Bruce was born in Strathroy, April 13, 1940, son of the late Gordon GRUNDY and the late former Myrtle NOYES. Survived by Muriel PAYNE of Ailsa Craig and the late former James PAYNE. Much loved husband of 44 years of Doris (CLARK) GRUNDY. Of Mar passed away as the result of a sudden heart attack at Wiarton District Hospital on Tuesday, December 5, 2006 in his 68th year. Beloved husband and best friend of Pat for 48 years. Bob was the cherished father of Steven SHIELDS and his fiancee Terri of Kitchener, Nancy SHIELDS of Marathon, Kelly SHIELDS of Cambridge, Mark SHIELDS of Breslau and Leslie SHIELDS and her husband Dave DYNEROWICZ of West Montrose who will all miss him dearly. Very special grandfather of Katy, Rob, Melanie, Olivia, Joey and James. He will be sadly missed by sister-in-law Frances SHIELDS of Waterloo. Bob was predeceased by his parents Lydia (SIMON) and Werner SHIELDS, his brother Bruce SHIELDS and sister Jean SHIELDS. Bob was a warm and gentle man who loved animals and the outdoors. He worked at Lear Seating for 32 years, was a member of the Independent Order of Oddfellows Spirit Rock Branch #312 and a regular attender of the Wiarton Men's Breakfast. Suddenly and peacefully in Toronto on Wednesday June 21, 2006, surrounded by her family, Norma (Nan) Winnifred Ecclestone LEGRIS, in her 88th year. Nan was the devoted wife of Joseph Antoine (Tony) LEGRIS for 61 years. Loving mom of Paul LEGRIS (Pierrette,) Etobicoke; Robert (Cheryl,) Calgary, Alberta; Anne Clifford ANDERSON Toronto, and Rosemary Legris MacKENZIE (Gavin,) Markham. Devoted grandmother (Nana) of Eric and Chris CLIFFORD, Tom LEGRIS, Ashley Legris HOBSON, Charlotte, Travis, and Brooke MacKENZIE. Great-grandmother of Jax HOBSON. She leaves her sister Eva Ecclestone SHIELDS and was predeceased by six siblings, Inez, Alice JACKSON, Phyllis, Anne (Kit) FRYER, Tom, and Charles. She was a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. Nan was the youngest child of Flora Jermyn ECCLESTONE and Albert Edward ECCLESTONE of Bracebridge, Ontario. She trained and was registered a nurse at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto until her marriage to Tony in 1945. A loving wife and mother, she devoted her life to her family and Friends in Toronto and Muskoka. She was an excellent cook and lifelong knitter, as well as an avid golfer and curler at St. George's Golf and Country Club in Etobicoke for many years. Nan was also a passionate bridge player and played in four different clubs in Toronto. Above all, she was a lifelong Tory supporter. Friends may call at the Turner and Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W., at Windermere, east of the Jane subway on Thursday, from 7-9 p.m. and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass to be held at St. Gregory's Roman Catholic Church, Rathburn Road (at Kipling) on Saturday, June 24, 2006 at 2 p.m. Interment on Monday, June 26, 2006 in Bracebridge. In loving memory of William "Keith" DRAKE, 81, who passed away suddenly on the morning of Nov 22 at Markham Stouffville Hospital. Keith's memory will always be cherished by his wife Marjorie as a most loving and generous husband, and by his daughters Ann, Mary and Wendy as the best and most loving father. His grandchildren, Tom and Emily MALLIN, Alec and Frances PARRY and William SHIELDS, will always have a place in their hearts for him. He will be sorely missed by his sister Pat, sons-in-law Simon PARRY and Robert SHIELDS. Keith and Marjorie met and fell in love 62 years ago. They travelled extensively and have lived in England, France and Spain as well as Canada. Keith originally came to Canada to train as a pilot, and later returned with his wife and 15 month old daughter. His career in advertising and marketing spanned five decades. He retired from Telemedia in 1993, having previously worked at General Foods in Canada, England and France. Peacefully after a brief illness, on Friday, February 24, 2006 at Headwaters Hospital, at the age of 82 years. Marjorie is predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Harold BULGIN. She will be sadly missed by her daughter Beverly SHIELDS (husband Gerry,) son Steve BULGIN (wife Terri,) and daughter Judy HIPKIN. Marjorie will also be fondly remembered by her grandchildren: Lisa Shields BROAD (husband Ken,) Rhonda BULGIN, and Brenda PITTMAN (husband Bronson), and she was Nana to great-grandchildren Bradley, Shawna, Tristan, Jamie and Cody. Marjorie lived a long and interesting life, and was much loved by all who knew of her gentle yet strong spirit. A memorial service in celebration of Marjorie's life will be held on Saturday, March 4 at 2: 00 p.m. at Trinity Anglican Church, 3515 King Street, Inglewood. Beloved husband and best friend of Norma, devoted father of Marty and Charles. Loving son of George and Eleanor PHILLIPS of Union, Ontario and son-in-law of Jean BURROWS of Edmonton, Alberta. Lovingly remembered by brothers Neil and Charles (Sara,) sister Mary SHIELL (Mike) and sister-in-law Barbara (Bryan) ARMSTRONG and his nieces and nephews Greg, Geoff, Graeme, Jackson, Allison, Elizabeth, Christine, Maclean, Maddie and Marin. A graduate of the University of Western Ontario (History), George had an extensive career in Museum Management at the Royal Tyrell Museum, The Exploration Place in Prince George, British Columbia and most recently at the Markham Museum. Known for his creative approach to revitalizing regional museums, George was the recipient of many awards for his visionary work. A memorial service was held on Saturday, October 28th in Markham. Herbert Clifton EBY of Feversham passed away in Grey Bruce Regional Health Centre on January 7, 2006 in his 90th year.
