nieces and nephews and many close Friends. Jack was born in Swan
River, Manitoba on April 4, 1932. As a teen he was an avid hockey
player. Over the years he worked as a telegraph operator for
C.N. and C.P. Railways. Jack's favourite past times included
spending time with family and Friends, travelling, dancing, singing
and attending Toronto Blue Jays games. He loved a good laugh.
Jack recently retired after spending 30 years driving a cab in
the Toronto area and was proud of being featured in the January
2000 issue of Taxi News as the First Cover Cab of the Millennium.
Jack was a gentle, patient, fun loving gentleman, who held his
family and Friends in high regard. We will all miss him greatly
including his funny, happy songs. The family wishes to thank
Dr. Gary LOCH and the staff at Community Services for their excellent
care of Jack. Special thanks to the physicians, nurses and staff
of the Palliative Unit at Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto
for their excellent care and compassion extended to Jack over
the past several weeks. We will all miss you Jack. Thank you
for enriching our lives, God bless and may you rest in peace
until we meet again. Cremation will take place. A Memorial Service
will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2006 at 3: 00 p.m. at Rosar-Morrison

unit at Barrie's Royal Victoria Hospital. Jim was born in Pittsburgh
in 1910 and lived in England prior to coming to the Toronto area
where he resided until moving to Barrie in his later years. Jim
was admired by all who knew him for his gentle friendly nature
he regularly enjoyed recounting stories of his life and times
with Friends and family and even well into his 80's with his
loyal customers. Much loved and greatly missed by his children

Rose MENELEY, beloved wife of Robert
MENELEY of Calgary, Alberta
passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, September 16, 2006
following a great life, undiminished by the diagnosis of Multiple
Sclerosis twenty seven years ago. Rose was born in Kilkenny,
Ireland to Daniel and Mary
BRENNAN on January 26, 1932. In 1953
Rose graduated as a Registered Nurse from the Luton and Dunstable
Hospital in England and followed this with a certificate in Orthopaedic
Nursing in 1956. She immigrated to Canada in 1957 as the first
step in a working trip around the world. Following short stints
in Toronto and Calgary, she nursed at the Misericordia Hospital
in Edmonton. The wanderlust bug bit again in 1958 and she accepted
a position as an Industrial Nurse at Imperial Oil's Norman Wells
Refinery (North West Territories). In addition to that she traveled
by canoe, dogsled and C46 doing medivacs from the north. In 1959
she met Bob who was working as a geologist in Norman Wells for
Imperial Oil. Rose and Bob were married in Ireland in October 1960 and
then returned to Dawson Creek, British Columbia. In Dawson Creek
she quickly made a circle of Friends who continued on with her
to Calgary where they stood by her and supported her to the end.
Rose loved bridge, golf, tea and chat and serving Irish coffee.
Besides her loving husband, Rose is survived by six children
and thirteen grandchildren, Marie (Kent)

as a member of the 'New 100' class as Royal Military College 2913
after World War 2 and then received his M.B.A. from Harvard Business
School. As a successful businessman and entrepreneur he was a
senior executive, president, Chief Executive Officer, and owner
of several corporations such as Eaton, Standard Brands, Valley
Bottling, and Bionaire. Allen enjoyed numerous activities including
fishing, cross word puzzles, gardening, golfing, sailing, skiing,
and spending time with his grandchildren. There will be no visitations.
The funeral service will be at 4: 00 p.m., October 17th, at the
Trinity Anglican Church, 1230 Bank Street, at the corner of Cameron
Avenue, Ottawa, Ontario. In memory of Al, donations to The University

He was 81. He completed extensive professional studies at Achimota
College (Ghana), Trinity College of Music (London), University

As an educator, he was a mentor to many young musicians and taught

coached at Western before entering medicine. He graduated in
1957 and received his fellowship in General surgery in 1962,
and Fellowship in the American College of Surgeons in 1966. He
was inducted into the Western "W" Club Sports Hall of Fame in
1984. He practiced General Surgery in Tillsonburg for 33 years
in partnership first with Elmer Quintyn and later with Mohammed
Sabet and James

(ORT) and predeceased by his brothers Harry and Gerald. Reg graduated
with an Honours B.A. in Physical Education from University of
Western Ontario in 1952 where he starred in football, hockey
and wrestling. He received the Doctor Claude Brown Memorial Award
and the Hon. G. Howard Ferguson award for the highest achievement
in athletics, scholarship and university life. He taught and
coached at Western before entering medicine. He graduated in
1957 and received his fellowship in General surgery in 1962,
and Fellowship in the American College of Surgeons in 1966. He
was inducted into the Western "W" Club Sports Hall of Fame in
1984. He practiced General Surgery in Tillsonburg for 33 years
in partnership first with Elmer
QUINTYN and later with Mohammed
SABET and James
BROWN.

Minor Hockey Mothers, an avid supporter of Petrolia Minor Sports
and as the founder and coordinator for 25 years of the community's
Christmas for Everyone program. Visitors will be received on
Tuesday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Needham-Jay Funeral Home,
Petrolia. The funeral service will be held at Christ Anglican
Church, Petrolia on Wednesday, January 4, 2006 at 11: 00 a.m.
