Peacefully among family on Thursday June 22, 2006 in Freemont, California after a very long and eventful life. Matriarch, wise counsel, raconteur, empathetic soul, and inspiration to many. Long time resident of Toronto born in Liverpool to Fanny and Sam RADAM raised in Akron and affectionately known as "Nan" by her loving family, Friends, and colleagues, Esther will be achingly missed and fondly remembered by all. Esther was adored and is survived by her sister Betty WEINTRAUB of Ohio, grand-daughters Terri MARKLE of California, Julie MARKLE, their husbands Stan BALL, Joel MICKELSON, great-grand_sons Andy and Stephen BALL and Max and Jonah MICKELSON, along with many cousins, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her daughter Audrey MARKLE, to whom she was a loving and devoted mother, by her husband Ernest, and close brothers Sol and David RADAM. Esther enjoyed life's bounteous pleasures to the fullest and met it's challenges with grace and good humour. HARRISON, Clarence Elroy
Clarence Elroy HARRISON passed away peacefully on Monday, December 4, 2006 at Rockwood Terrace, Durham.
Elroy was born May 29, 1921 on Lot 3, Conc. 16, Proton Township to the late Clarence and Agnes Jane "Jean" (WEIR) HARRISON. He will be missed by his only sister, Agnes McEACHERN of Durham.
In his youth he worked on the home farm with his father and Uncle Phillip who farmed across the road until enlisting in the army during World War 2. He married Eva Florence COLLINS in Toronto November 25, 1944.
They purchased Lot 3, Concession 17 where they farmed and raised a family of three sons, Doug, Ken and Lorne. They were members of the Salem United Church until it closed in 1966. During the 50's and 60's, Elroy was a well-respected member of the Swinton Park Local of the Ontario Farmers Union. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 285, Dundalk for 42 years.
His hobby was raising and training racehorses and the family enjoyed many trips to the track where Elroy and Eva made Friends with many Harness Racing families from all over southern Ontario. They both loved a good game of euchre and the Saturday night dances at the Durham Legion.
Eva passed away in November 1991 and Elroy continued farming until his retirement. In January 2003, he went to live with his son Lorne and moved to Rockwood Terrace in March 2004.
Left to mourn are his sons Doug (Mary Belle), Ken (Katie) and Lorne (Liz). He is sadly missed by his grandchildren Julie (Tyler) BEINGESSNER, Mark HARRISON, Krista HARRISON and Kevin (Cheryl) HARRISON and his great-grandchildren Cole and Cooper BEINGESSNER and Ethan and Teryn HARRISON. He is remembered by his brother-in-law, Bill (Berny) COLLINS, his nieces and nephews and many Weir and HARRISON cousins and their families.
Visitation was held at the Fawcett-McEachern Funeral Home, Wednesday evening, December 6. The funeral service and committal was conducted in the Funeral Home Chapel at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 7 with Rev. David NICHOLSON officiating and Gayle MAGWOOD, organist. His son Ken compiled and read the eulogy.
The pallbearers were Ross McEACHERN, Wallace HARRISON, Anson McCABE, Michael SCHERER Kevin HARRISON and Mark HARRISON. The flower bearers were Krista HARRISON (the family spray,) Cheryl HARRISON, Ethan HARRISON, Lorna SCHERER, Joan TANAKA, Linda TOPPING, Nancy COLLINS, Louise COLLINS, Claire McEACHERN and her friend, Eton. Following the funeral, Friends and family gathered at the Royal Canadian Legion, Durham for a social time and luncheon, which was catered by members of the Legion and their associates.
Interment will take place at McNeil Cemetery, Priceville in the spring of 2007.

