Of R.R.#3, Blenheim passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2006 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance. Born and raised in Harwich Township 86 years ago son of the late Reginald WARRINER and Annie PILBEAM. Gordon farmed and lived in the fourth line community until moving to Blenheim Community Village last year. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Evelyn WARRINER (PICKERING;) three sons, Roy and Frances of Trout Creek, Ivan and Janet, Garry and Elaine all of Blenheim. Missing their Grandfather are Jackee and Paul GROENEWEGEN, Scott and Shawna WARRINER, Julianne WARRINER, Todd and Bev WARRINER, Lynne, Nick and Paul WARRINER along with seven great-grandchildren. Also surviving are Gord's two sisters Evelyn MUIR (Burke) of Blenheim, Margaret (David) BALDWIN of Erie Beach and several nieces and nephews. Resting at the J.L. MARSHALL, Hugh Grigg (1928-2006)
Died peacefully in his sleep at home on Thursday, March 2 in his seventy-eighth year. son of the late Ernest Lawrence MARSHALL and Margaret Dunbar WHITE/WHYTE. He is survived by his loving wife Joan (RETALLACK,) beloved children David and Stephanie (Justin WARSHAW,) and granddaughter Ursula Evelyn WARSHAW; sister Elizabeth IMRIE and niece Anne; and sisters-in-law Nancy (Michel LAMBERT) and Christine (John YIP) and their families. Hugh MARSHALL was always very active in his communities, at McGill University as an engineering student, and later as Chairman of the Alma Mater Fund and on the Faculty of Engineering Council; in Scouts Canada as a boy and member of the Knights of Tamara, and adult volunteer on Provincial Council; in the Anglican Church, especially through his Sunday School teaching and Bible Study at both Saint Mary's and St. James Churches in Hudson. His career in the pulp and paper industry as Vice President and General Manager of Midland Ross Corporation was a lifelong interest that continued until this year when he attended the annual convention of the Canadian Pulp and Paper Association in Montreal as a Fifty Year 'veteran'. He was a loving father and husband, whose enthusiasm for new adventures led the family on canoe camping trips and cross Canada explorations, from Newfoundland to the Yukon, including an exciting trip down the Nahanni River. He also treasured his salmon fishing expeditions with Friends. He will be deeply missed. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to: Saint Mary's Church, Parish of Vaudreuil; McGill University; the Old Brewery Mission; or to a charity of your choice. Suddenly, with his loving family by his side, on Thursday, January 19, 2006, at the Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital. Lorne, beloved husband of 62 years to Phyllis (HARRISON.) Loving father of Lorna BANTING and her husband Doug, and the late David and his wife Dorothy. Brother of Ruth NEWELL and the late Kenneth WARWOOD. Loved grandfather of Darren (Kym,) Cara, Colin, Laura (Pierre), David, Kyle (Carmela), and Alex. Great-grandfather of Samantha, Zachary, Elizabeth, and Bailey. Visitation will be held at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville (one block east of Kerr Street, 905-844-2600), on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Service to celebrate the life of Lorne will be held at 2: 30 p.m. on Monday, January 23, 2006 in the Kopriva Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Victorian Order of Nurses Halton - Alzheimer Seniors Day Program, 2370 Speers Road, Oakville, Ontario L6L 5M2 would be appreciated by the family.
