Died in her 79th year, following a long struggle with cancer, Saturday, April 22, 2006, at York Central Hospital. Regina died surrounded by family and her loving husband Bert. Devoted mother to Toni, Teri, Jocelyn, Ramona, Lola, Gigi and Tamara. Grandmother to Samantha and Jesse STEWARD/STEWART/STUART, Brendan and Cullen McFATER. Regina lived a full life as an artist, painting and running an art gallery. Many of her paintings are in private collections in Europe, the U.S. and Canda. She and Bert travelled extensively over the past 40 years, covering North and South America and Europe. She was an active member of book clubs, art clubs and writing groups. Beatrice was preceded in death by her husband Charles TRENHOLM; daughter Mona HARBOTTLE (LEBLANC) sisters Louise WINTERSGILL, Alice BROWN, Susie PARKER, Annie GEORGE and Cecilia ROURKE. Survivors include daughter Nona BOUDREAU of Calgary, sons Greg (Nancy OSTMAN) TRENHOLM of Dryden and Rick (Kathy) TRENHOLM of Calgary. She will be greatly missed by grandchildren, Kevin LEBLANC, Judy PRETLI, Jo-Ann WATSON, David BOUDREAU, Renee BOUDREAU-KENDLEY, Denise BOUDREAU, Greg TRENHOLM, Jackie TRENHOLM, Patty TRENHOLM, Jeff TRENHOLM and Tyler TRENHOLM; plus numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Beatrice was born and lived her early years in Oxdrift. Once married, she moved to Amherst, Nova Scotia After her husband's death, she moved to Chatsworth to care for Gillan CURRIE, where she farmed and raised her family for many years before moving to Dryden. She eventually returned to Owen area and resided at Lee Manor until her death. She will be remembered fondly for her great laughter, sense of humor and her love for all animals. CLIFFORD, Gordon Johnston (July 2, 1941-March 12, 2006)
It is with sorrow and sadness that the family announces the passing of their beloved Gordon CLIFFORD, who passed away on Sunday March 12, 2006 at the Seven Oaks Hospital after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Gordon was predeceased by his father, Johnston Samuel CLIFFORD. Gordon will be deeply missed by his many Friends and family including his close companion Gertrude MEIER, his children Charmaine LANG of British Columbia. Dan (Cindy) CLIFFORD of Saskatchewan. and Monty (Heather) CLIFFORD of Saskatchewan. and their mother Audrey CLIFFORD of Saskatchewan. his grandchildren: Candace, Jilleen, Spencer, Courtney, Chelsey, Brandon and Shaylyn, his mother, Doris CLIFFORD of Ontario., brother Garfield (Marion) of Ontario, sisters Carol TRENT of British Columbia and Pauline (Ron) FENTON of Ontario. As well as Gertrude's sons Robert KOPTON and Jurgen KOPTON (dtr. Allysen.) As well as numerous nieces and nephews. Gord started his career with the Military Provo Core in Ontario; he went on to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Regina where he started his family. Gord moved back to WaWa, Ontario with the local police service where he continued in law enforcement for 3 more years. Gord spent the last 38 years with the Teamster's Union starting as a truck driver and worked his way up to becoming the President of the Local Union 979 in Winnipeg. Gord was also a 46-year member of the Royal Canadian Legion, as well as a member of the John Osborn Unit #1 Army, Navy, and Air Force Veterans in Canada. Gordon lived life to the fullest he had a love for the outdoors were he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Most important to Gord was his close Friends and family who he always made time for. The family wished to extend their deepest gratitude to all the special Friends and family who visited Gord over the past 3 weeks. The family also wishes to thank, Doctor Martens, Dr. Wilson and the 5th floor nursing staff unit 1 at the Seven Oaks Hospital for the excellent care and compassion given to Gord during his stay. A Celebration of Gordon's life will be held at 10: 00 a.m. on Friday March 17, 2006 at the Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Winnipeg, Manitoba. (south of the Royal Canadian Mint). An honour guard was formed by the C.W.L. at the mass and also provided the luncheon following the service. Interment followed in Resurrection Cemetery. Julia