Peacefully, in the company of her children, at the General Campus of the Ottawa Hospital on October 2, 2006 in her 88th year, after a lengthy illness following surgery in 2004. Mary was born in Kingston, Ontario, to Doctor Stanley and Beatrice GRAHAM and continued the family tradition of attending Queen's University. She was blessed in her marriages, first to Lt. Col. George Michael (Jim) BILLINGS who passed away in 1966, and then to Col. Richard (Dick) ROSS, who also predeceased her. She is survived by her devoted children, Rosemary, Jane (Ronald THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON) and Michael BILLINGS (Karen PHILLIPS,) her stepson Ken ROSS (Eileen,) stepdaughter Wendy EVES (Frank) and her sister, Barbara MUNRO. Her brother, Dr. Eric GRAHAM, predeceased her. She doted on her grandchildren, Robin BRENT (John), Alison BOOTH, Alexandra and Graham BILLINGS and Erin and Ian ROSS. Persuaded by her husband, Mary reluctantly became a high school teacher in 1961, teaching in Almonte, Germany, Sir Wilfrid Laurier in Ottawa and, lastly, Lisgar Collegiate, where she was an awesome Math teacher until she retired in 1978. She was the adored backbone of our family and will be deeply missed. A celebration of Mary's life will be held at St. Bartholomew's Anglican Church, 125 MacKay Street, Ottawa, at 1: 00 p.m. on Friday, October 6th. Interment at Cataraqui Cemetery, Kingston, at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair and McGarry. No visitation. Past Chairman of Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. While holding that position he activated the Sunnybrook Foundation and led its first capital campaign. Past National Chairman of the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires. Past President of the Fort York Branch of The Royal Canadian Legion. Member of the Senate of The Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders of Canada. In recent years a dedicated and proud supporter of the interests of Veterans and advisor to Veterans Affairs Canada awarded the Minister of Veterans Affairs Commendation. Humanist and early promoter of diversities and equalities. Faithful parishioner of Grace Church on-the-Hill. President and Chairman of many clubs and organizations. Member of the Order of Canada and awarded the Queen's Jubilee Medal. Distinguished and generous soldier and comrade, husband, father and grandfather, lawyer and leader. A long life, well-lived, founded on principle and service to his country, his Regiment and the Army, his family and his many communities, now embarking on what he called his last great adventure. Anita MacKENZIE, aged 75 years passed from us quietly, comfortably and peacefully after succumbing to complications resulting from her life long struggle with Lupus. Mother to Neil, Scott and wife Katie, Ian and wife Mary-Beth. Grandmother to Kristy, Lauren, Tennyson, Heather, Erin, John, Anne Marie and Matthew, she now joins her late husband Alan Stewart MacKENZIE who succumbed to cancer in May 2001. She will be missed terribly by all those that she has touched through her life. Mrs. Tessa MUNRO (née WILKES,) age 47, life long resident of Thunder Bay, passed away in St. Josephs Hospice after a courageous battle against cancer due to second hand exposure to asbestos. Her family and closest Friends surrounded her at her side. Tessa was foremost a family person who devoted herself to her family and Friends. While raising a family, Tessa assisted her husband, David, in building his business. Over the years Tessa enjoyed gardening, travel, family vacations, summer dinners on the deck of her home, bingo and her scratch tickets. Tessa especially loved to spend time with her children and granddaughter. Tessa will be sadly missed by her husband of 24 years, David; sons Colin and Christopher; daughter Kaitlin; and granddaughter Melanie (all living in Thunder Bay). She is also survived by her brothers: Arthur WILKES, David WILKES, Warren (Marie) WILKES, all of Thunder Bay, Kenneth WILKES (Edmonton;) her sisters Caren SLADE and Myrna (Milan) BENKA of Thunder Bay; mother-in-law, Patricia MUNRO of Mississauga; sisters-in-law: Kathy (Ernie) CAVILLIN, Karen (Joe) DESOUSA, Susan CHAPMAN, all of Mississauga; brothers-in-law Dennis (Debbie) MUNRO, British Columbia, and Rick (Diane) MUNRO, California, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews. Catherine HENRY was the youngest daughter of the late John Thomas McGARRELL and Mary Cecelia SHEEDY. For 61 years she was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Peter HENRY (2003.) Surviving are her four precious children, Stephen, Patrick (Betty CHRZAN,) Joanne (Bill BYRICK,) and John. She will be sadly missed by her nine grandchildren: Joseph (Marilyn BROWN,) Jason (Rebecca SCHWEHR,) Christopher (Leanne SCHAUS), Kathryn, James (Christina COMEAU), Robert, Kaitlin, Benjamin and Linsday and her ten grandchildren; Jarrett, Kaitlyn, Curtis, Joshua, Marnie, Ryan, Morgan, Jamie, Alyssa and Emily. She was always ready with a joke and a smile, and was kind and generous to all. She was a treasure that will be fondly remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt. Passed away at Saint Michael's Hospital on Tuesday, March 14, 2006 after a battle with lung cancer. Dear father of Sirina JONSSON. Beloved son of Macario MUNSAYAC and grandfather of Joshua and Jaden. Survived by his three brothers, three sisters, several nieces and nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law and all his loyal Friends. Richard HUTCHINSON/HUTCHISON of Newmarket, beloved husband of Agnes (née MUNSHAW) and dear father of Gayle (John CLARK) of Sharon, Terry (Wendy) of Toronto, Randy (Marie) of Holland Landing, Rick (Jayne) of Newmarket and Lynda (David GALLAGHER) also of Newmarket. He will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Carolyn, Sheryl, Crystal, Peter, Alex, Stephen, Graham, Shane, Shelley, Jennifer, Lauren, Victoria and Holly, and great-grand_son Simon. BROUSE, Marjorie " Teddy"
Died on Sunday, March 5, 2006 after suffering a stroke two days prior. She was in her 88th year. Teddy survived her husband of 50 years Robert, (Bob), who died in March, 2004. He was her rock, life partner and closest friend and she missed him dearly. Mother to Lynn McCLORY of Toronto, Kirk BROUSE and his wife Elizabeth of Oakville and Kathy BROUSE of Mississauga. "Gam" will be missed by her grandchildren Kevin, Brian, Naomi, Geeta, Tina, Wesley and Claire. Over half a century of life in Oakville, Teddy enjoyed her years at The Oakville Club, dedication to The Canadian Red Cross and her bridge partners. A special thanks to the staff of Wyndham Manor and to Madina HAGI- MUNYE. The family will hold a celebration honouring Teddy's life on Sunday, March 12, between 3-5 p.m., at 66 Second St. in Oakville.
