LAMPHIER, Thelma Doris (née MULHOLLAND)
(April 27, 1918-September 25, 2006)
On Monday, September 25, 2006, Mrs. Thelma Doris LAMPHIER (nee MULHOLLAND,) of London, Ontario, in her 89th year, passed away in Edmonton, Alberta, surrounded by her loving family, following a celebration of the 65th Wedding Anniversary of Thelma and her devoted husband, Leo James LAMPHIER. Thelma's indelible spirit, irrepressible sense of humour, and undying devotion to her cherished husband and family will be remembered forever. Thelma was born a prairie girl, in Pontieux, Saskatchewan, where she lived as a child until her parents, Gwen MULHOLLAND (née PRYCE) and George, moved to London. One of nine children, Thelma was predeceased by her dear son Brian, her mother and father, her two brothers, Wilfred and Clifford, and three sisters, Helen, Dorothy and Ethel. Thelma is survived by her husband and lifelong best friend, Leo, two loving daughters, Brenda and Anne, three adoring sons, Steve, Gary and Wayne, their devoted spouses, Reid, Spencer, Deborah, Toni, and Diana, as well as six wonderful grandchildren: Trevor, Madeleine, Devon, Connor (LAMPHIER), Leigh and Kate (SALTERS), and her gorgeous, first great-grandchild, Anneli (OLSON.) Thelma is also survived by her youngest sister, Gladys (MERROW,) her younger brother Kenneth (MULHOLLAND) and her elder brother Howard (MULHOLLAND.) Visitation will be held on Friday, September 29th from 2: 00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. at the Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, with prayers at 7: 00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Parish, 777 Valetta Street, London, on Saturday, September 30, 2006, at 10: 00 a.m. with interment to follow at Saint Peter's Cemetery. A lunch and celebration of Thelma's life will immediately follow at Holy Family Parish Hall. KLEIMAN, Sylvia (née FROHMAN)
After a protracted illness on Tuesday, December 26, 2006, Sylvia KLEIMAN, wife, mother and grandmother extraordinaire, died at her home, in her 87th year. Until felled by the ravages of disease and dementia some 20 years ago, Sylvia was an expansive and dynamic woman. A canteen singer in World War 2, she was generous and genial, musical and funny. Humour finally eluded her, but music comforted her to the end. Sylvia is survived by her devoted daughter and son-in-law, Maureen and Lorne SALTMAN, and her darling granddaughter, Alex; her siblings, Barbara and Bernard JESSEL, and Sydney and Marie FROHMAN, and her brother-in-law Abe KLEIMAN. She was predeceased by her parents, Freda and David FROHMAN; her siblings, William and Sylvia FROHMAN, and her dedicated husband, James KLEIMAN. The family appreciates the loving and exemplary care of Aida Malunao, who enriched her last 10 years. Services were held on Wednesday, December 27, 2006 at Roselawn Cemetery. Shiva will be observed at Bradgate Arms, 54 Foxbar Road, Toronto, from Wednesday, December 27 to Friday, December 29.
