital, on April 26, 2006, at the age of 71. son of the late Roy and Alice (née PHIPPEN.) Beloved husband of Arlene (née HARRIS.) Dear father of Sharon BYRNE and her husband Alan. Proud grandfather of Ryan TURNER and Caitlin TURNER. Cherished brother of Joan CHURCHILL, Alan CALLENDER and his wife Jackie, and sister-in-law Glenice CALLENDER. Predeceased by his brothers Roy, Ross and sister Edith ROBINSON. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Jack's family wishes to extend a gracious thank-you to Doctor WHEELER and the Palliative Care staff at Saint Marys Memorial Hospital for their attentive care. Memorial visiting at Saint_James' Anglican Church Parish Hall (northeast corner of Church St. and Elgin St.), Saint Marys, on Friday from 7-9 p.m. The Memorial Service will be conducted at the Church on Saturday, April 29, 2006 at 11 a.m., with Rev.
