In her beautiful home, surrounded by the love of family and Friends, died December 19, 2006 in her 79th year. She is predeceased by her beloved Jack (2002) and is mourned by each of her four children, Tom▼ (Lucia,▼) Phil,▼ Susanna (Tom MORRIS) and Martha. She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Bryan, Patrick and Daniel HART, Kara▼ and Chad DICKSON/DIXON, Tyrrell, Angus▼ and Jasper MORRIS; and by her beloved brother Claude. She is predeceased by her parents, Philip and Henrietta PENSA, her sisters Mary and Florence, and her brother Philip; she will be fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews, and extended family. Madeleine will be deeply missed and forever cherished by her dear friend, Carolyn. Madeleine's life was a richly textured, colourful tapestry of Friendships that were expressions of her deep desire to be authentic, reflective, and forever open to newness unfolding. Peacefully with his wife by his side at the Southampton Care Centre in Southampton Tuesday evening May 2, 2006. Lloyd SAWYER of Sauble Beach formerly of Brampton in his 81st year. Beloved husband of the former Orma FIELD. Loving father of Bonnie and her husband Scott MORRISON of Gould Lake and Donna SAWYER of Brantford. Lovingly remembered by his three grandchildren; Ryan MORRISON and his wife Nicole, David MORRISON and Trevor SHARP and one great-granddaughter Zoie. Dear brother of Gerald SAWYER and his wife Miriam of Wellington. Predeceased by his sister Dorothy PENSON. Lloyd and Orma owned and operated Sawyers Flowers in Brampton for many years, retiring to Sauble Beach in 1974. At age 78, passed away peacefully, on March 12, 2006, in Barrie, Ontario. Sadly missed by his wife Anne (née McKILLOP) of 59 years, his children James (Patricia), Ruth Anne (Larry), Vicki (Danny), and Paul (Liz), his grandchildren Cameron, James (Ardelle), Luke (Tammy), Denise, Sarah, Andrea, Craig, and Christopher. A special thanks to Heidi PENSTONE for all her love and support. Jim was an employee of the C.I.B.C. Stationary Department for 44 years. A proud Mason, Past Master of King Solomon's Lodge No. 22, Toronto, affiliated to Kerr Lodge No. 230, Barrie, Past Grand Steward, Member of the Scottish Rite and Rameses Shrine. A Celebration of Jim's Life will be held at the Sheba Shrine Club, 142 John Street, Barrie, Ontario on Saturday, April 1 at 12 noon. Loving grandfather of 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Also survived by daughter-in-law Nellie CLAYTON of Belgrave. PENTLAND, Howard Milton
Born April 27, 1928. Died suddenly on Sunday, January 15th, 2006 of a heart attack. He is survived by his loving wife and partner Shirley. Howard had four children Margo PATERSON (John), Lawrence (Nora AUFREITER,) John (Jennifer FERGUSON) and predeceased by Mark (Wendy PENTLAND.) He had eight grandchildren he enjoyed special time with, Sarah, Leslie, Diana, Mark, Veronica, Jesse, Josh and Allie. Howard was a graduate of Victoria College and Emmanuel College Toronto B.A.B.D. He also earned a M.Th. from the University of Ottawa, 1970. He received an honorary degree Doctor of Divinity from Emmanuel College Toronto, 1978. Howard held a variety of positions within the United Church - Parishes in Magrath, Alberta, St. David's in Hamilton, Central in Welland, Grace United in Brampton, Trinity in Ottawa and Forest Grove in Toronto. He was an active 'churchman' who served in many capacities within the scope of the United Church of Canada. He was the first Secretary of Hamilton Conference, Deputy Secretary of General Council and Chair of the Division of Ministry Personnel and Education. Howard was a Reserve Chaplain in the Royal Canadian Navy from 1952 to 1982. After he retired he trained as an Interim Minister and served several parishes including Scot's Church, Adelaide, South Australia. He was interested and involved in the Senior Alumni Program at University of Toronto and received the Arbor Award for outstanding voluntary service in 2004. Howard was a lover of education, theology, and athletics. Throughout his life he was a thoughtful and compassionate person who walked with others wherever they were on their journey in life. He and Shirley enjoyed travelling together, time at the cottage and time with family and Friends. He will be greatly missed and cherished in all our memories. He will be remembered at a reception on Thursday, January 19th in the Hearth Room at Forest Grove United Church from 7-9 p.m. and at a celebration of his life to be held Friday, January 20th at 11 a.m., 43 Forest Grove Drive, North York, Ontario.
