Peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Sunday March 5, 2006, at the Tufford Nursing Home, St. Catharines in her 93rd year. Jean is predeceased by her husband Peter SIMPSON. Loving mother and mother-in-law of Peter and Kelly SIMPSON of Niagara on the Lake and Betty BAXTER of St. Catharines and friend Ken NICHOLS. Cherished grandmother of Paul and Jane OVERHOLT of Calgary, Lianne and Ken STEVENS of Welland and Ashley SIMPSON and Taylor SIMPSON of Niagara-on-the-Lake. Great grandmother of Gregory, Alexandra, Carson and Haley. Survived by her sister, Hazel McCARTNEY and brother, Robert McLACHLAN and by many dearly loved nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sisters-in-law Barbara BURROWS and Muriel McLACHLAN and brothers-in-law Jack BURROWS and Wilson McCARTNEY. Jean was an avid gardener and was respected and loved by her neighbours and Friends. She was a member of the Daughters of the Nile, London, Ontario. A kind, strong lady whose positive words and actions blanketed our entire family with love. Jean's grace and maturity was an inspiration to all of us. Jean had many Friends in Seaforth and St. Catharines who visited her regularly and they will sadly miss her. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place Thursday March 9th from 10: 00 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. at the Egmondville United Church. The service to celebrate Jean's life will be held at 11: 15 a.m. following the visitation. A luncheon will follow. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the Seaforth Community Hospital or the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family. As a tribute of Jean's life a tree will be planted in her memory. A memorial service will take place at First Grantham United Church, St. Catharines on Saturday March 25, 2006. Time to be announced. Passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 12, 2006, at the age of 95, after a long life brimming with love and laughter. Kathleen was born November 6, 1910 near Little Rapids, Ontario, and spent a happy childhood on the family homestead outside of Thessalon and in Owen Sound. She moved to Toronto during the Depression, and she and her husband William settled in Weston, where Kathleen created a home filled with love for their sons. She worked tirelessly and with quiet determination to provide her beloved boys with every possible opportunity in life. After a fulfilling career at Weston Public Library, Kathleen retired to Midland, where she nurtured a beautiful garden and many beautiful Friendships. Later in life she moved to Collingwood's Sunset Village to be nearer her family, and during her years there continued to charm all those who met her. She will be remembered by her special Friends as a warm, giving soul who was enormously proud of her family and was always happy to share stories and memories over a cup of tea. Kathleen is predeceased by her husband William and her cherished elder son Bill. She is remembered as a wonderful mother by her son Ron and his wife Terri, and by her beloved daughter-in-law Ruth. She was a doting and adored Grandma to granddaughters Kim, Karen, and Alison, and to grand_son Geoffrey, and a very loving GG (that's Great Grandma) to Samantha and Nicholas. The family wishes to thank all Kathleen's Friends and companions who cared for her and enriched her life at Sunset Village, including Bernie, Molly, Darlene and Tom, Connie, and Donna. PATERSON, William Robert " Bob"
Passed away at St. Joseph's Health Centre on Saturday, February 4, 2006 at the age of 78. Beloved husband and best friend of Mary Anne for 58 years. Survived by sister Terry BURNS (Brian) and predeceased by sisters Kitty CROSBY (Art,) Elsie WATSON (Bill,) Betty NICHOLS (Herb.) He will be sadly missed by niece Sue LAMBERT (Brian,) and nephew Lawrence CROSBY (Geri,) and many other nephews. Remarkably, at the age of 15, Bob worked diligently with the Canadian Steamship Lines where he sailed the Great Lakes from the St. Lawrence to Lake Superior. In the following years, he proudly served as a World War 2 Veteran in the Army. During his working life he was a Master Electrician being a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers for 57 years, as well as a real estate agent and broker. Bob loved fishing and the most fulfilling project of his lifetime was the 20 acre lake he engineered and built on his 100 acre Mono Township farm which he stocked with fish and operated as Watershed Trout Club from 1968 to 1984. There will be a Memorial Mass taking place at St. Clement Church, 409 Markland Dr. (corner of Bloor St. W. and Markland Dr.) on Saturday, February 11, 2006 at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Assumption Cemetery (corner of Derry Rd. and Tomken). If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the charity of your choice.

