Mother▲ of Sheri WEICHEL and Bernard LEROUX of West Vancouver and Mark WEICHEL and Liz THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON of Brechin. Also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Justin and Maddison WEICHEL and Sofi and Marc LEROUX. Sister▲ of Glen and Lois GABEL of Guelph, Ray GABEL of Saint_Jacobs and sister-in-law of Yvonne WEICHEL of Kitchener. Shirley will be remembered by her nieces, nephews and their familes. At Shirley's request, cremation has taken place. There will be no funeral home visitation. A Memorial service for family and Friends will be held at the Dreisinger Funeral Chapel, Elmira on Saturday, July 1st at 11: 00 a.m. with Rev. Harold BRILL officiating. Eva (Nanny) passed away peacefully on March 31, 2006 surrounded by loved ones. Survived and loved by Anthony DE MARIAFFI and Stephen AGH from Toronto, her daughters Kathy DOMINA, Andrea AGH (Bob WEIDNER) from Toronto and Sharon STOKER, her grandchildren Christopher DOUCETTE (Pamela) from Toronto, Mary DOMINA (Gerry JOHNSON,) Michelle DOMINA, her great-grandchildren Noah, Clayton, Christopher, Brittany, Matthew and her best friend Toby. Eva was born in Hungary in 1930. After escaping Hungary in 1949, Eva finished high school and entered University in Innsbruck. She left Austria in 1951 and immigrated to Canada where she worked hard and her only dream was to have a better life for her family. Her favourite pastimes were walking her dog Toby, reading and travelling. A Celebration of Nanny's life will be held at Sands Funeral Chapel, 1 Newcastle Ave., Nanaimo, British Columbia on Thursday, April 6, 2006 at 4: 00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in memory of Eva to the Kidney Foundation. Special thanks to all the nurses, care attendants and housekeeping personnel at the Palliative Care Unit in Nanaimo Hospital, who helped make Nanny and families last days together as comfortable as possible.

After a courageous battle with cancer on February 10, 2006 at St. Peter's Hospital, "Bill the Bartender" has passed away just short of his 81st Birthday. For over 40 years at Town and Country (Mutual Street, Toronto) he listened and gave advice to his "regulars", many of whom became personal Friends. He leaves his wife of 50 years, Jean (née RIGBY;) children Robyn (Shayne,) Richard, Rhonda (Tom) and Roberta; grandchildren Miranda, Kaitlyn, Kurtis (Tanya), Richard and Emily. We will miss his easy quips and quiet sense of humour. His brothers Douglas and Murray predeceased him. A grateful thanks to the 3rd floor of St. Peter's Palliative Care for their support and compassion to both Bill and his family. Cherished grandfather of Lisa CARTER (Richard WEIMA) of Oakville, Tod CARTER (Michelle) of Camlachie and Walter Scott NICHOLLS (Debbie) of Calgary. Great-grandfather of Megan, Rebecca, Angela, Walter Caleb NICHOLLS and Conor and Liam CARTER. Predeceased by his parents Walter VERNON and Geraldine NICHOLLS, grand_son Eric CARTER (1990.) Walt was an Royal Canadian Naval Volunteer Reserve Veteran, Second World War and a member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 62 in Sarnia. He will always be remembered for local sports and swimming instruction and was a pioneer in local Scuba activity. Walt worked in the electrical department at Dow Chemical for 30 years before retiring in 1982. Daughter▼ of the late Fannie and Israel WEINBERG, she was the wife of the late Morris J. (Moishe) STERN, sister and sister-in-law to the late Pearl and David SURDIN. May's▼ Friendship▼ and caring knew no bounds and those lucky enough to fall within radius of her enormously generous personality rarely left her presence without a laugh and a smile. Any friend she made remained so for life, from girlhood at College and Bathurst, as a young married couple with Moishe in Hamilton, through the years back in Toronto, before and after Moishe's death, and then on to an exciting "new" life on Vancouver Island. Daughter▲ of the late Fannie and Israel WEINBERG, she was the wife of the late Morris J. (Moishe) STERN, sister and sister-in-law to the late Pearl and David SURDIN. May's▲ Friendship▲ and caring knew no bounds and those lucky enough to fall within radius of her enormously generous personality rarely left her presence without a laugh and a smile. Any friend she made remained so for life, from girlhood at College and Bathurst, as a young married couple with Moishe in Hamilton, through the years back in Toronto, before and after Moishe's death, and then on to an exciting "new" life on Vancouver Island. She will be sorely missed by her many cousins, nieces, nephews and countless Friends as well as every salesperson, waiter and hairdresser she ever came in contact with and drew into one of her innumerable conspiracies. He was acknowledged as Artemasia Township Citizen of the year in 1999 for his contribution to his community. Passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2006 at William Osler Health Centre, Brampton. Born in what he referred to as the "Land of Song" - Wales, in a small village, Nantgarw, near Pontypridd, home of singer Tom Jones. Emigrated, at 7 years of age, to Canada with his parents and brother, John. Settled in North Hatley on Lake Massawippi, in what he often referred to as "the beautiful Eastern Township of Quebec." He would often comment as to "how dear to his heart were the scenes of his childhood." Served in the Canadian Army "R.C.E." overseas from 1940-1945. Married his wife, Daphne, in England in 1942 and celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in August 2002. Discharged from the Army in early 1945, settled in Montreal where his wife, Daphne, and 2 year old son joined him in late 1945. Lived in Montreal until 1962. Was transferred to Brampton, Ontario by the company now named "Nortel", where he was employed as Department Manager on his retirement after some 32 years. His wife and son joined him in Brampton after several weeks. Predeceased by his daughter, Darlene age 6, and his son, Barry age 24 years. Also predeceased by his brother, John. Survived by his wife Daphne, of Brampton and niece, Rose WEINHOLD of Cowansville, Quebec. A Funeral Service will be held at Saint_Joseph of Nazareth Anglican Church, 290 Balmoral Drive, where he was an active member since 1963 on Wednesday, April 5, 2006 at 10 a.m. with a time of visitation one hour prior.