On Sunday March 19, 2006 at Toronto General Hospital. Best friend and wife of Paul TRUELOVE. A.J. will be forever remembered by her twin brother Jeff, brother Ian, sisters Nancy and Tracey and parents Ross and Irene. Deeply missed by her long-time Friends, Ellen WEIR, Cathy PARISH, Julie ANDRAS, and Donna COPE. Alison was a dedicated member of the Rotary Club of Toronto, a Paul Harris Fellow, William Peace Award winner; a longtime supporter of Easter Seals and winner of the Yvonne Alexander Award for Volunteerism. Founder and co-chair of the Truelove/Dell Scholarship Fund, Director Emeritus of Peace by Peace. Member of the Toronto Transit Commission A.C.A.T. committee and many other charitable projects. Alison's tireless efforts have helped countless people. She will be sorely missed. BADGER, D. Gordon
Gordon passed away unexpectedly but peacefully while napping in a little stone cottage in beautiful rural Ireland, a land he truly loved, on his septuagenarian elopement and honeymoon vacation with his new bride, Marilyn WEIR. Tragically, Marilyn▲ has had their happiness together cut far too short. Gordon never wasted any time - he knew there might not be a tomorrow and lived each and every day with gusto. Great friend, mentor and presence to so many. Larger than life character with an intellect, enthusiasm and energy that touched a broad spectrum of people in many ways. Missed by a host including the children he loved; Storey, Matthew, Lawrie and Gregg; their mothers Marilyn (McFATRIDGE) and Heather (JACKSON;) grandchildren Hartley and Spencer VIBERT and Will and Sydney BADGER; and in-laws Matthew VIBERT and Kate HUNTER- BADGER. Pre-deceased by his loving daughter Martha, wife of many years Vicky (MacCAUSLAND,) sister Donna Marie ABERLE and parents Donald and Edith BADGER. Born in Cayuga, Ontario May 8, 1936. Chartered Accountant (Clarkson and Gordon) and entrepreneur extraordinaire, 'Badge' had a colorful career that included the founding of Homemakers Digest and most recently real estate development in Florida, with countless adventures in between. He never stopped and was enjoying some of his best successes recently. Gordon had a wonderful ability to embrace life and enjoy it thoroughly. He did so in the comfort of his home in Creemore Ontario where he weighed in generously and meaningfully on community issues; recently in Melbourne, Florida where he was doing business with the enthusiasm of a youngster; in the Domincan Republic where he also made a home and embraced the people there who loved and respected him and to whom he showed the generosity of a true Santa Claus; and the cottage where he perhaps enjoyed life with family and Friends most on Playfair Island, Lake Joseph. He created an environment there that became the foundation for the family. With all of this in his life, and the prospect of sharing it in his sunset years with his new love, he died truly happy. He was a wonderfully unique character, a raconteur who entertained and delighted all. He has left us alone, and we will grieve, but his spirit will remain in our hearts forever. A service will be held for Friends and family at Bloor Street United Church, 300 Bloor St. West, Toronto on Monday, May 8, 2006 (his 70th birthday) at 4: 30 p.m. More importantly, the major celebration of his life that he directed include martinis and good wine will take place at the Badger Hill farm near Creemore on Saturday, June 24 with tee-offs for those who wish to golf on Badger Downs starting at 2 p.m. Friends should please mark you calendars for then and let a family member know if you need directions or help with accommodation. Born on January 26, 1961, in Weston, Ontario, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Eileen (McDOWELL) WEIR. She worked as an Aerospace Engineer prior to moving to Annapolis Royal to become co-owner of The Hillsdale House, Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia. Shannon will be sadly missed by her children, Cory, Sam and Hayley, at home; along with sister, Heather (David) STAIRS; brother-in-law, Danny (Cheryl;) mother-in-law, Clair; nephews, Patrick, Kevin and Jason; nieces, Courtney and Megan. She was predeceased by her loving husband Rick. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Annapolis Royal. MORDEN- SMITH, Alison
85, of Port Colborne, died July 4, 2006. Alison grew up in England and served in the Women's Auxiliary Air Force in Radar during the war. Here she met Wilson "Bud" MORDEN, who served with the Canadian Air Force in Radar. After the war, Alison and Bud were married in Picton, Ontario, while Bud was preparing for the United Church Ministry. After Bud's ordination, Alison served with him at First St. Andrew's United Church in London, Chalmers United Church in Windsor, Saint Paul's United Church in Midland, Colborne Street United Church in London, and Christ Church in Mississauga. At age 50, she earned her certification as an Associate of The Royal Conservatory of Music in piano. After Bud's death in 1983, Alison moved back to London, where she met and married Jack SMITH in 1987. When Alison became ill in 2002, she and Jack moved to Portal Village in Port Colborne. Alison is lovingly remembered by her husband Jack SMITH and his family, her son Max of Grand Bend and his wife Pat, her daughter Mary WHITE/WHYTE of Port Colborne and her husband Sandy, her daughter Susan GITTINGS of Oakville and her husband David, her daughter Nancy WEIS of Toronto, her grandchildren Laird, Christopher, Robert, Michael, Leslie, Elizabeth, Matthew, and Bootsy, and her brother Robert MAXWELL of Sheffield, England and his wife Silvia, nieces Debbie and Carol.