HARRISON, Clarence Elroy▼
Clarence Elroy HARRISON passed away peacefully on Monday, December 4, 2006 at Rockwood Terrace, Durham.
Elroy was born May 29, 1921 on Lot 3, Conc. 16, Proton Township to the late Clarence and Agnes Jane "Jean" (WEIR) HARRISON. He will be missed by his only sister, Agnes McEACHERN of Durham.
In his youth he worked on the home farm with his father and Uncle Phillip who farmed across the road until enlisting in the army during World War 2. He married Eva Florence COLLINS in Toronto November 25, 1944.
They purchased Lot 3, Concession 17 where they farmed and raised a family of three sons, Doug, Ken and Lorne. They were members of the Salem United Church until it closed in 1966. During the 50's and 60's, Elroy was a well-respected member of the Swinton Park Local of the Ontario Farmers Union. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 285, Dundalk for 42 years.
His hobby was raising and training racehorses and the family enjoyed many trips to the track where Elroy and Eva made Friends with many Harness Racing families from all over southern Ontario. They both loved a good game of euchre and the Saturday night dances at the Durham Legion.
Eva passed away in November 1991 and Elroy continued farming until his retirement. In January 2003, he went to live with his son Lorne and moved to Rockwood Terrace in March 2004.
Left to mourn are his sons Doug (Mary Belle), Ken (Katie) and Lorne (Liz). He is sadly missed by his grandchildren Julie (Tyler) BEINGESSNER, Mark HARRISON, Krista HARRISON and Kevin (Cheryl) HARRISON and his great-grandchildren Cole and Cooper BEINGESSNER and Ethan and Teryn HARRISON. He is remembered by his brother-in-law, Bill (Berny) COLLINS, his nieces and nephews and many Weir and HARRISON cousins and their families.
Visitation was held at the Fawcett-McEachern Funeral Home, Wednesday evening, December 6. The funeral service and committal was conducted in the Funeral Home Chapel at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 7 with Rev. David NICHOLSON officiating and Gayle MAGWOOD, organist. His son Ken compiled and read the eulogy.
The pallbearers were Ross McEACHERN, Wallace HARRISON, Anson McCABE, Michael SCHERER Kevin HARRISON and Mark HARRISON. The flower bearers were Krista HARRISON (the family spray,) Cheryl HARRISON, Ethan HARRISON, Lorna SCHERER, Joan TANAKA, Linda TOPPING, Nancy COLLINS, Louise COLLINS, Claire McEACHERN and her friend, Eton. Following the funeral, Friends and family gathered at the Royal Canadian Legion, Durham for a social time and luncheon, which was catered by members of the Legion and their associates.
Interment will take place at McNeil Cemetery, Priceville in the spring of 2007.

Al NICHOLSON died suddenly on Saturday, December 23, 2006 at the age of 65 in Harbin, China. Al was the beloved and loving husband of 35 years of Evelyn (née MARSHALL,) and cherished father of Rebecca, Alexander and his wife Carol Ann, Robert and David. Al was born in Canora, Saskatchewan, December 11, 1941 to the late Alexander (Sandy) and Marian NICHOLSON. He was the dear little brother of Mary Anna HIGGINS and the late Ruth DIBBS. He will be greatly missed by his many brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews and the Immanuel church family. Al was a talented musician, a caring teacher and a warm and giving friend and will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by many close Friends in and around Fenelon Falls, Ontario - Al and Ev's home base for many years - as well as new Friends in many exotic places Al and Ev had traveled over the past few years to teach and learn. Al was cremated in China on Christmas Day.
