BLACKIE served in
the Second World War touring in Burma, East Indochina, India
and Africa. He retired from the Brant County Board of Education
after 29 years in 1984, was Past President of the Sons of Scotland
and was an active member of Lodge St. Andrew, Masonic Lodge in
Scotland and Reba Lodge #515 when he arrived in Canada. David
BLACKIE will be always remembered as having a great sense of
humour, always having a good joke to tell. David will be missed
by all whose lives he touched. The

Ham served with the 12th Field Royal Canadian Artillery in France
from June 6 to July 18, 1944; was a member of the 12th Field
Regiment Association, a member and past president of Branch 197
Royal Canadian Legion in Acton, a former volunteer fire-fighter
and councilor for the Town of Acton, as well as an original member
of "Acton's Pride and Joy: The Five Straws". Following World
War 2, Ham spent most of his working years in the heavy trucking
industry, making the move from power unit to desk in the late
'60s with Trimac Transportation System, with whom he served as
operations and branch manager in various locations until his
retirement in 1985. The family will receive Friends at the MacKinnon
Family Funeral Home "Shoemaker Chapel", 55 Mill Street East,

Age 81 years resident of Pinewood Court, Thunder Bay, passed
away peacefully at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre
on October 6, 2006. Born in Wakefield, England, she was raised
and educated in England, served in the British Armed Forces during
World War 2 and later married her husband Stuart Raymond
ROGERSON.
Both immigrated to Canada in 1957 with their first son Keith.
Both Stuart and Joan worked for many years in the restaurant/hospitality
business in southern Ontario before her husband Stuart's death
in 1979. Joan later moved with her two sons to Terrace Bay, Ontario
and worked at Birchwood Terrace Senior Citizens home as Social
Activities Coordinator until retirement. Joan remarried to Arthur
LEBLANC while living in Terrace Bay then moved to Schreiber,
Ontario. Joan was an active member of Saint_John's Anglican Church
in Schreiber playing the organ, and serving as lay Minister.

Alex graduated in Mechanical Engineering from Queen's University
in 1950. He enjoyed working for several manufacturing firms and
for the last 28 years of his working life was president of Cole
Steel in Toronto and Standard Desk in Montreal. Alex enjoyed
politics, golf, and his boat, the "Meeting Adjourned" docked
at Lefroy Harbour. He was a very active member of The Board of
Trade of Metropolitan Toronto, The Canadian Council of Christian
and Jews, The Association of Professional Engineers of Ontario,
The Canadian Business Equipment Manufacturer's Association, and
the Bayview Golf and Country Club. The family sincerely appreciates
the compassionate care he received at Port Perry Hospital from
the wonderful nursing staff and Doctor
