Of Saint Thomas, on Wednesday, October 11, 2006, peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, in his 54th year. Dearly loved husband of Colette (TRUDELL) GORMAN and much loved father of Jeremy and Sean. Dear brother of Gerald and his wife Clare of Bolton, Lawrence "Larry" and his wife Jane of Waterloo, Paul of Niagara Falls, Michael and his wife Annis GORMAN of Newmarket and Mary Ann HORNE of Port Colborne. Dear son-in-law of Elizabeth TRUDELL and brother-in-law of Blair TRUDELL and Charlene CARTER. Sadly missed by a number of nieces and nephews. Robert was born in Welland on May 25, 1953, the son of the late Harry and Margaret GORMAN. He taught school for the Thames Valley Board of Education at Locke's Public School. He was a member of Holy Angels' Church and sang in the Traditional Choir. Robert was 2nd Lieutenant in the Elgin Regiment and Past President of the Elgin Regiment Association. Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin Street, Saint Thomas until Saturday morning and then to Holy Angels Church where Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10: 00 a.m. Cremation to follow. Visitation Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Prayers will be recited at the funeral home Friday at 7: 00 p.m. Donations may be made to the Holy Angels Church Restoration Fund.

A resident of Chatham passed away Monday, October 16, 2006 at C.K.H.A. Public General Campus in his 79th year. Beloved husband of the late Iva May (BUTLER) QUICK (2002) for 53 years. Survived by daughters Janet HESS (John) of Wallaceburg and Cathy LEVESQUE (Richard) of Chatham, grandchildren Michael HESS, Holly and Adam SNOW and Melanie LEVESQUE and friend Nathan TRUDELL. Also survived by 2 sisters Grace BOOSE (Earl) and Gail OLIVER (Roy.) Walter is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his father Frank QUICK (1934,) his mother and step-father Olive and Fred GORDEY, sister and brother-in-law Frances and Marvyn PURBRICK. After retiring as Corporal from the O.P.P. in Woodstock in 1985 after 32 years of service, he returned to Chatham where he would be closer to family and Friends. He was a member of Chatham Baptist Church for many years. Wife of the late Walter ROWDEN and dear mother of Lee ROWDEN and his partner Mary Helen RAMERTH, William and his wife Diane ROWDEN, Marie TRUDELL and the late Raymond "Red" ROWDEN (1974.) Predeceased by 2 sisters Grace (Brady) O'GRADY and Annabelle LUNN. Special aunt of Ken LUNN (Marlene,) Ron LUNN (Gail,) Ray LUNN (Doreen) and Linda CLARK (Charlie) and their families. Peacefully at Extendicare Nursing Home, with family members by his side, William Kenneth (Bill) TRUDELL on December 5, 2006 in his 96th year. Survived by his beloved wife Jean (STEWARD/STEWART/STUART) in their 69th year of marriage. Dear father of Peter, Mary Jane CORK, Carole, William (Jennifer), Paul (Jane), and Barbara DUNBAR (Allan.) Loving grandfather (Gramps) of Peter (Becky,) Lisa METCALFE (Guy), Eryn, Blair, Taylor, Clara, Thomas, Bradley, Caylin, Emily and Kelly. Dear great-grandfather of Lindsay, Andrew, Megan, Jack, Benjamin, Sarah and Yoko. Survived by his sister Marion HARTSELL. Predeceased by his brothers Jack, Leonard and George and sisters Dorothy, Winnifred, Eunice, Carol and Evelyn. Bill had a terrific career in the movie industry spanning almost 50 years. He retired in 1975 after having been manager of the Capitol Theatre in London for over 4 decades, affectionately known throughout that time as "the mayor of Dundas Street." Bill then enjoyed a second career with the Western Fair Association serving as a director for over 20 years and as president in 1989. He was also a long-standing member of the Knights of Columbus and a director of the Saint Peter's Cemetery Board. Throughout Bill's busy life he was devoted to his family and his church and he enjoyed peace and tranquility in tending his gardens. Many thanks to the staff at Extendicare for the wonderful care they have provided to Bill over the last 10 months. Visitors will be received at John T. On Tuesday evening, July 11th, Myrtle passed away at Christie Gardens in the company of her son Robert. She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Gilbert; her brother Orrie TRUEMAN and her sisters Ola and Ethel. Myrtle is survived by her loving son and daughter-in-law Bob and Ellen; her adored grandchildren Jennifer, Rebecca, Coulter and Joey, her great-grandchildren (G.G.'s Angels) Riley BOWIE, Rachel DENNY, Lila WRIGHT, Jacob BOWIE and Cate DENNY; her extended family Christopher DENNY, David BOWIE, Adrienne KIRSH and Jenny WHITELEY. She is also survived by her 98 year old sister Doris STANLEY, her aunt Ruth COULTER, her cousin Aubrey ELLA and many nieces and nephews. A long time employee of Canadian Kodak, Myrtle was an avid sportswoman, playing organized ice hockey and baseball in the 1920's and was a life member of Islington Golf Club, scoring a "hole in one" when she was 77. She was a long time member of the Imperial Order of the Daughters of the Empire Resting at Ward Funeral Home, 2035 Weston Rd., Weston. Visitation