spirit - a wet 70 mile bike ride through Scotland as a nine year
old! - driving her BSA to a forestry job - two years in near
isolation on a Norwegian farm - a journey from Moscow to Hong
Kong with her sister. Emigrating to Canada in 1956 with husband
Anders LINDSTOL she worked as a model, secretary, real estate
agent and store owner (showcasing her artistic talent). The family
is grateful for the support and compassion of medical staff and
Friends. At Elspeth's request, there will not be a funeral service.
To celebrate her life, Friends are invited to gather Sunday,
October 1, from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Bronte Room of The Lighthouse,
Ontario Street, Oakville (Bronte). In Elspeth's memory, donations

area for many years as a player, coach and manager. He also was
affiliated with the Harness Racing Association, owning, training
and driving in Toronto, Barrie, Peterborough, Orangeville and
in the States until a training accident cut his career short.
A service of remembrance will be held on Saturday, April 8th
at 11: 00 a.m. in the Carfrae Chapel of the Mount Pleasant Mausoleum
and Cemetery, 375 Mount Pleasant Road, Toronto, (enter the Yonge
or Mt. Pleasant entrance and follow the solid yellow line). In

family-man, a true friend, a respected businessman, an exceptional
athlete, a fount of historical and geographical knowledge, and
with a fondness for things Scottish, especially celebrating in

Barbara will be sadly missed
by her nieces, nephews and Friends including the many music makers
teachers who taught for her over the years. Barbara began teaching
piano in 1940 and after establishing the Music Makers in 1967
she directed and taught for thirty-seven years. She was a dedicated
teacher of young children first and foremost, who wrote and arranged
much of the Music Makers material. For three generations, thousands
of children had their musical lives nurtured and encouraged by
Barbara. At 14 she won the gold medal in the open age Bach competition
sponsored by Western University, and was awarded a scholarship
to Michigan State University. At age 15 Barbara obtained her
associate degree from the Royal Conservatory of Music of Toronto.
She continued with 10 years of post-graduate studies on scholarship
with B. Hayunga Carmen of the Leschetizsky School and obtained
her B.A. from McMaster University. Barbara volunteered at the
Mayfield School and was a member of the Zonta Service Club. She
was also Chairman of the President's Advisory Council on Children's
Music at Humber College. Funeral Services will be held at Dodsworth and
Brown Funeral Home at 2241 New Street (at Drury Lane) in Burlington
on Friday March 17th at 1 p.m. Visitations are on Wednesday March 15th
and Thursday March 16th from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Care Units of Victoria for their wonderful care during Catherine's

He was a World War 2 veteran. He was employed by GM until his
retirement in 1985. He was a member of Frankenmuth United Methodist
Church, American Legion Post 150 and the 82nd Airborne Division