Herb was born in Elsinor, Ontario on August 8, 1916, the son of the late Gideon and Georgina EBY. In 1926 the EBY's left the farm at Elsinor and moved to Feversham and purchased what was to become known as "Eby's Store".
Herb aftended public and continuation school in Feversham and in 1936 he married Madge DAVIDSON. The young couple resided in the apartment above the family store and Herb worked for his father. In 1937 their son Stephen was born and shortly thereafter, Herb, Madge and baby moved to Barrie where he worked at a hardware store and drove a taxi.
In 1946 they returned to Feversham to take over the general store as the elder EBY's moved to Walters Falls. In 1950 their daughter, Sally May, was born. Herb purchased an insurance business from Norman HARRIS and for the next 15 years he and Madge operated the store and the insurance business.
Herb was an active member of many community organizations and as many of his generation was involved in getting what is now known as the "old community centre" established. He enjoyed many years in the bowling league there. The church was an important part of the EBY's life and for 40 years Herb was an Elder at Burns' Presbyterian Church in Feversham.
1986 was a landmark year for the EBY's as they celebrated 40 years of operating the store, their 50th wedding anniversary and made the decision to sell the store and retire to the home they purchased in the village.
Left to mourn his passing are Madge, his wife of 69 years, son Steve, daughter Sally, son-in-law John HOOD, grand_son Kevin HOOD, sisters Marguerite FORSYTH and Marion DOBIE as well as many nieces, nephews and Friends.
A funeral service was held in Burns Church on January 10, 2006 with Dr. David GLADWELL officiating. Pallbearers were Kevin HOOD, Todd ARMSTRONG, Scott ARDIEL, Bill BRISTOW, Wayne DAVIDSON, Lonnie HUDSON. Honourary pallbearers were Elmer MULLIN, Bruce DOUGLAS/DOUGLASS, Lloyd HUDSON, Burt HALE and Murray LASHOVICH.
Flowerbearers were Reta PHILLIPS, Bonnie DAVIDSON, Carol WAGSTAFF, Mary Lynn McCAULEY, Pamela BRISTOW, Cindi ALLEN, April HUBBARD, Lois PLUMMER and Jane ARDIEL. An excellent eulogy was provided by Burt HALE and a reading by John HOOD. Evelyn DARGAVEL and Kenton HUDSON shared their gift of music and Burt HALE, Rev. Charles JACKSON, Barbara SHIER and Kenton HUDSON sang "Because He Lives". Following the service a large crowd enjoyed the wonderful lunch organized by the Osprey Museum Committee assisted by Friends in the community.
Herb will be remembered for his quiet, gentle manner and he will be missed walking the streets of Feversham with his wee dog Lori.

McCART, Arthur Henry Wilson
It was the last battle of a brave soldier. Arthur Henry Wilson McCART of Ingersoll, Ontario lost his battle to stay with us on April 20th, 2006, 11 days after his 81st birthday. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at the London Health Sciences Centre, Westminster Campus, London, Ontario. Arthur served his country during the Second World War as a young lad in the Royal Canadian Navy, stationed in Halifax, Nova Scotia. After the war he started his life as a police officer, which took him to such places as Timmins, London, Delhi, Wiarton, Ingersoll and finally retired in 1985 as the Chief of Police in the Region of Haldimand Norfolk (Simcoe). Arthur received many awards for his outstanding service in the community during his 38 years as a police officer. He died a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, a very proud veteran and a true gentleman. We'll see you on the other side "Chief". He leaves behind to mourn, his loving wife and best friend and confidant for over 60 years, Shirley Mae (WILKINS.) Also loved by his children, Sharron HAHN and her husband Wilf of London, Michael J. McCART of Calgary, Maureen SHIER and her husband David of Ingersoll and Susan ROBB of West Lorne. Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Tracer, Teesha, Corrie, Larrie, Darrell, Tyler, Teneal, Jamie, Paul and Anthony. He will also be missed by 9 great-grandchildren with two more on the way. Sisters Audrey, Ann and Marjorie and a brother Jerry and his wife Bunny, and brothers-in-law James and his wife Irene, David and his wife Chris also survive him.
