The family of the late Lisa PERKINS- ROBINSON extend sincere appreciation to family, Friends and neighbours who visited the funeral home called, sent cards, baking to our homes purchased Mass cards and memorial cards. Special thanks to Father Steve LACROIX. To Corry LAPOINTE and Don BUCHANAN and the Saint Mary's Choir we sincerely appreciated the wonderful music at Lisa's funeral Mass. We also thank the Zion Amabel United Church Women who hosted the luncheon and the Owen Sound City Police for their assistance with traffic control for the funeral. A very special thank you to the pall bearers, cousins of Lisa's - Ryan NICKELS, Mathew HALLIDAY, Andrew DOWNS, T.J. DOWNS, Darryl DOWNS and Rod PERKINS. Sister Margaret (Anne Mary) entered Eternal Life on Friday, February 10, 2006 in Chatham, Ontario. She was born in Regina, Saskatchewan in 1908, the daughter of the late Frank and Magdalena NICKELS) WEKEL. She entered the Ursuline Sisters of Vibank in 1927 and in 1953 joined the Ursuline Religious of the Diocese of London. During her religious life she served as a teacher in Vibank, Kronan, Allan, Balgonie and Grayson, Saskatchewan. She did parish work and adult education in Rockyford, Alberta. From 1980 to 1990 she volunteered at the hospital and senior centre in Regina. She moved to Chatham in 2002. She is predeceased by her brothers Peter, Joseph, Ignatius, Frank and sisters, Sister Catherine, O.S.U. and Sister Felicitas, S.P. At her request Sister has been cremated. The Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Monday, February 20, 2006 at 9 a.m. in the Holy Family Chapel, 64 Ursuline Avenue, Chatham. Her ashes will be interred in St. Anthony's Cemetery. Peacefully in his sleep, as he wished, at his home in London, Ontario, on February 23, 2006 in his 88th year. Harold was the devoted husband and friend for 54 years of Fern SYKES (née MERRITT,) who passed away in 2000. Cherished father and father-in-law of Gail and Joe McCARTY (London) and Stephanie SYKES (Montreal.) Dear grandfather of Scott McCARTY (Dorchester) and Dr. Tracey McCARTY and her husband, Rick RIGBY (Carlisle.) Several great grandchildren will miss Grandpa Harold's warm smile, his unwavering kindness, his wit and sense of humor: Nicole McCARTY (Dorchester,) Lauren, Ryan and Erin RIGBY (Carlisle.) Harold leaves two brothers, Vern SYKES (Dundas) and Stanley SYKES (Burlington,) who, with nieces Elaine MacMILLAN (Hamilton) and Diane NICKS (Stoney Creek) and nephews Bill MacMILLAN (Hamilton,) Vern MacMILLAN (Stokes Bay,) Ross SYKES and Neil SYKES (Burlington) will mourn the passing of a fine and decent man. Harold is predeceased by his mother, Eliza and father, Harold Richard; his sisters Marion TOWNER (California) and Eileen MURRAY (Hamilton;) his son-in-law, Chuck McCARTY (London.) Harold and Fern leave many Friends and extended family in the Hamilton-Stoney Creek area where they lived for several years. A veteran of World War 2, Harold served his country overseas with the Royal Canadian Air Force. He donated his log book to the National Archives, the contents of which document a harrowing tale of a Sunderland aircraft downed in high seas off the coast of West Africa in July, 1944. A quiet hero, Harold rarely spoke of his accomplishments. When he met his lifelong love, Fern, she mentioned a friend of hers, a veteran, who was a member of "The Gold Fish Club" (fliers who had survived ditched aircrafts on the high seas). It was not until years later, after they married, that Fern learned Harold, himself, was a "Gold Fish"! He lived his life simply, with honor, truth and dignity, caring most for those near him who needed a helping hand, a shoulder to lean on, a word of encouragement, a strong but warm heart. He spread light, but as Edith Wharton wrote "There are two ways of spreading light: to be the candle or the mirror that reflects it". Harold most often reflected the light of those he loved and who loved him. The world is less light today without that mirror. As he wished, Harold's remains have been cremated. His family will gather for a private and simple interment at Forest Lawn Memorial Home and Gardens, 2001 Dundas Street, London on Saturday March 4 at 10: 00 a.m. At 11:00 a.m. on Saturday March 4, Friends and family are invited to join together for an informal reception to remember Harold and Fern: Reception area of the Forest Lawn Memorial Home at the same address. In lieu of flowers, Harold would have suggested two appropriate tributes: donation to the charity of your choice and take a few extra hours today to spend with those you love.

Emma FLOREANI 92, of Saint Thomas, passed away at the Saint Thomas-Elgin General Hospital on Saturday, March 25, 2006. Sister of the late Felice "Felix" FLOREANI (1994) and the late Aleardo "Quinto" FLOREANI (2005.) Aunt of Jacques FLOREANI and great aunt of Laurent FLOREANI and Isabelle FLOREANI, all in France. Emma is also remembered by first cousins, James NICLI (Lucille,) Robert NICLI (Katherine) and Marye McCAIG. Born in Maiano, (Udine,) Italy, September 25, 1913, the daughter of the late Stefano and Aurora (NICLI) FLOREANI, she came to Saint Thomas in the early 1960's. Emma was a member of Saint Anne's Roman Catholic Church. Friends will be received at the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington Street, Saint Thomas on Monday evening from 7-9 p.m. (Prayers at 8: 30 p.m.) The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Anne's Roman Catholic Church, Saint Thomas on Tuesday at 10: 30 a.m. followed by interment in Holy Angels' Cemetery. Died in Vancouver Hospital after a valiant struggle to survive a serious heart condition and operation on April 28th, 2006, as the sun went down he left his dear wife, Millie, and daughters, Brenda and her husband Ian MacALISTER; Maureen SLATER; Barbara and her husband Bill KRUYER; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Paula and husband Robert; Jennifer Ryan, her two daughters; Sean and Mandy MacALISTER. George was the son of Gladys and Frank SLATER of Owen Sound. He was a quiet, gentle man who loved books, fishing, hunting, hiking and gardening - a family person. He was an uncle of Bob and Wendy NICOL; Debbie NICOL; Lisa and Terry KERR; Jamie and Martha NICOL. My brother George was a kind and wonderful man. Frank passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family at his residence on Wednesday, July 12, 2006, in his 47th year. He was the beloved husband and best friend to the former Tonda NICOL. Dear grandmother of Lisa, Mellissa and Joel, great-grandmother of Samantha and Michael. Dear sister of Helen YEMEN of Toronto and the late Matthew YEMEN.
