Gordon farmed and lived in the fourth line community until moving to Blenheim Community Village last year. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Evelyn WARRINER (PICKERING;) three sons, Roy and Frances of Trout Creek, Ivan and Janet, Garry and Elaine all of Blenheim. Rooming house deaths probed
Police call it 'suspicious' after the bodies of two men, one sitting in a chair, are found.

A grisly discovery by a London rooming house superintendent yesterday has led to a police probe into the "suspicious" deaths of two men.
The two bodies were found -- one sitting upright in a chair, the other crumpled on the floor -- in a small bachelor unit on the top floor.
"He was sitting upright like he was looking out the window or something," superintendent Larry PICKERING said of the upright body he found when he went to investigate a bad smell coming from the unit.
"I thought at first it was a dummy. It really spooked me," he said.
Inside the small dark room in the house at 590 Hamilton Rd., near Egerton Street, were the decomposing bodies.
The unit's tenant, whom PICKERING identified as Bob POWELL, lay dead on the floor. The body of an unknown man was in the chair.
How the men died is unknown, with autopsies yet to be done, London police said.
Police did not release the men's names or ages.
PICKERING said he didn't notice any blood or obvious signs of foul play, but the room was quite dark and he left immediately afterward.
The older red brick house is carved up into about a dozen rental units and mainly houses single men.
PICKERING said he works closely with social agencies such as Streetscape to find housing for people struggling with addictions or mental health problems.
PICKERING said POWELL had moved in about a month ago and appeared to be about 50.
He said he was generally quiet but came home drunk late at night a couple of times and had been warned about violating the house rules.
POWELL had also complained about someone showing up at his door, trying to sell him crack cocaine, the super said.
A tenant across the hall from POWELL said he hadn't seen him for a few days. He complained to PICKERING when he noticed a terrible smell coming from POWELL's room.
Police sealed the room for the investigation, and PICKERING said the strong smell may make it impossible to re-rent.
"One of the cops told me it was a writeoff," he said.

Lavina Mae SHARPE died peacefully in the presence of family members in her 94th year, on December 11th after a long and gracious life. Mae was the devoted, loving wife of the late John Ernest SHARPE " Ernie" (b. 1904 - d. 1947.) She is the cherished, dedicated mother of James Arthur SHARPE. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren Jason (Tanya,) Peter (Erin,) and Kathleen SHARPE. Dear great-grandmother (G.G. Mae) of Henry, Sophia, Zoe, and Georgia Mae. She also leaves dear nieces and nephews and younger Friends. Mae enjoyed her advanced years with the frequent company of her family. She was the oldest child of Arthur Levi HOARE and Florence (née TONKIN) HOARE of Oshawa, and was predeceased by her brother Jack (Vivian) and sisters Verona (Edward) MEADES and Grace (Harold) PICKERSGILL. Most of her years (68) were lived in Brantford. Her family expresses gratitude to the tender caregivers at her Toronto residence, the Balmoral Club, to Sprint, and to the medical team and ward staff of the Toronto Western Hospital who eased the course of her final days. The family will receive Friends at the Humphrey Funeral Home - A.W. PICKFORD, Mary, 1979 -- Died This Day
Actor-producer born Gladys Louise SMITH in Toronto on April 9, Born near what is now Toronto's Hospital for Sick Children, she was baptized Gladys to please relatives. Her father was an alcoholic who abandoned his family in 1895 and died soon after. Her mother made a living as a seamstress and took in boarders. When Gladys was 7, a lodger persuaded her mother that the girl try for a part at the Princess Theatre on King Street, three blocks east of the present Princess of Wales theatre. Consequently, she played many roles and became a popular local child actress. She was soon joined by three siblings and the family troupe went on tour. In 1909, fed up with the theatre life after one Broadway success as Mary PICKFORD, she reluctantly auditioned for a silent movie, then seen as a lowly art form. She enjoyed the experience and went on to such a successful career that she is widely regarded as the first female film star. Unable to make the transition to talkies and seriously typecast, she retired from acting in 1933 and chose to go fully into producing. In 1919, she co-founded United Artists with Charles Chaplin, Douglas Fairbanks and D.W. Griffith. Before her death, she petitioned Ottawa to restore her Canadian citizenship which she believed she had lost. As it turned out, she probably never lost her status and Ottawa obliging declared her a dual citizen.

McINTYRE and his wife Marilyn of Waterloo, Ronald E. McINTYRE and his wife Jan of London and Dianne M. THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON and her husband Barrie of Chatham. Grandfather of 6, 2 Step-Grandchildren, and 10 Great-Grandchildren. Brother of Albert McINTYRE and his wife Marj of Kent Bridge, Ilene and her husband Bill McPHEE of Sarnia. Archie served as Sgt. in the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War 2 as a Physical Training Instructor. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Canada, the Independent Order of Odd Fellows Lodge, the Rebekah Lodge and was a Patriarch Militant. He was a former member of Howard Lodge Ancient, Free and Accepted Masons, Ridgetown Rotary and the Ridgetown Canadian Legion. Archie was a former partner of the McKellar and McIntyre Funeral Home, Ridgetown. He also was a former employee of Manpower with the Federal Government and was the Curator at Fairfield Museum. At Maitland Manor on Tuesday, October 31, 2006. Lillian Frances (PICOT) SWITZER of Goderich in her 91st year. Beloved wife of Merrill SWITZER. Dear mother of Maxine SWITZER, Marlene (Gary) RENAUD all of Goderich, David (Nancy) SWITZER of Strathroy and Kevin SWITZER of Goderich. Sadly missed by her grandchildren Paul RENAUD, Timothy RENAUD, Teresa RENAUD, Mark SWITZER, Kristi WAUN, Angela SWITZER and great-grandchildren Jennessa RENAUD, Snowden RENAUD, Trenton FOSTER and Madelynn SWITZER. Friends will be received at McCallum and Palla Funeral Home, Cambria Rd. at East St. Goderich on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, Bayfield Road, Goderich, on Friday, November 3, 2006 at 11 a.m. Interment Bayfield Cemetery.
