Mary was a fantastic lady who at an early age even had her pilot's license. She joined the Woman's Army Corp. in June 1943, was overseas during World War 2, and retired in May 1946 as Sgt. BISHOP. Her▼ military career was influenced by her father, Col. Reginald Worth BISHOP and her uncle the late William Avery "Billy" BISHOP, V.C. She was also predeceased by her Aunt Louie MacKAY of Owen Sound. Mary will be fondly remembered by cousins, Arthur BISHOP of Toronto, Maurise (Jackie) WILLS- CONNOR of Ottawa, and Fred W. Woman dies, child spared
An autopsy will determine whether medical factors may have led to the death of Barbara WICKERSON, 73.

A two-vehicle crash claimed the life of a woman yesterday morning at Thirteen Mile and Wonderland roads. (Mike HENSEN, London Free Press)
Birr -- A London-area woman is dead after a two-vehicle crash near here yesterday that also affected a three-year-old girl.
Barbara WICKERSON, 73, was driving east along Thirteen Mile Road at 10 a.m. when her eastbound sport utility vehicle collided at Wonderland Road with a minivan heading south, Middlesex Ontario Provincial Police said.
An autopsy today will examine if medical factors may have contributed to the death of the Middlesex Centre woman, officers said at the scene, about seven kilometres north of London.
Her injuries, they noted, didn't appear severe enough to have been fatal.
Three generations of the same family were in the minivan, including Nikaia SIRE- RODRIGUES, 3, of Toronto. Her mother, Marcie SIRE, 30, and grandmother, Harolyn SIRE, 59, of Lucan, were hurt.
The toddler was properly strapped into a car seat and that likely saved her from injury, Ontario Provincial Police Const. Chris HUNTER said. "It's just great to see the compliance from parents" to the provincial car seat laws."
Long stretches of road around the rural intersection were closed for hours yesterday as Ontario Provincial Police investigators examined the scene.
The minivan, which had been heading south toward London, came to rest several metres from the road in an open field. The sport utility vehicle, with major front-left damage, ended up nearby.
No charges will be laid, Const. Doug GRAHAM said.

Migrant worker killed at farm
Tuesday, May 23, 2006
Saugeen Shores - A 39-year-old migrant worker was killed Saturday in a freak accident in Saugeen Shores.
Samuel GIL, a worker from Mexico on Hi-Berry Farms, which is located between Southampton and Port Elgin on Highway 21, was loading asparagus onto the back of a truck when the truck accidentally backed over him.
GIL, a husband and father of six, had returned to Hi-Berry Farms each year for the past five years to take part in planting and harvesting on the fresh-produce farm. [Death notice named him as GIL- MONTESINOS, Samuel Maurilio]
"We lost not just a worker," said the company's co-owner, Luke CHARBONNEAU, "he was also a friend."
CHARBONNEAU said they are trying to make arrangements to bring his wife to the area, so she can escort her husband's body back to Mexico.
"It's a tragic time for all of us," he said.
Driver and co-worker Abel RODRIGUEZ, also from Mexico, gave a statement to the police Sunday and it is not expected that any charges will be laid.
CHARBONNEAU said an autopsy is being performed today and funeral director Kent MILROY in Port Elgin is making the necessary arrangements to have GIL's body flown back to Mexico.
A news release from Saugeen Shores Police Service said GIL was taken by ambulance to the Grey Bruce Health Services Southampton site, where he was treated but succumbed to his injuries.
The Saugeen Shores Traffic Unit, along with the Ontario Provincial Police Technical Traffic Unit, were called in to assist, the release said. Saugeen Shores police Sgt. Ron CUILLERIER said the accident is still under investigation.

Died suddenly on Sunday, December 11, 2005 at Lake Charles, Louisiana. Beloved son of Yvonne. Cherished grand_son of Ivy WONG. Predeceased by his grandfather Arthur CHIN. Dear nephew to Dr. Maxwell CHIN, his aunt Pat FUNG and his late uncle Wilbert. Christopher will be sadly missed by many relatives and Friends here at home, in the United States and the United Kingdom. Grand Old Man Of Rugby
Frank Edwin WRIGHT of Calgary passed away on Wednesday, April 5, 2006 at the age of 88 years. 'I was born and raised in King Williams Town, South Africa, which was founded by the 1820 British soldiers on the banks of the Buffalo River. It was an ideal spot with plenty of water, lumber and blue granite. I remember the Holy Trinity Church so well. It is still a majestic structure, well over 150 years old. There I attended Sunday School and eventually became confirmed. How I liked to go to King's market and buy some nice fresh cream to go with the abundance of fresh fruit that supplemented the great variety that grew in our own back garden. There were grapes, guavas, custard apples, figs and pomegranates. We grew everyday vegetables like potatoes, carrots, cabbage and nice lettuce. It was so that one could plant all year around, a good life, indeed. I am proud to have attended Dale College as a 'day pot' meaning a local resident and that is where I developed my love of rugby. It seemed all too soon after graduating from Dale that we found ourselves in uniform and in the Middle East in North Africa. We endured some trying times during 4 years in Prisoner of War camps, first under Italian command and then German. After the war, I was sent to London where I met a beautiful Canadian woman, Irma TOTH. I was successful in persuading her to follow me to South Africa where we were married. We had three children: Frances (Richard POOTMANS,) Kay and Les (Verna.) As my wife pined for her beloved Canada, we decided to move, arriving here in the fall of 1953. Shortly after arriving, several like-minded rugby aficionados got together, placed an ad in the newspaper and were able to locate enough 'foreigners' to form two sides. Rugby was officially introduced to Calgarians! Dad spent his entire life playing and working in various capacities on the local, provincial and national level to promote and grow the game he so dearly loved. A cub leader, the treasurer and enthusiastic campaigner for many years of both provincial and federal Liberal constituencies and candidates, a member of the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame and also a recipient of the Queen's Jubilee Medal. Father also enjoyed golf and curling and the time spent with his colleagues at B.A. Oil and Gulf Oil. He was an accomplished writer, the author of many stories and poems penned for the amusement of his rugby buddies. Although he would not win any awards for his vocal performances (other then for his enthusiasm), he loved to sing. He was a good husband, a kind father and the proud grandfather of Becky and Adam. The loss of Irma in October 2003 was eased by the new family of Friends he developed at the Manor at Garrison Woods where he resided for the past several years. He valued these Friendships and the camaraderie to the end. He will be greatly missed by family, including Alice and Fred CRICK, and Peg and Rod RODWAY, his large and beloved 'Bokkie' family and his many Friends world wide. A Celebration of Life will be held at McInnis and Holloway'S, Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Monday, April 10, 2006 at 7: 00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. Passed away at her residence, Village Seniors Community, 101 - 10th Street, Hanover, on Friday, February 17th, 2006. She was 95. Survived by son-in-law Harvey MONK of Hanover, and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by husband Jack RODY, daughter Marion MONK, brothers Alfred YANDT, Milton YANDT, sisters Edith KRUEGER and Erma WITTE and Phyllis HOWIE.