was a member of St. Benedict's Church and the C.W.L. Beloved wife of Chris JONGERIUS for 51 years. She died as she lived, at home surrounded by family and Friends. A loyal wife, devoted mother, adored teacher, committed friend fighting and defiant to the very end, she never gave up hope! On Thursday, May 18 2006 Anne WALPER passed away at the age of 80, following a yearlong battle with cancer. On July 25, 1947 she married Harvey WALPER at Lieury United Church. He survives. Other survivors include Keith, Doug, Joanne, Elizabeth, Ian, Cathy, Brent, Justin, Derek and Sean. One daughter, Mary Louise her father and mother, George and Margaret NEIL; two sisters Evelyn TREVITHICK and Irene JOHNSON; and three brothers Russell, Donald and Andrew preceded her in death. Cremation has taken place and private family services held; Interment in Grand Bend Cemetery. Beloved wife of Victor FINNIE and the late John Norman TREWARTHA (2001). Of Saint Thomas on Wednesday, April 26, 2006 at the Saint Thomas-Elgin General Hospital, peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, in her 72nd year. Wife of the late William Howard DUFTON (1999) and dearly loved mother of Barbara Anne DUFTON of Collingwood and Robert Edward and his wife Hideko of Saint Thomas. Loved grandmother of Lisa. Dear Sister of Dorothy THAYER of Northville, Michigan, Iris SLANEY of Dunrobin and the late Douglas TARRY (1993.) Dear sister-in-law of Fran Tarry TREWSDALE and her husband Howard of Saint Thomas. Sadly missed by a number of nieces and nephews. Frances was born in Saint Thomas on December 20, 1934, the daughter of the late Thomas Edwin and Dora Ann (WEEKLY) TARRY. She worked at Saint Thomas Collegiate, Central Elgin Collegiate, for Doctor Ken CLARKE and later Doug Tarry Homes and Collier Homes. She was a volunteer a number of years at the Saint Thomas-Elgin General Hospital. Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin Street, Saint Thomas where funeral service will be held Monday at 3: 30 p.m. Interment to follow in Elmdale Cemetery. Visitation Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Remembrances may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Lung Association or the charity of choice. POWELL, Bill
It is with sadness that the family announces the passing of Bill POWELL at Woodingford Lodge, Woodstock on Monday, January 23, 2006 in his 81st year. Bill was a son of the late G.D. (Del) POWELL and Charlotte (CAYLEY) POWELL. Predeceased by his sister Jacqueline (Jackie) GARDINER (1999.) Survived by his wife of 52 years Edna (PORTER) POWELL of Woodstock, son Rick of Spruce Grove, Alberta and four grandchildren. Also sister Margaret TREZISE of Woodstock and brothers George (wife Bertha) of Saint John's, Newfoundland, Laurie (wife Joan) of Woodstock and Charles (wife Dale) of Ottawa. Remembered by nieces, nephews, relatives and Friends. At the outbreak of the Second World War, Bill joined the Oxford Rifles in Woodstock, then the Royal Rifles of Canada in Quebec, the Royal Canadian Navy in Halifax, and the Royal Canadian Air Force in Winnipeg. In each case he was discharged for being under age. He went to sea with the Merchant Navy, serving on Canadian and American ships carrying supplies in war zones in the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian Oceans. He continued to serve on merchant vessels until 1950. On his return to Southwestern Ontario, Bill worked for Veterans Affairs Canada in London. Following his retirement he returned to his hometown in Woodstock. Bill has been a member of Branch 55 of the Royal Canadian Legion for more than 60 years. He was active in a number of organizations including the Naval Association, the Historical and Genealogical Societies, and the reunion committees for Chapel School and W.C.I. The family would like to thank the staff at Woodingford Lodge for their loving care and support. Friends may call at the R.D. Longworth Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock (539-0004) Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where the complete funeral service will be held in the chapel Thursday at 1: 30 p.m. Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery, London.
