It is with deep sadness that the family announces the death of Ken LAMBERT, age 76 on Saturday, September 16th, 2006. Ken is survived by Libby (née TAILOR/TAYLOR,) his devoted wife of 56 years, by children Lesley (Konrad ENGEL), Taylor (Anne Marie), Nicky, Iain (Karen,) and Pamela (Stephen SMALLEY,) and by grandchildren Kilian, Katharina and Maximilian ENGEL, Kenton,▼ Michael,▼ Anna▼ and Stephen LAMBERT, Justin, David, Kate and Max SULLY, Brittany, Adriane and Madeleine LAMBERT, and Benjamin, Peter and Emma SMALLEY. Ken was born in Colombo, Ceylon (now Sri Lanka) on October 26, 1929, and was raised in Oakville, Ontario. He studied medicine at McGill University and completed his surgical residency at Dartmouth Medical School. He worked for three years at McCord Zulu Hospital in Durban, South Africa and practiced family medicine and general surgery in Goderich, Ontario for almost 30 years until his retirement in 1992. Ken was widely admired and respected by colleagues and patients for his compassion skill and total dedication to his profession. He had a range of interests and traveled widely throughout the world. He was a committed environmentalist and outdoorsman, who was happiest working on his land at Lalapanzi and canoe tripping with his Friends and family. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 21 from 6: 00 to 9:00 p.m. at McCallum and Palla Funeral Home, 11 Cambria Road North, Goderich. A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 22 at 11: 00 a.m. at St. George's Anglican Church in Goderich. Reception to follow. It is with great sadness that her daughter announces Ede's passing, after a brief and unexpected battle with cancer, on October 3rd, 2006. She passed away at the Brantford General Hospital with her daughter and son-in-law by her side. Ede is the beloved wife of the late Alf KNIGHT (2006.) She is survived by her loving daughter Lynda JACKSON and her husband Bruce and her only surviving sibling Doris KENNEDY. Predeceased by her parents Charles (1956) and Alice (1938) BEAR; her brothers and sisters Charles (1971,) Emma Liley (1988), Frederick (1989), Leonard (1993), Alice Liley (1993,) Walter (1994,) Gertrude SMALLMAN (1994,) Kathleen DELVES (2002) and an infant brother. She will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and Friends. In her younger years, Ede worked in various factories in London, Ontario, O Pee Chee Gum, McCormick's Biscuits, Kelvinator, General Steel Wares (on war work) and Natures. She also bowled on a team for Taylor Electric. Ede was a member of the Chancel Guild for many years at the Church of the Epiphany, London and for over forty years at Saint Mark's Anglican Church, Brantford. She was a creative seamstress/dressmaker providing most of the clothing for herself and her daughter, as well as items for church bazaars and an avid and talented gardener for most of her life. After the age of 65, Ede studied oil painting, which was one of her lifelong dreams, and became an excellent and prolific painter. Friends will be received at the Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral Centre, 88 Brant Ave., Brantford on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at Saint Mark's Anglican Church, 155 Memorial Drive, Brantford on Friday at 1: 00 p.m. The Venerable James SUTTON Officiating. Gert will be remembered for her zest for life, great sense of humour and love of sports.