from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday. Age 99 died peacefully Tuesday, May 16, 2006 at Fairfield Park Nursing Home, Wallaceburg. She was born in Camden Township daughter of the late Levi and Emma TRUESDALE. She is survived by one daughter Frances; two grandchildren Leslie TANZI, Francis HICKS and three great grandchildren Laura, Antonio and Christine TANZI. She is predeceased by one brother David TRUESDALE. Friends will be received at the Thomas L. Born January 13, 1906 in Toronto, Ontario, she was an avid basketball player and attended Oakwood Collegiate where she graduated in 1925. She also attended the University of Toronto. In 1925 Mona married George Aubrey TRUSLER and was his loving and devoted wife for nearly 70 years. She was the mother of George (Doreen), Bill (Carol), Jane (Frank - deceased) and Jim (Heather); the loving grandmother of thirteen: Geordie (Kary), Eugene (Laurie), David (Tiziana), Andrew (Tamar), Katie (Dave), Michael, Wendy (Cam), Ross (Ann), Brittany, Iain, Roger, Maryjane and Tina (Andy) and the dearest great-grandmother of fifteen: Jay, Cricky, Robby, Connor, Thomas, Graham, Julia, Scott, Evan, Owen, Fin, Joey, Gemma, Quinn and Taylor. After▲▼ 100 glorious years, Mona Elaine Summerfeldt TRUSLER peacefully slipped away on November 16, 2006 at Belmont House in Toronto. Born January 13, 1906 in Toronto, Ontario, she was an avid basketball player and attended Oakwood Collegiate, where she graduated in 1925. She also attended the University of Toronto. In 1925 Mona married George Aubrey TRUSLER and was his loving and devoted wife for nearly 70 years. She was the mother of George (Connie-deceased) and Doreen, Bill and Carol, Jane (Frank-deceased), Jim and Heather. Mona was the much-loved grandmother of ten: Geordie (Kary), Eugene (Laurie), David (Tiziana), Andrew (Tamar), Katie (Dave), Michael, Wendy (Cam), Ross (Ann), Brittany and Iain, and the dearest great-grandmother of fourteen: Jay, Cricky, Robby, Connor, Thomas, Graham, Julia, Scott, Evan, Owen, Fin, Joey, Gemma, and Quinn. She will also be missed by the Maher family - John (Tina), Bruce (Debbie), Kitty (Dave), Sandy (Sherri), Chris, Alex, Alison, Jason, Chelsea, Jordan, Tyler, John, Iris, and by the Pemberton family - Roger, Maryjane, and Tina (Andry) and daughter Taylor. We offer our heart felt appreciation to all of the staff at Belmont House with our special thanks to her wonderful caregivers Outi, Rose, Molly and Annie. MONK, Harold Lisney
81, of Spring Hill, Florida, went to be with the Lord, the morning of Tuesday, January 10, 2006, at Evergreen Woods Rehab Center in Spring Hill. He was born in Port Credit, Ontario, October 20, 1924, the son of Harry MONK and Violet TRUSLER. He attended Port Credit High School. He served in the Canadian Navy, stationed at Halifax, Nova Scotia. He started his career at Sangamo Electric, where he met his future wife, Doreen. He then worked with Sun Life of Canada before landing a position with South Bend Lathe. It would be a company that would take him from Canada to Luxembourg, and then to the United States. He devoted 33½ years to the company, climbing to the position of Vice President of Marketing. He was an avid sailor, wood boat owner/enthusiast, and decoy collector. He loved the outdoors, Northern Michigan and Lake Charlevoix. After retiring he and his wife summered for years in Boyne City/Horton Bay. He was a member of the Masonic Order, Quinte/St. Alban's Lodge No. 620 in Toronto. A big part of his life was Saint Martin's Episcopal Church of Hudson, Florida. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Doreen Grace (BILLETT) of Spring Hill; son, Christopher L. (Georganna) MONK of Boyne City, Michigan; daughter, Laurie Ann ROETTGER of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; sister, Betty (Don) LANDONI of Fergus, Ontario; granddaughters, Jennifer (Andrew SCHROEDER) MONK- REISING of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, and Madilyn E. ROETTGER of Lambertville, New Jersey; and great-granddaughter, Viola E. SCHROEDER of Oshkosh, Wisconsin. A memorial service to celebrate Harold's life is planned for 3: 00 p.m. on Sunday, January 22, 2006 at Saint Martin's Episcopal Church in Hudson. It was Harold's wish that contributions be made to the Shriner's Children's Hospital in Tampa or Saint Martin's Episcopal Church.

After an amazing and full ninety-three years, Ellie died peacefully in her sleep on May 4, 2006. She was the dedicated wife of the late Alfred TRUSTY, and loving mother to Joann (and husband Mike) and Peggy (and husband Ron). Ellie was always giving and kind to her grandchildren Allen ( and wife Susan) and Jennifer (and husband Dave). Ellie cherished spending time with her great-grandchildren Andrew and Stephanie. Friends are welcome at a visitation at Trull "North Toronto" Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 2704 Yonge Street (5 blocks south of Lawrence) on Sunday May 7 from 2-4 p.m. and at the funeral service Monday May 8 at 2 p.m. at St. Timothy's Anglican Church (100 Old Orchard Grove, at Ridley).
