Grandfather of Alexander and William MASON. Father-in-law of Ian MASON. Brother to Barbara (Cochrane) and Derek, and uncle of many nieces and nephews in England and Scotland. David espoused the rights of the individual and the individual's responsibility to the greater good by advocating civil liberties and supporting many charities. He enjoyed a good laugh, a long sail, a dance with his wife, and a family celebration. The family's thanks are extended to the Oncology unit of Sunnybrook Hospital, in particular Doctors Danjoux and Ko and their staff, and the palliative care staff of Providence Hospital. A private ceremony celebrating David's life was held on October 3, 2006. David recognized, and was grateful for, his good fortune. In lieu of donations or flowers, he would have liked each of us to perform an act of charity for someone less fortunate. In the words of his grand_sons, good job Papa. May he rest in peace.
